WHAT HAVE YOU DONE: Flatout 3: Chaos & Destruction

Flatout 1 is a game that I love, hard and long. It's no holds barred physics based racing with some nitro for wreckin' shit and an awesome (cosmetic) damage system. Get screwed over in a race because a random cone flipped your car and ejected your driver from the seat? Tough shit, restart. And the damn game had a ragdoll olympics which did a good job of slightly turning your vehicle off center so you couldn't just drive straight and press a button to eject. It's one of the my favorite racing games, right up there with Burnout 2, GRiD and Filth. No fancy cars, just beaters and shitty race tracks....almost realistic.

Flatout 2 was good. Not as good as 1 IMO, but it did fine just expanding on everything, cleaning up the cars, and getting a bit fantastical with the tracks. Ultimate Carnage, the graphics update of 2, threw more cars on the track, but the game played the same.

I loaded up Steam to do the wishlist thing today, and I see an ad for Flatout 3: Chaos & Destruction. I nearly shat myself. A new Flatout?!!??1 YES.

Then I watched the trailers....three trailers, all containing the same footage with different color effects and shitty use of speed up/slow down changes...I'll post one to prevent further mercy bannings

WHAT THE FUCK. We go from the best, unapologetic, physics, tough shit you hit something, racers, to a fucking game where if you hit a wall you go UP it??! Was that a tank and a double decker BUS?! Fack, I mean, ugh.....I don't know if I have the energy to shit on this game. This is terrible, part of me died, and I refuse to believe that anyone is trying to promote this game properly with those shitty trailers.....

If Bugbear Entertainment, the makers of 1 & 2, made this, I think I would just lose faith in video games. Thankfully this shitty Team 6 took a break from making Wii shovelware and ULTIMATE MONSTER TRUCKS to take a shit on one of my favorite video game franchises.
