Conference Finals - Game 5 - Magic (2) @ Heat (1) - [3:2]
Howard powers past Heat in Game 5!
Dwight Howard set a statement in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals in Miami. He almost defeated the Heat on his own scoring 42 points combined with 17 rebounds and 5 blocks!
The Magic came out of the gates very fast outscoring the Heat 30-21 in the first quarter. Miami led by LeBron James was able to catch up in the second reducing the margin to 3 points. Then finally in the fourth quarter the Magic were able to pull away and seal their first road win in this tight series.
Beyond Howards 42 points it was once again Courtney Lee who scored 15 points from the bench and had a huge impact on that Magic victory. Furthermore it was Terrence Williams, Glen Davis and Jason Richardson in double digits.
For the Heat LeBron James was the best scorer, James scored 29 points but sadly disappeared when it counted the most. Udonis Haslem could chip in with 15 points , 13 boards with an outcome of 7-10 from the field. Chris Bosh was a pure disappointment, only 8 points and a 4 out of 13 shooting effort.
Now the Magic can win this series in Game 6 at Orlando after coming back from a 0:2 deficit. For the Heat it is all or nothing now, they need to remember what they did in the first two games of this series and strike back from the last three losses.

Magic advance to 2012 NBA Finals!
It is over! The Orlando Magic defeated the highly favored Miami Heat in 6 Games to advance to the 2012 NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks!
After coming back from a 0:2 deficit the Magic were able to win 4 Games in a row and finish the Miami Heat at Amway Center in Orlando. The Heat completely missed out on the first quarter scoring only half of the points the Magic did. After that it was a tightly contested Game, but Miami needed to run after their 1st quarter deficit the whole way.
Dispite Raymond Feltons 6-22 horrible shooting the Magic were able to compensate this lack of production. Dwight Howard chipped in with 19 points and 16 boards, Jason Richardson carried a huge load scoring 21 points- shooting 8 out of 11 from the field.
For the Heat the "Big 3" combined for 59 points, which was not enough to keep up with Orlando. LeBron James had a solid ouput with 27 points and 10 rebounds, but after all it was another disappointment for him, no Finals and no Ring!
The future of the Big 3 is uncertain, will this team stay together and prepare for another run? Year 2 after the consolidation of Bosh, James and Wade, but the success they admitted themselves is still lacking.
For sure the Heat need to enforce their rows with some more solid Roleplayers and a Bigman who can compete with Howard in the future.
For Orlando it is time to face the Dallas Mavericks in their third NBA Finals appearence since 1995 and 2009. The defending NBA Champion of 2011 defeated the Portland Trailblazers in a 6 Game series to prepare their title defense.
Red Mamba wrote:Aw, sucks that the Heat or my Blazers made the Finals, but it's great to see you made the Finals so that this could continue.
qfrmcpt310 wrote:Oh yeah, that's right LBJ no ring for youCongrats on making it to the finals, hopefully you can steal one of those first 2 games so you can win the ship at home
2012 NBA Finals - Game 1 - Magic (2) @ Mavericks (1) - [0:1]
Mavericks defend home court !
The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Orlando Magic in Game 1 of the 2012 NBA Finals to defend their home court and make the first step to defend their 2011 NBA Championship.
In a very tight Game which could have gone either way the Mavericks dominated the last minutes of the fourth quarter. Led by Jason Terry and Vince Carter, Dallas made the big shots to outscore the Magic 32-21.
Terry was the Mavs best scorer with 27 points, Vince Carter came from the bench and had a huge impact on the Mavs offense scoring 20 points in only 14 minutes.
For the Orlando Magic, Richardson and Felton had a solid outcome but not enough for the NBA Finals. Dwight Howard showed his leadership in offense and defense scoring 28 points combinded with 15 boards and 3 blocks.
Orlando need to win the next Game in Dallas to avoid an 0:2 situation like in their series against the Heat.

Magic split road trip !
The Orlando Magic were able to win Game 2 of the 2012 NBA Finals and split their two road games in Dallas 1:1. Now the teams are heading to Orlando for three more Games in Florida.
Game 2 was very close until the end, both teams have been fighting hard for the victory and the Magic came out with the better end this time. Glen Davis carried a huge load tonight scoring a playoff high 25 points shooting 10 out of 16 from the field and 5-5 from the line.
In addition to that Dwight Howard and Raymond Felton had a double double, Howard with 22 points and 13 boards, Felton with 14 points and 10 assists.
The Dallas Mavericks were not able to keep up the sharpshooting from the 3 point line like they did in Game 1. Only 9 out of 31 this time, Jason Terry fired 18 shots from beyond the arc but sinking only 5 of them.
Dirk Nowitzki scored 24 points for the Mavericks to keep them in range when Orlando tried to pull away. Gilbert Arenas and Lamar Odom helped Dallas from the bench, both chipped in with 15 and 10 points.

Orlando Magic - 2012 NBA Champions !
It's over- the Orlando Magic defeated the Dallas Mavericks in 5 Games to win their first franchise NBA Championship!
After the shame of 1995 and the harmful loss in 2009, Dwight Howard and the Magic came back to win it all against the reigning NBA Champion. What Shaq was not able to finish in Orlando, Dwight Howard did it in his 8th year with the Magic.
Howard led his team through the post season with a dominating performance. The Magic went 16-3 in the playoffs, faltering against the Heat when they started 0-2 but coming back from this deficit with a 4-0 run.
Dwight Howard was named NBA Finals MVP averaging 26.5ppg 14.7rpg 2.7apg 0.5spg and 1.9bpg throughout the playoffs.
Game 5
The Dallas Mavericks showed no resistance trailing 1-3 in the series with very slim hope to force Game 6 in Dallas. The Magic already took charge in the first quarter outscoring the Mavericks by 10 points. Meanwhile Orlando even led by 20 points and just needed to maintain this margin.
Despite Nowitzki scoring 30 points in Game 5, the former NBA Finals MVP could not be happy with his performance against the Magic. Nowitzki was not able to connect to his regular season stats and the performnaces he already showed in the Conference Finals against the Trailblazers.
