As it seems, Bulls are making some solid moves here! I like the signing of captain kirk, I'm sure he's going to be a good option in place of Rose, and a veteran presence in the team , which can help younger players, like Teague. On the other hand, keeping Korver and Asik will be good as well, though the thing concerning me is that they are going to get a little overpaid. As you mentioned,a solution like Green and Redd, could be cheaper, but still as good as Kyle.

The bulls are paying the lux tax. Now that is a welcome surprise. Now go get Mayo!

Hinrich has been pretty awful since he left the bulls. Could it have been the injuries and feeling depressed for bein traded for cap space? Maybe playing back at the UC will rejuvenate him. The bulls do need his skillet, even when Rose returns. I'm sure all the Caucasian fans in the windy city are happy lol

I'm not particularly excited about this pickup since hinrich is.... Well hinrich. The pickings are slim when you only have $3mil to spend. Guess he'll do

Can't believe they're possibly going to match the offer for Asik. I wouldn't have thought they'd give that any consideration.

The only issue I have with Hinrich is that bad performance mentioned already, but to be honest Watson hasn't carried his regular season performances into the playoffs. Which doesn't leave them many options for PG...

I think it's a wash between watson and hinrich. Watson is the better scorer while hinrich is the better defender.

Let's see what offer Watson gets in the open market

Decisions are due on brewer and Watson today

Just for some random note, Chris Kaman is going to be FA this offseason. I don't know if he would accept a lower offer then what Asik accepted with the Rockets. If he did do you guys think he would a good pick up so we wouldn't have to match that overpriced contract for Asik? I think he'd be a good complement to Noah at C, as long as he stays healthy.

Decisions made.

Bulls decline Brewer's option
Bulls decline to pick up C.J. Watson option

For some reason, they're reportedly interested in Jonny Flynn. I can't say that's a thrilling piece of news.

if JLiii goes to the heat, they will need a backup pg. armed with the veteran's minimum, the pickings will be slim for the bulls. why not flynn? he's still young and teague may not be ready to be the backup pg

I'm not objecting, I'm just not expecting much.

I'm guessing there's no way they can possibly bring in Elton Brand, available now that he's been amnestied? I think I'd still have to take him over Boozer, especially at such a cheaper price.

It seems that Korver could be going to the blazers for a second round pick from the wolves, as a part of a Batum deal between the Blazers and the Wolves.

Says my Insider sources- bulls haven't signed hinrich just yet because they are trying to do a sign/trade with Atl that would net them both hinrich and morrow.

Deals like this that make sense normally don't happen though ;)

Report: Bulls ship Korver to Hawks; Hinrich in deal?

The Bulls traded Kyle Korver to the Atlanta Hawks, putting them one step closer to bringing back veteran guard Kirk Hinrich, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The Bulls had talks with Portland and Minnesota break down but wanted to move Korver to avoid paying a $500,000 buyout that would have been triggered Sunday, the deadline for the team to decline a $5 million option on Korver for 2012-13.

Korver fills the Hawks' traded-player exception slot created by dealing Joe Johnson to the Nets, which guarantees the Bulls a second-round pick (via Minnesota) in return.

Not bad after all. But I might be a bit biased as I've always been a fan of Hinrich.

If only. I can't imagine there'd be any takers, not with a couple of years left on his contract.

I got an alert saying C.J. Watson agreed to a 2yr deal with the Brooklyn Nets, pretty random.

Mayo is going to meet with the Bulls in Las Vegas, in three next days , and as a Yahoo! Sports reporter said, he's going to announce his decision I'm the next 10 days. Suns,Lakers and Mavericks are the other teams interested in Mayo.

And Chicago Tribune is also reporting that the Bulls are trying to trade away Hamilton and his 5 mil contract after getting rid of Korver, Watson and Brewer's contracts. Maybe this is a sign that they are going actively on Mayo(aside of trying to stay under the luxury tax of course)?

If Hinrich stays healthy for the most of the season,I would take him instead of Watson, even with a higher salary.

since the hinrich acquisition/korver trade has yet to become official.. this leads me to think they are after O.J. Mayo (or Lee as the alternative?). Get rid of RIP and use his salary for Mayo. i don't think anyone's interested in RIP for $6 mil. Just my guess. I think the Suns are in the driver's seat

What if Watson stays healthy? hinrich has been pretty damn poor since he's left and he's 32
