2012 Album Releases

Wed Apr 18, 2012 9:44 pm

I hate the sticky.

And I can't rely on you people.

So I put in the effort of a stone god and discovered this page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_al ... se_in_2012

Nobody cares but Say Anything and The Used have new albums. I mention them because despite not being an overall fan, I liked at least an album from each and also they are recent and on that list. Listening to The Used one currently, as in, EXACTLY THIS SECOND, and enjoying it so far.

Also, who knew Lostprophets were still around? Kinda interested because, well, I can only imagine it's bad.

In other words, this thread is like the Generic TV Thread, for your stupid drug-addled regurgitation of the emotion flowing through your veins of the epic beats you're listening to.

And we all know nobody here agrees on most anything except on comics and TV where we're all up in each others junks, rubbing and engorging, drinking out of BIG CARL, but we have enough overlap that I think mentions will subsidize our lifestyle without demanding a cult adherence.

And if not, you can linger until others come in and justify your pathology, in which case you start a spin-off thread just to watch it die unless it's about the gibberish entry of the latest rapper and the dredges flock to leave it skinned on the highway.

Have fun!

Jack White's solo album leaked on to the internet a couple days ago (and is out soon enough). Has some good songs (Sixteen Saltines sounds like classic White Stripes) but ultimately a little underwhelmed. Tries to be eclectic and different, but channels the Raconteurs a little too much. Maybe I just want him to release White Blood Cells over and over again, but I expected more.

New Spiritualized album is nice if you're a hipster like me and enjoy nine minute space rock songs. You'll like the new Shins album (Port of Morrow) if you liked their other ones, as it sounds exactly the same.

That's all I got. Exactly what you'd expect from a Lamrock music post. :P Haven't been as interested in music lately.

Most lists do not cover all of the releases for Albums, the ones I got were:

April 10th: Demon Hunter - True Defiance
April 17th: Thousand Foot Krutch - The End Is Where We Begin
April 17th: Evans Blue - Graveyard of Empires

Only one of them is on there...

Oh god. I'm agreeing with lamrock on music! was underwhelmed by the jack album on first listen.

The shinedown album that came out a couple weeks back wasnt bad.

Indeed.

Personally looking forward to a new EP from Between The Buried And Me possibly this fall, and Exotic Animal Petting Zoo next month. I'm sure there will be much more, but I'm not too much in a loop regarding upcoming releases.
So far in 2012, I've been really enjoying Half Moon Run (Radiohead-type of indie, but better, and from Quebec of all places...), Breag Naofa (anti-religion post/sludge metal), If These Trees Could Talk (post rock), The Sun Aesthetic (post rock), Soen (Tool copycat, but still interesting on its own merit), and Sunpocrisy (progressive metalcore from Italy).

2 songs have been released already  I dont think he scrapped it. From what i've read he's just a crazy perfectionist and refuses to put it out until its as good as the others, if not the best rap album ever. He's insane.

He can't make a sober album. He has probably scrapped it about 4 to 5 times. As good as the last one was, it had artists on it that went nowhere. He should go nostalgic, and get Warren G, The Dogg Pound, Snoop, and bring on Bone Thugs n Harmony.

and raise Nate Dogg from the dead

Nate's not dead. He's hanging out with Tupac.

He could go the route Puff Daddy did with Biggie Smalls and get someone who sounds exactly like Nate Dogg. For all we know he already has material Nate recorded before he died.

Linkin Park's upcoming CD is already streaming on iTunes. Not half bad. Listening to it right now. Once again, very different from anything else they've put out.

EDIT: Never mind, the album went to shit as soon as I finished typing this, while listening to 'Victimized". Everything after that sucks.

Did you actually expect anything remotely decent LP blows and always has.

Re: 2012 Album Releases

Their last couple albums have grown on me a lot since they came out. I expect this one to do the same.

EDIT: I'm already starting to like this album quite a bit.

Hey, an album thread!

I just heard Muse's new album.. They're now dead to me.

Tame Impala just released a new album called "Lonerism" and i'm loving it. I love that lo-fi fuzzy warm psychedelic rock stuff.

BUT, the best album i have heard this year, and maybe for the past 2 or 3 years too... is an album called "Tawk Tomahawk" by a band called "Hiatus Kaiyote". They're a "future soul / beats" band from Melbourne that are making some waves in L.A. It's crazy cos i met the singer a few years ago. She is one creative mother fucker and it does not surprise me one bit that she is spear-heading one of the more innovative bands i've heard in recent times. Check 'em out.

Yeah this Muse album leaves something to be desired. Or everything. If they keep going this route their careers are going to be ...UNSUSTAINABLE. Wub wub.
