lebron realising that he can do everything on his own without caring about what other people (ie wade) think of him might lead miami to a title...which would be sad

Celtics: two bench points.

Heat: only played six players basically.

LeBron: only two assists.

Players are allowed to hang on the rim to prevent injury by landing on somebody on their way down. Rondo was practically camping under the basket.

Congratulations Miami, and I just wanna say... I TOLD YOU! HAA

It is. He's been a Heat assistant for a long time.

I was hoping it would come down to the final few plays but the Celtics just couldn't buy a basket in the fourth. Looking back, I think it'll be Game 6 that they regret the most rather than anything they went wrong in Game 7. That was their golden opportunity to complete the upset, even taking LeBron's monster game into account they didn't put up much of a fight and the opportunity slipped away.

Congratulations to the Heat, though the Celtics gave them something to think about, making it far more competitive than I thought it would be. I thought it'd be five reasonably closely contested games but instead six of the seven turned out to be good ones to watch. Thunder/Spurs is still the series of the Playoffs so far, but this was a good one in its own right. Hopefully the Finals provide us with an entertaining final performance for this up and down, lockout shortened season.

Yeah I know he's been with the heat for years, just suprised to see him dancing. As for Game 6 being more dissapointing to the Celts, I don't think so. I mean they were up in Game 7 for awhile, then they gave up a ton of easy layups/dunks. You could say they just ran out of gas, but I don't know.

True, but I still see Game 6 as being the one they regret the most. Up 3-2 with a chance to finish things at home and avoid having to get the job done in Miami in Game 7...like I said, LeBron obviously played a big part in derailing that opportunity, but they didn't offer much resistance. It was a prime opportunity squandered.

Jeff was right on how this was a hit or miss league, whoever finds the right touch the quickest gets the best chance to move on to greater things. Boston couldn't answer anything in the 4th and it's just how the balance changed over, I think they did a good job since everyone was putting them in the "old and boring" area the spurs were in. After watching the series though, I want a Rondo layup package (unless it's in 2k games already), it's so awkward yet so effective to throw off players.

Nobody should be allowed to be alone on this kinda happy day! Let's get together and talk about some serious basketball guys.

The Celtics were great this series despite being a huge underdog. Gritty, tough, and emotional. The Heat had mental lapses here and there but glad to see them pulling it out eventually.

If by 'under the basket' you mean 'several meters away' then yes, he was.

Rondo was practically under LeBron, so he needs to hang to prevent any injury.

In game 5 Pietrus and Dooling had a big impact on the game by making threes. In game 7, it was Battier and Bosh (WTF?). Putting Bass on James didn't seem like a great idea to me. I know Rivers wanted to prevent Pierce from getting in foul trouble, but Bass is just too slow. LeBron was driving right by him all the time. Bass could have at least given him a bit of space and made him take jumpshots. Especially since once James got past Bass, he hardly ever met any help and was allowed to dunk all he wanted. Not a good defensive effort at all there.

On the other end, the Celtics couldn't get anything to go, because they weren't getting good shots. The Heat were giving Rondo lots of space, but he didn't take advantage. Instead, he dribbled out the entire shot clock and passed off to a well-defended teammate for a bad shot on several possessions. Boston failed to execute on both ends in the 4th and that's why they lost.

Emotional moments at the end of the game for Rivers and the Celtics. We'll see what happens there in the offseason. I think Garnett will stay and they definitely won't trade Pierce. To me, Allen is the only one of the big three who might leave.

LeBron jumped over Rondo, cleared him, then completely unnecessarily lifted himself back over Rondo, who got out of the way. LeBron then hung on the rim for a full second longer, despite having nobody underneath him and no momentum in any direction. He then pulled on the rim again before letting go. I'd have T'd him up at least twice in that sequence.

Not uneccessarily. He couldn't position his legs to properly land if he let go of the rim. His momentum would have made him land on his back or head if he didn't hold on to that rim. Had to lift himself back up while hanging on the rim to avoid hitting Rondo when the momentum made him swing back.

LeBron then hung on the rim for a full second longer, despite having nobody underneath him and no momentum in any direction.

Rondo was near him, his legs are even touching Rondo and LeBron still has momentum from swinging because of his previous action which he had to do to protect himself first and anyone near him then.

He then pulled on the rim again before letting go.

Agree, that air kick deserves a T.

He could easily have let go towards the end of his backwards movement over Rondo. Easily.

LeBron should be banned from anywhere near the rim. The guy nearly soccer kicked Rondo and is a constant threat to the rim.

No. Pietrus was still there and if LeBron let go the momentum would have sent him backwards and land on Pietrus or not land properly and injure himself.

I don't know or have or will ever dunk in my life nor have NBA level skill and talent but my assumptions are purely based on my understanding of physics, which I'm confident is better than LeBron James'.

It doesn't really matter. Should've been a tech for the last swing on the rim anyway, so whether you could also have teched him earlier and how many times is wholly irrelevant.
