2K13 Cover Athlete(s)?

I haven't seen another thread about this, but please inform me if there is one.

Who do you think 2K13's athlete will be this year? It's going to be difficult to figure out what can top 2K12's cover(s). Whether it be a current playing athlete, the new 2012 Champs, or more legends. My prediction is that there's going to be a mix of current players, and legends together. Just randomly throwing that out there.

What are your bold thoughts?

It wouldn't surprise me if LeBron makes one of the covers this year, he'd be one of my top picks. Rose seems a strong possibility given his past involvement with NBA 2K, too. At this point I'm going with LeBron though, with MJ appearing somewhere on the cover similar to what EA did with NBA Live 2000, or perhaps being an alternate collector's cover.

How do you even come close to the multi covers of three hall of famers? They have to put one of the best if not the best current player on the cover. Unless the MJ deal was for multiple covers/years, they really need to put Lebron James on the cover. If they are willing to put up the money for Jordan, they can pay for Lebron James. A better way to do it would be to have multiple covers again, with Lebron, Durant, and Kobe, D Rose or Chris Paul.

MJ's signed for a few more years to appear in the game, so there's probably a decent chance he will appear on another cover (or be available as an alternate cover). Having said that, unless appearing on the cover is part of the deal, I have a feeling they'll go with an active player as the main cover this year. It made sense to keep the old school approach last year with NBA's Greatest and the lockout, but my guess is that NBA 2K13 will be about moving forward and to that end, the cover player will be a contemporary star like LeBron.

I didn't make those covers, chill. You completely missed the point, i was saying that the cover might have multiple stars, and used those as examples.

I'm fine with it, though given he is retired I believe that at some point the focus/selling point has to be on a contemporary star again. It's not like the cover player is a deal breaker for me anyway; if I have to add another MJ cover to my collection, so be it.

True, I remember before 2K11 came out people were desperate for MJ. They made their own covers to be printed, you'd see perfected CF's, or Created players on console versions, MessenjahMatt made sick videos, and now that he's back some people are just like "ehhh"
