I love how some in the NY media are calling this an "Isiah move". Well, if Zeke did advise Dolan on this, it's the smartest thing he's ever done for the Knicks.

Best/Worst Drafting Teams
And for the bottom of the table New York Knicks? Not a single star among the thirty-two picks made,

Some fun stats.

Charles Oakley Tells All

...and tells it like it is.

For one, if real recognize real, the Knicks of current vintage don’t look all that familiar to Oak.

“They’ve got hype,” said Oakley. “Hype don’t mean nothing.”

Can Mike D’Antoni’s uptempo methods work in New York?

“I don’t think so, but that’s his coaching style. I mean, they knew when they signed him. When you go buy a Bentley, you know it’s not a Volkswagen.”

Oakley saved by far his harshest assessment for Isiah Thomas, whose specter still hovers over the franchise long after he was supposedly deposed.

“I don’t even understand how he got a job with management,” said Oakley. “He had nothing to do with the Knicks. Then he talked bad about the Knicks. If I see him, he’d better turn around and walk the other way.”

Not a kind of guy I'd hire as a diplomat but like the Oak, especially his straight talking.

Thank you Oak, for preaching the truth. This current group of 'Knicks' will never win shit - we have a brain-dead owner, a fraud coach and no toughness.

This!
And concerning the owner, I'm very curious about which moves they will make when it comes to finding a successor for Chauncy Billups as starting PG.

So I hear this thread will go into a deep deep sleeping mode soon while the Nets thread out takes the place.

Short term, I'm guessing Toney Douglas is being primed for the role.

It'll be a very short term. Eventually, the Knicks will make a big push for Chris Paul.

I forgot about that scenario. A Knicks team with a trio of Paul, Melo and Amar'e could probably be pencilled in for around 50 wins a year and some decent playoff runs.

Not taking the Knicks seriously until I see committment to defense, and that goes for Amar'e & Carmelo too. Look at the Heat and Celtics - their stars make an effort on 'D', why can't our guys do it?

Wilson Chandler said he wouldn't mind a return to the Knicks. I'd love to have him starting at the 2-spot.

I heard Nene is a FA - he's the inside prescence we desperately need.

Those would be solid moves for the Knicks and probably a lot more likely than bringing in Chris Paul, unless the Hornets get absolutely desperate to do a deal.

Knicks biggest problem is the coach. From everything I read and hear, Dolan's not too fond of him. Hopefully, it's his last year.

I could be mistaken, but isn't he in the final year of his contract anyway? If that's the case, it'll probably take an Eastern Conference Finals appearance with a glimpse of an NBA Finals appearance to bring him back for the 2013 season...assuming he makes it all the way through this one.

Of course, the possibility of Isiah Thomas making a return or at least influencing the hiring of the next coach is a dismal prospect.

According to the NY Daily News, Knicks are trying to bring back Jamal Crawford. That would be nice. He'd be great as a sixth man.

Outlaw wouldn't be a terrible pickup. Davis is supposed to be out 8-10 weeks though.

EDIT: The Kings just picked up Outlaw.
