If it's not this week, he's not playing. Period. Had he signed with Sydney a month ago, we probably would have had a shot at seeing the season-opener live.

FIBA's the holdup here, and it really is getting silly. I can't for the life of me figure out why they couldn't have sorted this out months ago.

Unfortunate, but it's fair enough they're concerned about the finer details. Still, it could've been a great shot in the arm for the NBL so it will be a shame if things do ultimately fall through.

Sure, but I see no reason he can't suit up next weekend. Neither do the Kings.

Indication he may have wanted to go to Adelaide, perhaps?

Article said it's got to do with exclusion clauses. They won't cover his dodgy elbow. It sounds like it won't happen.

It isn't sounding hopeful, I agree. If they can't iron out these issues and protect his contract with the Bucks, I don't see him taking the risk.

Bogut's confirmed he wants to go to Sydney. Insurance still not finalised, won't play tomorrow night. Looks like they're trying to get it sorted for round two.

I saw that yesterday. Ticket prices are about $10-$15 more expensive than to see them at Gold Coast. Will hold off buying a ticket & may go in February. I've already got tickets to their game on Gold Coast against Tigers.

Better late than never, I guess. Should still draw some attention to the league, once again I'd definitely consider making the trip down to Sydney to catch a game if he ends up there.

Better this late than a day ago, I'd say. Debuting him in a 10,0000-seat stadium after a week of media hype is far better than a 3,500-seat stadium after two days of hype (no way the game was being moved to Hisense on 24 hours notice). Who knows, if it gets enough publicity, One might even think about running it at a reasonable hour.

Yep.

Got news overnight that the insurance would not cover me to play @NBL . I am hugely disappointed. I thank you all for your support.

It's a shame but given what he stands to lose without insurance, it's a smart decision.

Well, he will probably down here to wind up his career in 10 years time.

I'm not so sure. By that time I think he won't have a right arm yet, unless he borrows Anakin's.

As much as I would have loved to have seen him pretty much own every centre in the NBL, I'm glad he's not taking the risk.

Considering how much he was plagued by injuries during the last two seasons, I suppose you are right.

So anyways, myself & wife were thinking what can we watch on TV on a Friday night after our daughter has gone to sleep. So she says "doesn't NBL season start tonight? We could watch that". So I check the TV guide & the game is delayed coverage, being shown at 10.40pm, exactly 3 hours after tip-off. Meanwhile, there is shit all else on TV. Wait a sec, I lie. River Monsters is on for another half an hour. Aside from that, shite all.

Makes no sense whatsoever to not show at least Friday night games live. People are doctrinated to have a couple of drinks & watch footy on Friday nights. Guess what? Footy season is over, A-League is only on Foxtel (should be FTA, although not on One since they've proven themselves to be the worst sports channel on TV), no sports at all on, it makes perfect sense or so one would think....

It's an absolute joke. It would be nice to have alternatives to the Harry Potter movies on a Friday night.

I've decided to stay up & watch the Tigers v Kings game as I need my bball fix with no NBA. Let's see how Mills goes. My boy Baylor's Aaron Bruce looks solid so far. Interested to see what Harvey Grant's son (Horace Grant's nephew) is like. Looks like a vintage Clemson player so far.

EDIT: I like Arizona's Daniel Dillon more than Mills :P I've seeing Blaze play Tigers later this year. I'm liking that Tigers have athletic team this season, should be an exciting game to watch (Y)

Good call.

Mills basically sucked for three and a half quarters. Fantastic finish, though.

I actually went to bed at 3 quarter time. Glad I decided to tape 4th quarter. Mills and Udoka got hot. Shame One didn't show it live. A lot of people missed out on exciting finish.

See, there you go bringing logic into the equation.

I absolutely agree though. Those are the opportunities the league needs to capitalise on and the pitch they should be making to the network.

Mills play shit in first half but better in second half. Got his team back into it in the fourth quarter and helped them win alongside Udoka. Happy that I stayed up to see the whole game. :)

I think they've already made that pitch. The response: "Nobody likes basketball, it's all fouls & timeouts."

I'm actually glad I went to bed at midnight & taped 4th quarter because I was actually fresher this morning & think it's more enjoyable when you're not dead tired (Y)
