Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

Has the admin of this forum thought about making a chat-board? I post frequently on another NBA forum called "No Drama Hoops"
http://forum.fullcourtpest.com/hoop-f3.html Over there we have a little chat board on the front page, where members gather during a big NBA game and talk basketball non-stop. Much more easier than talking ball on a thread when the game is on. It's also great for interacting about stuff that doesn't really deserve a thread.
Anyways, here's a screen shot of what it looks like:

The idea has come up at times in the past. We'll never rule it out completely but it's not something we're looking to do at this time.

Sorry to nitpick on things, but when we quote someone's post, it quotes the entire post instead of the highlighted part we want to quote. It's kinda annoying having to delete part you don't want to quote every single time. Is there a way to fix that?

Type a little bit in the reply window so you can preview it. Once in preview, there's a small window below where you can go to the post where you want to quote something, highlight that statement then click quote. It will only quote the one you highlighted.

Too bad it doesn't add the author in quick reply mode with the "quote selected" link.

It might do it for the inbuilt quick reply option, come to think of it. We've currently got that disabled since we're using a quick reply add-on, dating back to the time before it was added as an official feature of phpBB3.

That's worse, because you gotta click the reply button, scroll through all the posts on that page to find the one you want to quote. Take 2x longer.

you could just learn the quote tag, copy, paste. its not like remembering a tag is that hard.

It's no different from scrolling the thread to find the a post you want to quote, imo.

The forum should just grab our thoughts, no primitive physical movements need be involved.
