its not an iff file : its jukebox.bin and no you can'topen with any kind of pro audio software without decompressing it first

thats how you get it open, the jukebox.bin has to be decompressed first, it contains all the files, arena files chants, everything. one guy in this post claims to have done it, but he hasn't shown proof.

He did it, but unfortunately for PS3, I think.

I'm 99% sure that the audio files are in the .bin files in the 2k files folder. I've been able to import them into Adobe Audition but it is entirely white noise. I think they need to be decompressed/decrypted in order to access them fully. I haven't been successful in finding a program that does that yet, but if there is one I think we can accomplish this.

I think I figured this out on PC!!!!!
You need nba 2k Audio Editor, and Windows Movie Maker, or equivalent programs.
In Audio Editor, open eventmusic.bin (when you open, it defaults to just jukeboxmusic.bin, you need to select all bins under options), scroll ALL the way down, and this is all the intro music.
In Movie Maker, just add the music only (no photo/video, or extract audio if you do), and then just add blank slots until the length is just about the same as the original 2k track. Then replace audio segment, and you should be good to go.
My methods of audio editing are a bit dated and time consuming, so when I actually try this, I will let you know how it goes.

As for the loading screen comments--I have not found a way to change it, only to delete it--reason being that this is a quicktime movie file, not an audio file--I have tried replacing the quicktime movie, but it just goes to a black screen,
It still has the "we're playing basketball" part, but then goes to a black screen (You can still hit start to play the game). I wish I knew a way to edit it myself.

By any chance do you know what numbers the other sounds are? Like cut scene music, arena sounds, etc?

So I'm still in the progress of discovering it--from what I can see, jukeboxmusic.bin is the main menu music. eventmusic.bin is the actual arena music--if you scroll all the way down, that's going to be the loading screen music; possibly the halftime music (I'm still in testing this out phase)--I don't know what numbers do what yet, sorry to say. I'm also trying to create the new draft class with cyberfaces, but got sidetracked with presentation mod attempts--so I'm sorry to say I don't currently have a list--it's mostly experimentation at this point. I think that the opening cutscenes (ie highlighting LeBron & Durant, usually "by the numbers" song) are quicktime movs like the opening intro, I could be wrong on that--if thats the case, that audio is not editable through this method. I am also trying to figure out if they separated nba regular seasons vs. playoff audio files---seems like this could be a lengthy process. If you cannot find them in eventmusic.bin, there is a possibility it could be on event_amb.bin

ok, so here's a brief rundown of what I got so far, but not a full walkthrough:
Let's say you want to change that loading screen music from the 2k set to tnt theme song.
Use an audio editor to trim your nba on tnt song. It must be a few seconds shorter than whatever your replacing. So I had 20.79 seconds--my file had to be like 17 seconds, don't know why. Anyways. In the 2k Audio Editor, Load loadingsequence.bin - These are all the loading sequence music files.
Let's say you want to edit the arena music. Most music files are broken up into 2 or 3 sections. in the eventmusic.bin, they range from 1699 to 1757. 1727-1729 is 3 parts of the BY the Numbers song. I edited that to my trimmed Flo Rida - GDFR song, Now, anytime By the Numbers would have played in the arena, it will be GDFR (I do not know specifically which is which--I think it is pretty random, to be honest, so you could put 3 different trimmed songs, if you really wanted. I am not 100% sure all of these are just arena, but I think they are. The edits did not change the intro music (ie by the numbers opening video), but they did change the music once I entered the arena.
File 1759 is the white house music.
1760-1790 appear to be halftime music, playoff, final, reg season, and/or association mode music--though I haven't been able to confirm yet--the only one i switched i haven't seen appear yet.
I made a descripton list but forgot to save it, I plan on making the edit list again at some point, but it is very time consuming.
1-1698 are just plain jane arena sounds, charge, claps, etc--I'm not going to label these ones--for me it is unnecessary.
