2012 Playoffs: (2) Heat vs. (7) Knicks

Postby Lamrock on Fri Apr 27, 2012 12:35 pm

Back in 1999, our last lockout-shortened season, the 8 seeded Knicks upset the Heat in the first round, thanks to an Allan Houston buzzer beater. They went on to go to the finals (where the Spurs owned them). Will that happen again this year?

As well as the Knicks have played under Woodson, probably not. I think Miami wins the title. A couple of the Heat wins will be close, but... Talent wins out, Heat in 5.

This will be a fun series to watch. As for the result, well i don't see any team stopping the Heat train this year. Heat in 6.

This could just stretch out now with the Knicks being more defensive, but Heat in 6.

The Heat in 2 but realistically there are chances the Knicks might take this series to the game 5.

And if the NYK in 4 happens, I quit life and become a Bobcats fan.

I don't know why, but this is the only series I will look upon to.

Knicks in 7.

Heat in five. Woodson's done a good job with the Knicks who should have everyone important in uniform save for the injured Jeremy Lin, so I think they can take a game and put up a good fight during the other four. However, the Heat are just too good.

Heat in hard fought six games. Melo and Tyson Chandler might cause problems. And you never know... JR Smith could have one of those type games where he goes off and hit like 7 three pointers.

Camelo Anthony ended Lebron James' 13 game winning streak back in Cleaveland. Lebron James ended Camelo Anthony's 9 game winning streak this season.

This is the Game of the First Round. Id love to see these team go head to head for 7 games, but given the Knicks' playoff performance last year, this could end up earlier.

Heat in 6 games.

I can't wait to see maybe the best clutch player of the league, against maybe the worst clutch player of the league.

But Heat in 6.

Heat in 5. The game that they lose will be due to LeBron's lack of a fourth quarter, with no one else stepping up.

Come on. LeBron has had his struggles in the 4th quarter of the finals, but he has also come up huge in many 4th quarters throughout his career, and calling him the worst clutch player in the league is ridiculous.

this has the potential to be the toughest first round series in the East, provided Amar'e steps it up. If so,I could see a surprise as well in the making.

So, Knicks in 7!

The last lockout season, Knicks beat Heat in the first round. So I'm not counting out the Knicks with Anthony playing like a monster.

It sure would be surprising to see that happen though. The Heat did fine against the Knicks this season and I expect the same. But yeah it's hard to count out Anthony as he has played quite well against Lebron in his career. They're a dangerous team and I'd rather had the Sixers in the first round.

Would love a repeat of 99, but this isn't the same Miami team. Amare Stoudemire might be a difference maker here. If he can get closer to 100% healthy, then the Heat will struggle to defend him. Shumpert and Fields can play Wade well, but nobody on the Knicks roster can do anything about James. Heat in 6.

Knicks are paying the price for the bad losses early in the season. Heat in 5, maybe 6 if they get bored.

Dominant performance by LeFlop and the Heat. Shows how Melo and Amar'e aren't in the same class James and Wade are.

Questionable calls in the HEAT's favor, but a dominant first half nonetheless. (Y)
