very easily, but the only program that properly imported the DXT5, no mipmaps, texture was the 3DM mod tool - viewtopic.php?f=143&t=83389


Glad I wasn't the only one annoyed by this, no one other than me had mentioned it before this so I was a bit worried it was just me.

Added two downloads to the first post. I'm also planning on renovating the First Post for better organization.

The 30 Team Uniform Lighting Update will now reside in this release thread. I am currently working on adding the effect to all of the retro and alternate uniforms. The previous discussion thread is now located here - viewtopic.php?f=144&t=83690 - in the tutorials section.



The new download's textures were created by the amazing c0nr4d! He graced us with his epicness by creating high resolution versions of the NBA Live Ability Icons which I then imported into the 2K12 gamedata.iff. This download also contains the Replay Target Remover so no worries if you wanted to combine them.

I'm not planning on doing it, but its 1 texture in the gamedata file, you can check the tutorials section to figure out how to use the mod tool and export/import the texture.



So I went ahead and updated all 488 uniforms in NBA 2K12 with the lighting update. You can download them all (400 MB) by clicking this - Complete Uniform Lighting Update

This will update EVERY uniform in the game. If you have patches you want saved, back them up BEFORE overwriting. If you do not like this effect you will have to REINSTALL.

All 488 default uniforms in the game have been updated (except for the hidden EBC ones). I have not fully tested each uniform, PLEASE, if you find a uniform without the effect on it or any other issues let me know!

I've updated the "external link" from GameFront to my webspace here on the NLSC. If you ever get an error downloading it, try reloading the page and download again. Sometimes the external link downloads have issues redirecting to the actual download.

I went through all the NBA courts and looked at the ones that could use a small, quick, easy, update. I ended up editing 10. All use default textures (except the Boston Baseline) and I didn't do any hex magic for the colors, just very simple edits.

Boston - Larger Parquet, New Baseline Logo
Trail Blazers - New Lane, Removed Inner Lane Lines & Ticks
Grizzlies/Bobcats - Removed Small Logos within 3pt Line
Thunder/Raptors - Removed Inner Lane Lines & Ticks (I did NOT attempt the new 3D Raptors Baseline Logo)
Jazz/Kings/Magic/Rockets - Removed Inner Lane Ticks (I did NOT attempt the King's lighter Semi-Circle)

These are "Open Source" so feel free to use them as a base for your own work. Like I said, these were basic, quick edits that I thought I would share.

The file (not link) seems to be broken. I'm getting this error in 7-Zip:

"Data error in Complete Uniform Lighting Update\Seriosuly, Read the Readme\uh018.iff File is broken

I tried downloading it several times and am getting the same error.

The some retro teams don't seem to have the shadow effect applied to their uniforms the ones i've noticed are the Magic, Nuggets, Rockets and Hornets

I just redownloaded to make sure it worked and it was fine for me, but I am using Winrar. Has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks for the list, I'll be sure to check those when I get back from work tomorrow. I know the effect was different on uniforms with the different short lengths.

Just realized that I've seen the "Swish" in almost every play The team wordmarks will look much better.

Thanks guys, and yea, I'm not crazy enough to try it.....I was going to, but I couldn't find a base court that looked similar enough to the Raptors court while also having different baseline logos on each end (so the 3D effect looks right on both sides)

The Red signature was the same issue as the Raptors court, I couldn't find a good base parquet court to edit off of.

I did the Portland court with 3D edits. I shrunk the red lanes so the would fit behind the foul line, then expanded the lower portion of the original lane into the big lane. I had issues UV editing that part though, which is why the wood got bigger . If it will help, open it up and take a look at what I did, and as it says in the first post, that is Open Source, feel free to edit it as much as you want and release.
The Boston parquet size was done with UV editing.

I had the same problem with 7-zip.

The solution is to try a different extractor. I used Universal Extractor and it worked just fine.
