The health of Griffin and Paul were questionable, and they still only lost by two. Marc Gasol had been a big factor in these two Memphis wins. He will need to play well to close out the series.

I think Evans got that T for just being ugly. No really, he was complaining for the past few possessions for literally nothing and the ref probably just got fed up with it, especially after they gave him that flop call.

Griffin definitely looked out of sorts. He got up for one fairly nice dunk and made a nice hustle play to feed Jordan for a dunk on the break, but aside from that he looked very tentative, playing hot potato with the ball and not being nearly as active as usual. The Clippers probably could've had that game and the Grizzlies handed them a decent amount of opportunities down the stretch with missed free throws and the like, but they messed up completely when they let Conley run out the final 3.7 seconds.
And yes, that technical foul on the high five was absurd, absolutely ridiculous.
Still anyone's series, but right now it seems like the Grizzlies will prevail.

That's not how techs work.

20 pesos for a bet. Why even bother.

Unless he means 20 grand, but I doubt it.

Still a very close game at halftime. LAC leads 39-38.

Im too sleepy to watch this games so early... I guess with a 10 point lead, clippers can seal this one. And Los Angeles people have so much Playoffs to watch.

Did Del Negro just become a slightly better coach by closing with the bench that has been killing the Grizzlies? Nick Young, Mo Williams, Reggie Evans, and Kenyon Martin have been awesome this whole series.
This game was hard to watch. So physical, nothing but holding and pushing and smacking from both teams.
Is Eric Bledsoe the fastest PG in the league? He just seems to hit that extra gear and take off while passing the other team even though it's a bit out of control.

Congrats Clippers. Well deserved win.
Good luck against Spurs.

Exactly what I loved about this series. Reminded of 90s basketball. You only could wish there were more things along the lines of MWP's elbows and Bynum's assholenes in the series. That'd have made it a perfectly intensifying series.

I love seeing all the Memphis bandwagoners on realgm blaming the loss entirely on OJ Mayo.

Picked the seven games but not the winner. Congrats to the Clippers.

Who's to say? Techs are so arbitrary at times, it makes as much sense as any other explanation at this point.
It seems every time you think they've hit a new low with a weak and baffling technical call, they find a way to top it.

That's not how techs are
supposed to work. If he's not currently complaining, you don't tech him for complaining before, and you sure as hell don't tech him because you or one of your crew made a bad call.
Just because similarly arbitrary techs have happened in the past doesn't make it right, or reasonable, or anything of that sort. And at any rate, has their been a tech as stupid as that? Ever? Even the first few weeks of the zero-tolerance policy was better than that. The only one that comes to mind is the one on Fisher a couple years back for punching the air in celebration after a teammate scored, but even there you could see what the referee
thought was going on.

Loved the physical play of the series, brought back memories of the 90s that made the game more interesting to watch. The tech called on Evans in Game 6 could quite possibly be the most hilarious one called ever. All it looked like he was doing was giving Griffin a high-five then you see the ref give him a Tech.

No one said it was how it was supposed to be or that it's at all reasonable. It was a wry explanation for a ludicrous technical foul call; at least, that's how I took it. In all seriousness, who could explain the logic behind some of these ridiculous techs?
I fully agree with you and I would think most other people would as well. Like I said, just when we think we've seen the stupidest tech call, something even more bewildering gets whistled.
