Tutorial: How to use CHNxiaoju's Real Shoe System

Use Jonesoft Generic Mod Enabler

Installation:
1. Download
2. You will get "jsgme_setup.exe". Double-click "jsgme_setup.exe"
3. Click RUN
4. Click NEXT
5. Accept Agreement, and click NEXT
6. Cick NEXT
7. Set Location to C:\Program Files\2K Sports\NBA 2K12 (known as "MAIN FOLDER"), and click NEXT
8. Click "Create a desktop icon", and click NEXT
9. Click NEXT
10. Click Finish

Check if you installed properly:
1. Go to Desktop, and right-click on your NBA2K12 Desktop icon
2. Go to "Open file location"
3. In the upper right, search for "JSGME"...and you should have two files:

4. Click CLOSE.

First time to use:
1. Go to Desktop, double-click on "Generic Mod Enabler" desktop icon
2. Leave this as "MODS" and click OK

3. Under Available Mods Column, you will see no mods yet available. Leave this window open.



4. Go to Desktop, and right-click on your NBA2K12 Desktop icon
5. Go to "Open file location"
6. Scroll up, and you will see "MODS" folder. Double-click to open **NOTE: Create a shortcut of MODS in your Desktop for easy access

7. You will see this, and leave it open.



PLACING A MOD:
1. Go to CHNxiaoju's Real Shoe System
2. Go to IFF folder

3. Choose which Shoes you want to use. right-click and Copy them to "MODS" folder. **For sample purposes, I choose LAL home and MIA away.

4. It will prompt you, just click continue. And you will see this:



5. Go back to "Generic Mod Enabler", and you will see the MODS "LAL home and MIA away" already.

6. Click on them (EG. LAL home & MIA away), then click Activate button ">".
7. Play and Enjoy!


What if I play the opposite? say, Lakers away and Heat at home?
1. To change to LAL away & MIA home. Deactivate first "LAL home and MIA away".
2. Click on them (EG. LAL home & MIA away), then click Deactivate button "<".


3.Go back to CHNxiaoju's IFF folder and repeat "PLACING A MOD steps 3 to 6".


WARNING: Do not delete/rename "folder or files" inside MODS folder when "LAL home & MIA away" are still activated.
Remember to Deactivate it first, before deleting/renaming them.

◙ Deleting the Activate files will corrupt your whole NBA2K12 files.
◙ But, when connected to the Internet: It will cause CRASHING-TO-DESKTOP, as NBA2K12 will download the missing file.
◙ However, if you are not connected to the internet. You may need to re-install the game again.


General Questions:

do we have to restart the game everytime?

Files such as shoe_000_00.iff, pshoes0600, nshoe_ingame_home_0602.iff are classified as non-startup files. Thus, you can activate them immediately.

However, files such as portrait.cdf, portrait.iff, portrait_hi.iff, titlepage.iff and etc are startup files, which needed to restart the game in order to function.

I would guess pshoes are loaded when you enter the game, not when you start NBA 2K12, so you could switch shoes while in the Main Menu.

That's only my guess, someone has to test it. But it is based on the fact that shoes are loaded and unloaded on demand while the game's running (Online Data and new shoes being downloaded and enabled while you run the game), so it's pretty much a sure thing.

game files loading in memory when U start the game... I mean start the match... for example I have made 2 .bat files for home and away games. so when there is a home game in my schedule I run home.bat and it copies files from folder 'Phi home' (i'm playin' for 76ers) and from other '* away' folders into 2K12 folder... then I start the match and all shoes looks fine for away games I runnin' Away.bat file.

also I can sujest some upgrade to this tutorial U can create 4 folders: 2 for your's team home and away shoes ('MyTeam home' and 'MyTeam away' for example) and 2 for other teams ('Other home' and 'Other away'), after this using REDitor U'r get all players ID that are in Ur team, and copy proper pshoes****.iff from CHNxiaoju folders to 'MyTeam Home' or 'MyTeam away', and other pshoes***.iff files to 'Other home' and 'Other Away' folders respectively... for example I copied all the files from all '[team] away' folder to folder 'Other Away'... then I get players IDs that in my team (playing MyPlayer mode) and mooved them in 'MyTeam Away'... then do the same for Home shoes... then I've wrote 2 .bat files, but U can just add this 4 folders to Jonesoft Generic Mod Enabler like described above and use it in game berfore starts every match... hope it would be usefull

This is true as I've tried it a number of times last night. I copied all the home shoes in the NBA 2K12 directory and the away shoes in the Mods folder inside. I just activate the away files if I'm playing away.

Manual: 7 STEPS
1. Go to CHNciaoju's Iff Folder

2.Choose which Shoes you want to use. right-click and Copy them to "MODS" folder. **For sample purposes, I choose LAL home and MIA away.

3. Copy all the pshoeXXXX.iff files inside "LAL home" folder and paste in your NBA2K12 Main Folder
4. Confirm replace pshoeXXXX.iff files
5. Copy all the pshoeXXXX.iff files inside "MIA away" folder and paste in your NBA2K12 Main Folder
6. Confirm replace pshoeXXXX.iff files
7. Play.



JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler: 3 STEPS
1. Go to CHNciaoju's Iff Folder

2. Place "LAL home" and "MIA away" folder inside MODS Folder

3.Click Enable & Play

It is because some rosters are not compatible with the shoe system.

I know, but someone asked if there's a way to make it work and he gave a solution that doesnt seem to work.

I believe this is the best way to use the shoe system. You just have to make sure that the roster is compatible or you're stuck in using xiajou's roster.

I used to make the official 2K roster compatible and release it on my thread. I stopped due to busy schedule and inactivity of the thread. I have the latest official 2K roster (5/5/12) made compatible to the shoes system. If you want, you can PM me and I'll send it to you.

hey guys.. i recently downloaded fiba 2k12 1.0.. can i use jsgme to apply that mod? if so, how? i really don't want to lose my original 2k12 game files as i also am using ultimate base roster mod.. thanks for the help.

leovince23, it's exactly the same procedure. Install FIBA 2K12 to NBA 2K12\MODS\FIBA instead of NBA 2K12, than you can activate it like the tutorial above.
