Bogut to Golden State, Monta Ellis to Milwaukee

I think the Warriors won that trade. When healthy, Bogut is one of the better defensive centres in the game. Would they be able to buy out Jackson's contract though? Because I can't imagine that being a good situation, since he was so adament about getting out of Golden State in the first place.

The Bucks get a skilled, but slightly overrated (at least I think) guard in Monta Ellis and the epicness of Kwame Brown (look out Joe Smith, he's coming for you). Haven't seen enough of Ekpe to comment.

Who's the Bucks starting centre now? Drew Gooden?

Yes, I assume Gooden will continue in his role as the starting center as he has almost all season.

I don't see how the Warriors could have possibly won this deal, considering that Bogut hasn't really played much basketball in the last 2 years and probably isn't coming back this season. That plus Captain Jack's bloated contract? Shhiiiiiit.


Jennings and Monta will be fun to watch together, even though Ellis will probably take over as the main scoring option. (which is probably a good thing)

The Bucks look like they'll make the playoffs for sure after this trade.

I agree with Sir Rubin, Bucks made it out with better pieces IMO. Bogut could help, but he needs to get healthy, Jennings and Ellis is no diffrent then him in CUrry in my eyes, and Udoh has an amazing upside.

They don't care about this season, likely to be shutting down Bogut and Curry and tanking as hard as possible.

What I'm hearing is Magic got left outside looking in on the Monta trade.....

Everything was set up for a 3 way but Magic FO wanted reassurances from Dwight before taking on LT salary. They held the trade over D12's head saying its a done deal if he commits.

Dwight felt painted in a corner and got angry. Had a shouting match on the phone w Otis. Magic tried to stall things and Lacob started posturing to the media. GSW and MIL got impatient and figured a way to work it out w/o ORL.

Bottom line--couldn't get D12 to commit past this year and the trade happened w/o them. Ladies and Gentlemen, we got screwed.....

So the Bucks basically moved Bogut to get rid of Jackson's contract, which comes off the books anyway? That's a bit of a waste. I'm not sure how well Ellis and Jennings will play together but it could be fun to watch.

In the long run the Warriors might fare better, so long as Bogut can get healthy. He's had some terrible luck with that nasty fall and then the fractured ankle this year.

Personally I see it as a better move for GSW, Bogut, an overpaid scorer, and an automatic high pick this offseason.

Maybe because I really can't see Jennings and Ellis working together. At least they'll clear some cap.

If both teams don't do any further trades until deadline, I'm not whether it was the smartest move for the Bucks.
Andrew Bogut is probably one of the leagues best defenders on his position. Jackson's performances were mediocre this year but his contract would also have come off the books soon enough.
I'm also not so sure if Monta Ellis will fit into the Bucks system as he did in GS. He's a fun guy to watch but definitely known for other things than his defense.
GS on the other way could really strenghten is interior defense if Bogut finally gets healthy.
Well, we'll see what deadlines bringes...

wow. pairing the two most low fg high usage scoring rate undersized gaurds is certainly going to be exciting.

but with scorers, unlike passers, cant share the only 1 ball. its like run tmc, unlike there isnt a passer like tim hardaway or forward like chris mullins. just two undersized scoring sprewells

Let's just hope that this deal won't affect Drew Gooden's numbers on the court. He's been a savior of my fantasy franchise with must-own performance(dropped Bogut to pick him up ). Was at rank 14th in the league but now 5th over shadowgrin's team. Thx Lin and Gooden.

I think both teams won the trade but the Bucks will be benefited more. Ellis without a doubt will score for the Bucks. Ellis can create points for himself and get things going when the other players aren't scoring. Jennings and Ellis will probably be the same as Curry and Ellis. That's how I think of it. Problem with Ellis is he's not good of a defender. Udoh though is another great plus to the Bucks. He has good defensive skills and is an exceptional offensive player. He can shoot the J post up and everything. He's still young and will develop into a great center. He needs better offense though. And Kwame Brown, well he will bring laughter among that locker room.

Warriors also get a good cut out of this trade. But everything is all "If's". Bogut is one of the best centers in the league when healthy. But he has a major injury going on and if he doesn't play good off of it, Warriors are screwed with Bogut. They took a big risk for Bogut. It can either pay off or blow off. And Jackson is hated in Oak City. But he can play good. He will be one of those players who scores here and there. But if Bogut doesn't produce, there is nothing there to replace Monta's ability to score.

Seeing Monta on a playoff contending team is exciting because he deserves better. I already knew he was happy based on his interview

The Bucks get a good scorer and a promising defensive big for two players they probably wouldn't have seen on the court this year. Not sure how Jennings-Ellis backcourt will work, probably a good load off Jennings not having to make all the plays. Not sure if this helps them get that #8 seed, but onw can hope.

Sucks to see Bogut not a Buck anymore though.

There should be a "who won" poll. Personally, I see this as a fleece job for Hammond and the Bucks. They deal a guy who's extremely injury prone, hasn't been even passable offensively since the arm injury and very well could be done along with a bad contract for a borderline all-star who was excellent when given the chance to play on a good team (see: his shocking 07-08 campaign) and they even managed to get a recent lottery pick out of it. The Curry/Ellis backcourt had its own major problems but one of the biggest was Steph Curry's chronic ankle injuries, and Jennings wants out anyway.

Bogut would eventually fill a need if he ever got healthy and Jax will expire after next year but we're still looking at a mediocre roster that'll never make the playoffs due to injuries and won't have an opportunity to get better unless David Lee and Andris Biedrins drop dead.

I think win-win for both teams, if Bogut won't get those injuries he will be a force in D and they get Jax which I don't know how it will workout. Bucks get a prolific scorer, underated Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh who can be a force on D and he has potential, Kwame Brown nothing to say there. Uh and Bucks now have very explosive backcourt of course if they will learn how to coexist together.

I actually like it for both sides. Hopefully Jackson can return to his former Warrior self. It Bogut stays healthy, the Warriors have a bright future. Until then, they have even less of a front court.
