If i remembered correctly, Dwyane wade(finals mvp) and the heat got swept by the bulls during the 2007 playoffs in the first round.

And who did Wade beat in the Finals when he choked with a 2-0 lead?

Case. Closed. End of.

We need some sort of tongue-in-cheek smiley.

Anyway, it's a shame it came down to this for the Mavs, getting swept in the first round a year after winning it all. I thought they'd at least take one at home and they sure had a shot in Game 4, but sometime's that's the way it goes, especially given they're not as good as last year. Interesting that both Mavs/Heat Finals have seen the champion swept in the first round the following season.

Congrats to the Thunder, though. Should be another strong postseason run for them the rest of the way.

Probably one of the worst(if not the worst) Playoffs performance in Dirk's career this season. Unusual and unexpected...

By the way, Dirk was amazing in previous series against the Thunder. Can't be said the same this year.

I wouldn't say that... If you look at his stats this year they're right up there with his career ones (talking playoffs), and they were better than the season statistics he put up. Plus he had what, like 35 points last night? I wouldn't call that the worst performance, they just lost to a team that's thrice as good as the Mavs.

What are you talking about? :?
Other than the drop in rebounding and lack of blocks Dirk was being his usual consistent self.

A choker.

It's not about Dirk, it's about the other Mavs player. No one stepped up like last year, Terry, Matrix, Kidd all didn't have a good series.

But it's right, I also did not like Dirk's game this series. The stats are okay, but he did not seem to be as aggressive as last year, I did not like his body language. Somehow I felt like this the whole season. If you ask me, he had a Championship and EURO hangover that he just could not get out of his legs.

About the choking etc. (I know the veteran guys like Benji and shadow use irony) - He has one ring now, so for me as a fan, I don't even bother defending Dirk. One ring, Finals MVP, thank you byeeee.

Just wasn't their year. They were unlucky that Dirk missed that three late in game 1, and then narrowly lost again in game 2. After missing what was clearly their window of oppotunity against a clearly more talented team, they imploded in game 3 and the fourth quarter of game 4.

From the start with their refusal to commit to more than one year of Chandler, it was clear that this was a transitional year. Don't forget they were also counting on Lamar Odom who inexplicably became a scrub this season after a near-all-star season.

Definitely. It's important to get something big going this offseason. Dirk has like 1-2 years left as the main option on offense, but the supporting cast has to be the right one. I doubt they will win the title again, but if you complement Dirk with the right supporting cast they can still get some trips to the WCFs.

Alanis Morissette Ironic MV
What the fuck? This song has nothing to do with irony. It's about bad luck and coincidence...
Kamikaze Gorilla
Situational irony: an outcome that turns out to be very different from what was expected, the difference between what is expected to happen and what actually does.
So how is this song not ironic?

Perhaps sooner, if they end up with Deron Williams and can find a way to bring Dwight Howard in as well. Dirk probably has a few good years left in him, if he's willing to stick around he could possibly be part of at least one run with them.
