CLEVELAND TO RELOCATE?

Five days since the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Miami Heat in Game Six to take the NBA crown, Cleveland Cavaliers' owner Dan Gilbert has astonishingly sold his team to former First Lady of the United States and Nevada native Thelma Pat Nixon. The call is expected to made to move the team to Las Vegas, the only great city in the U.S to not have a major basketball franchise. Locals in Sin City are said be be "stoked" at the possibility of the NBA coming to their town.

However, the potential move has been widely criticised by everyone except from David Stern and 'tha boiz' for not having a large, stable fanbase and the fact that if the Cavs move there then no-one will want to watch anyway. Arguably there are plenty of basketball fans in Vegas, proven by the 2007 All-Star game and the Summer League that normally takes place there; of course not occurring due to the lockout.

Let's just wait and see what happens?

2011 DRAFT CLASS BANNED FOR LIFE!

All 60 members of the 2011 NBA Draft have been banned from professional basketball for live, says sources.

According to the source, a large party was held by the parents of first overall pick Kyrie Irving, where the draftees engaged in acts involving Class A drugs and a large amount of alcohol. The men were banned for many reasons, the main one being for bringing the game into disrepute; however I think that they should be more interested in trying to avoid large jail terms.

The only contenders for Rookie of the Year in 2012 will be Ricky Rubio and Robert Vaden, of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder respectively, as well as any D-Leaguers that are signed.

This comes along with the shocking revelations of the Cavaliers relocation to Las Vegas.

LOCKOUT OVER!

It's over! Huzzah!

David Stern announced that the only change of the season will be the 58-game schedule; every team will play each other twice. Play-offs will remain the same.

Stern also announced that the proposed move of the Cleveland Cavaliers to Las Vegas will go ahead, with staff and logo's etc. to be decided. Each player on the Cav's roster will be able to choose whether to go to the new city, or will be moved to a top five pick from last season to be dealt at random.

Not long now folks, we get to see some good 'ball played. Can Lebron and co. get it done? Will the C's have one last run with the aging vets? Or will a beastish young team come and destroy anyone? Stay tuned for a season preview!

THREE CAVS RUN AWAY FOR NEVADA

Arguably the Cavalier's three best players, F Antawn Jamison, C Anderson Varejao and G Baron Davis have all jumped ship to different teams today. The Minnesota Timberwolves decided to pick up Varejao to fill the void they have at the 5. He replaces Darko Milicic in the starting line-up which is definitely a great pick up. Antawn Jamison has gone off to the Utah Jazz and Baron Davis was forced to go to the Toronto Raptors, probably worse than Las Vegas.

Las Vegas are unlucky now, as they now only have Ramon Sessions and Joey Graham as solid players. Definitely a lottery pick this year.

LAS VEGAS LIGHTNING UNVEILED

The ex-Cleveland Cavaliers have been revealed as the Las Vegas Lightning at a press conference today. Ken Gilmore was announced as head coach for the team, whilst the general manager position has gone to a man called "C-Black Clutchdaddy". Jim Boylan will be heading the assistant coaches.

A promotional video was played featuring the aqua, orange and white jerseys and featured Ramon Sessions and Joey Graham. The Lightning will open up their season at home against the Indiana Pacers before embarking on their first road trip to Atlanta almost a week later.

There have been mumblings that the Lightning will be looking to deal Omri Casspi and a big man in the near future as they try and scrape together an okay team after the losses of Baron Davis, Anderson Varejao and Antawn Jamison. Las Vegas are allegedly looking for some veteran help as well as a young, explosive big to help complete their starting five.

LIGHTNING MAKE FIRST TRADE; ACQUIRE HILL

Image

The Las Vegas Lightning have made a move to move them closer to mediocrity, nabbing veteran F Grant Hill and F/C Channing Frye in return for F Omri Casspi, F Samardo Samuels and a '12 second round pick. Hill has had a career plagued by injuries after a stellar start, the former Rookie of the Year posting massive numbers in his hey day. Channing Frye is also a massive step up, and should provide an excellent help for the new side. Omri Casspi did not play a game with the Lightning but was apparently not in the GM's good books. Samardo Samuels is also a bit of a loss for Las Vegas, the sophomore looking to come off the back from his solid rookie year.

So, all in all, Las Vegas have traded some up and coming talent, as well as a 31-35th pick, for a sure to retire Grant Hill and an experienced but not amazing Channing Frye.

Also, Las Vegas have signed G Jermaine Taylor to a 2 year, $2.39M deal to add some bench depth.

HILL TO KNICKS IN BLOCKBUSTER

Grant Hill has gotten his wish to have a shot at a ring after being traded to New York for Chauncey Billups. Also include in the trade was Alonzo Gee and a '13 1st Round Draft Pick from the Lightning. Las Vegas were allegedly shopping Hill to teams such as the Lakers, Thunder and defending champs Dallas, however a deal could not be reached. Billups will wear number 4 with Las Vegas.

In other news, Lightning start SG Anthony Parker has also announced his retirement, effective at the end of the season.

Wouldn't Rubio be banned to? He's technically in the 11 Class because he stayed in spain for his original rookie year..

Forgot the transaction report in the December recap, just added, Bogut and Greg Oden were amongst those dealt. Really dislike the Billups deal but oh well... January to be up soon.

GRAHAM GETS HIS WISH; TRADED FOR SCALABRINE

Lightning forward Joey Graham has been dealt to the Chicago Bulls; sources say. Graham became unhappy over course of the season, due to Grant Hill joining the side at the start of the season. Graham has been dealt for three-point specialist G Kyle Korver and F Brian Scalabrine. The trade has happened just before the Lightning's first game of January after a 10 day break.

Scalabrine, a fan favourite, will force Luke Hanrangody to the IR for the time being.

Lightning fans are said to be extremely unhappy with Graham, though the addition of Korver and B-Scal will bring some exciting play to the team in the doldrums.

BULLS TRADE GRADE: C+
