But why? Again, it's not like it'd be breaking up a championship team or a legitimate contender. Out of the players that are likely to be involved in the deal, which of them are irreplaceable/untradeable?

I get the vibe it's the reputation of Dwight these days. He's been acting like a bitch lately lol and fans just don't like him anymore. They would still want him on their team but don't want to admit it.

It's just that they're still young and has a lot of time to develop. Don't wanna give up Parsons and Morris.

At least LeBron was a free agent.

They may or may not develop into stars; Howard on the other hand is a star in the league and will be for years to come. I just don't think they could pass up the opportunity on the off chance that those players
might become something special...an extension with Howard permitting.

Jarrod Rudolph: Sources: Dwight Howard is ready to join Lakers. If traded to Los Angeles Howard will re-sign long-term with team after 2012-13 season.

I don't believe it until i see him in a Lakers jersey, and even then i am not sure if it is true.
Thu Jul 19, 2012 10:27 pm
Guess he's finally figured that a move to Brooklyn just isn't going to happen.
Fri Jul 20, 2012 12:54 am
As per usual with this Dwightmare, i'll believe it when i see it.
Fri Jul 20, 2012 10:36 pm
I'd like to see Magic trade him to Rockets, dump all toxic contracts, pick up young players & picks.

Sounds like the Mavericks' patience and willingness to take a step back could pay off after all. No one's going to want to give up anything of value for a star who's just going to walk at the end of the season and the Lakers might not be in the best position to get a deal done, seeing as how Bynum only has one year left on his deal.
Fri Jul 27, 2012 10:50 pm
This dude is untradeable, with all the shits he talks / his "friends" talk... who is going to trade for him?... just annoying
Little girl did not get her ice cream now she is grouchy...

blame the media, AND the orlando magic FO too. now they're begging dwight to stay(guilty), where they don't even have a coach until now?(how would that help them change dwight's mind?)and clearly he want's to be out SINCE LAST SEASON(december last year), 3 teams are stills the same w/c are nets(likely jan), lakers(now/jan if bynum agrees), mavs(2013 offseason).. The FO have their chances since then, but what they had made? nothing.. they refused to let him go this offseason, now they'll regret it.. they could have gotten young players, picks(multiple),and dump salary contracts(multiple) and move on, now what? crying to dwight begging him to stay?c'mon.. i'm not defending this DH drama, but people are just biased were clearly magic FO are not innocent in any of this, claiming they are the only victims..
Sat Jul 28, 2012 10:55 am
How did they refuse to let him go this offseason? They had every right to try and convince him to stay - you know, being an important player to them and all - and he opted in. If he wanted out, then he shouldn't have done that. Likewise, they have every right to try and get the best possible deal if they are going to accommodate his demand for a trade.
It's true, the Magic's front office have not handled the situation well and have played a part in putting themselves in a tough position. However, Howard is not making it any easier for them to accommodate his request and as such, he's not doing himself any favours either.
Sat Jul 28, 2012 12:34 pm
Again, their FO haven't done anything significantly to even make their superstar feel like home. It was very clear he want's out(this is just like breaking-up w/ your GF, just an example

), why make him stay if he's not interested at all?yeah, they may have the right, but he has his own rights too(that's why there is NBPA), and yep as their "superstar"(the GF

), if you want both of you to be happy, you have to let him go(they could've receive great in return this offseason, and dump as many as they want). they had their chances to make him happy there, but they failed(made all the wrong moves while they've had him). ask shaq, tmac, s.francis and etc, history repeats itself for them. there has to be change in their system. i've pointed out some facts about why he opted-in, there are many factors, i can remember that poor whelled-chair guy(and some other children) making a video, begging dwight to stay(w/c was reported that magic FO was behind it), w/c was a total classless move. the "blackmail" and the promise.
My point is, this is not about DH only but also try to look on what their FO had done to him. this is a superstar's league, he's a superstar, and he has these rights to choose or demand to whatsoever he wants. as a FO, you have also your rights, but would you rather make him stay when his "heart" is already out? just like a girlfriend, "bitching" to other guys, would you want her again?simple sample..
