Player Rating for NBA Live 2005

Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

Postby Bang on Fri May 21, 2004 11:57 am

70

I don't like white jason williams too much...but he has improved.
Yeah, VC has a 99 dunk and jump rating which jacks up his ratings...but 89 means he's better than 04 shaq, no? 85 or 86 or 87 maybe.

Michael Redd? (If this has been done then...Damon Jones..I don't think he has been done?)

89 doesn't mean he's better than Shaq, it means he can do more things than Shaq, all round players or athletic and quick players always get higher or same ratings as some players that are effective but don't have as much versatility.
Also Jason Williams isn't even that good, he can just pass and is quick, apart from that he's not that good a shooter and he's not a dunker, can't rebound, and can steal, that's about all. I have Williams at 70 for 2004 anyways.

Michael Redd - 78

Is Randolph really better than K-Mart, I mean game wise, since Randoplh is a pretty garbage defender and can't block, and is also not as fast or atheletic?

Camby - 68 or 72

i rated Carter 85 and it is good for him.

Gilbert Arenas i say 86

Now this one I don't get? Gibert isn't better in anything but passing, quickness, speed and steals. Carter gets fg, 3pt, ft, jump, dunk, block, strength, inside scoring, primacy. I don't get how Arenas' rating gets higher, it just doesn't work.

Josh Howard - 65

Well Sabonis has to adjust back to the NBA (If he does return) and he is old...The European game and the NBA game is quite different. The NBA is a bit more physical (maybe a lot more? I don't really know much about Euroleague). Yes he has been great in the past, still I'm just a bit skeptical. He is close to retiring anyhow...

Derrick Coleman..(If that's been done then...Mamadou N'Diaye)

Mark Blount 45? Do you know who Mark Blount is, one of the most improved players and a very sort after free agent, has a nasty hook in the lane, can run the floor well for a big, but has bad hands (clumsy) but they're quick, a decent blocker, and averaged 10.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 0.98 steals, and 1.29 blocks in 29.3 minutes this year, and shot 56.6%, 2nd in the league.

Derrick Coleman - 63-65

I think he confused Mark Blount with Corie Blount. Possible? :?:

Ooh tough one.. Well, high school point guard... hmm... well... hmm... umm... hmm... well.. hmm... uhhh.. hmm... ehh...ohh... i dunno... umm...hmm.. 58. Hasn't played a game in the NBA yet... his dribble and speed ratings would get his rating pretty high.

Mark Blount would get a 60 in my books.

Hmm.. Desmond Mason?

Mason is a 64

Which Mason? Roger Mason, Anthony Mason, cause I know Desmond Mason shouldn't be a 64.

Ronald Murray - 72, handles, hops, can shoot inside the arc and outside, extremely quick, and we've seen he can score, now if he added some defense to that he'd be much better.

Brent Barry? or Luke Ridnour

Brent Barry can pass, can shoot, can steal, can dunk, can rebound
but cannot defend anyone, 78

Jon Barry, probably a 55-57 player. But Brent Barry should be down around 72 IMO since he's not the most athletic guy.

Tim Thomas 70... This guy is just about average on all game areas...

Kwame Brown? That's a tough one for ya.
