The Boston Celtics are coming off one of the most painful defeats in their history. They had the Lakers in Game 7 until a late 3rd quarter surge by LA. The rest is history. The Boston Celtics are getting old they were bruised and battered after a tough series. GM Danny Ainge knew they needed something. Danny first off resigned Pierce and Allen rumors of the big 3 being finished were snuffed out. Then Danny decided the only way to beat the Lakers would be to match their frontline. He first signed Jermaine O'Neal and then Shaquille O'Neal on the vets minimum for 2 years. Ainge then signed Delonte West to allow Nate to play as a two guard and Von Wafer a explosive scorer if they needed it. The Boston Celtics will first line up against the Miami Heat's new Big 3.
I will be playing:
12 min quarters (didn't feel like 10 were enough
Superstar
Sim (with collisons bumped up)
82 Games.
I will play around 40 games or more depends on what I feel like.
Will play a few seasons with the big 3 then rebuild.
Will the Boston Celtics Big 3 win another title or will they be one hit wonders?

On October 26th there was anticipation in Boston. The Miami Heat were in town the team dubbed the team to beat by many people before the season started. The Celtics and their fans didn't like that Boston are the reigning champions of the East. Boston and Miami looked set to be a great rivalry throughout the season and playoffs. Miami started off hot due to some nice shooting from new Heat player Chris Bosh and Heat veteran Dwyane Wade. Boston fired back though by grinding it out on defense and thanks to Rajon Rondo's play making on offense. At the half Miami were up 54-48. Paul Pierce had been in foul trouble for most of the half and it showed in Boston's offense. The third quarter would be a good one for Boston with Pierce staying out of foul trouble for most of the quarter and thanks to some nice moves from KG. Miami were up 1 after the third. The fourth quarter was set to be a big one and it didn't disappoint. Ray and KG led the Celtics with big shots while the Heat's big 3 kept them in the contest. With 8 seconds left Mike Miller hit a big shot in Allen's face to give Miami a 1 point lead with 6 seconds remaining. Boston wanted to win Paul Pierce would hit the game winner from a Rondo assist. Boston were better for Miami for now......

Celtics forward Kevin Garnett was asked about Durant's play " Our defense was embarrasing I'm embarrased to be standing here being asked about Kevin Durant dropping fifty on our defense a Joke!"

It was a very unusual game for the Celtics against the Raptors. They shot poorly from the field in the first half and were lucky to still be in the game. Ed Davis was killing the Celtics on the glass he ended up with 14 points and 19 boards. But it would not be enough as Boston's defense came to play in the second half. Paul Pierce had 23 points and 7 rebounds on the night. Kevin Garnett was also solid with 22 points and 9 boards. Von Wafer contributed big off the bench with 18 points. Celtics down Hawks in shootout

The Celtics extended their winning streak to two with a nice win over the Atlanta Hawks. It was never easy though Joe Johnson and Jamal Crawford made it hard scoring a combined 56 points (Jamal 22 and Joe 34). But the Celtics lead by Kevin Garnett, Glen Davis and Rajon Rondo were just too good. Rondo on the night had 17 points, 13 assists, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Kevin Garnett scored 19 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Glen Davis was big off the bench with 18. The Celtics will face the Nets at home in two days time. via BasedWorld Sports

Celtics overpower Nets

Image

Big Baby Davis provided a spark off the bench with 12 points and 7 rebounds

If Boston lost to the Nets today their would've been a lot of angry Celtics fans already coming off a 3 game losing streak to Cleveland, Portland and Chicago losing to the Nets would have been an embarassing performance. The whole Celtics team were not gonna let that happen they stepped us. Paul Pierce said "At times like these teamwork will get you wins again" It did with 6 players in double digits in scoring and the team displayed its teamwork with 25 assists. Rajon Rondo had 13 of them. Rondo was definitely the main man scoring 17 points and 13 assists giving Devin Harris fits everytime Rondo had the ball. Paul Pierce was ice cold going 3-18 from the field but got to the charity stripe to collect 11 points, he also grabbed 7 rebounds. Brook Lopez showed he can become one of the league's best pivots with 23 points and 8 rebounds. Damion James a first round pick also showed promised with 17 points. The Celtics won 94-101. They will return home to face Denver on Wednesday.

Celtics take over fourth quarter in New York

Image

Rajon Rondo led the Celtics to a 118-112 victory over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday with an awesome performance. Knicks papers during the week had reported the way to beat Boston was to make Rondo a scorer they were wrong. Rondo attacked, attacked and attacked. Causing lots of foul trouble for the Knicks. Rondo also made them pay by converting 10 of 12 free throws as well as going 9-18 from the field to collect 28 points. He also dropped 12 dimes. Kevin Garnett was asked by the Doris Burke after the win about Rondo's play. "He was great man he's truly growing into a superstar. He was the big reason for the win," Knicks fans could not believe the fourth quarter turnaround leaving in disgust. Kevin Garnett collected a double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, he also had 5 assists. Ray Allen scored 23 and Paul Pierce scored 20. Landry Fields and Amare Stoudemire kept the Knicks in it. Amare had 20 points and 15 rebounds, Fields had 23 points. The Celtics will face Atlanta in Boston tommorow night on TNT

Celtics v Magic Christmas Day Preview
By Wes McGee
The Celtics and Magic have created a new rivalry in the past couple of seasons. It began in the 2008-2009 playoffs when Boston were pushed to seven games by the up and coming Orlando Magic and beaten. The Celtics were never going to win the championship anyway without defensive enforcer Kevin Garnett. They would rematch the next season in the Eastern Conference Finals where Boston would overpower Orlando in six games to face LA in the finals. This season Boston are 18-9 Orlando 20-10. Boston have played well but have been a little inconsistent at home. This game is in Orlando. Boston won this game last year without Paul Pierce. I expect them to win again this year. They are playing great as a team and Rajon Rondo has taken his scoring to another level. The Magic do not play offense well they either give the ball to Dwight in the post let him go to work or wait for the double to come to pass it off for a three. This strategy hasn't worked against Boston in the past with Kendrick Perkins a great post defender likes to get under Dwight's skin and make it tough. Orlando will need to pass the ball round but their biggest problem is they don't have a guy who makes his own shot. I say Boston win 99-90.

Rondo tears Magic defense apart in the second half

Rajon Rondo was a man on a mission on Christmas Day. Unhappy with the Celtics performance in the first half where they gave up 58 points Rondo let his teammates know all about it in the locker room at half time. "He just told us we're the best defensive team in the league we can't allow breakdowns like that," Veteran Kevin Garnett told the press after the game. "He also said we've gotta keep moving on offense he was also the angriest I've seen him". This is more proof of Rondo becoming the team's leader providing vital leadership a point guard needs to have. The Boston Celtics responded in the second half allowing only 42 points in the second half and sharing the ball around with 28 assists. Rajon Rondo had 11 second half assists. He finished the game with 13 points and 16 assists. Ray Allen was the team's top scorer with 18 points. Paul Pierce provided good offense in the second half after a shaky start. He also hit the game winner with 13 seconds to play. The Magic had a chance to tie or win the game but Rajon Rondo blocked Gilbert Arena's shot with 2 seconds to play. Dwight Howard didn't get enough of the ball finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds due to Gilbert Arenas and Jason Richardson's chucking. Arenas went 11-28 from the field and Richardson went 12-25 from the field including 2-10 from downtown. The Celtics will face Indiana next Tuesday.

Celtics acquire Jeff Green

Image

It was confirmed today that Danny Ainge has traded Nate Robinson and a 2012 first round pick in return for the Oklahoma City Thunder's Jeff Green. When Danny Ainge was asked about the effect of the trade Danny said "It's great we've got a solid guy who can play the 3 and the 4," He's also young and we feel he has great potential." The Celtics drafted Green with the fifth pick of the 2007 draft but he was immediately shipped to Seattle in the Ray Allen deal.

Celtics fail at key moments lose to Pacers

Image

Video Here:http://community.2ksports.com/community/media/viewer.cfm?mediaid=4384839
The Celtics were coming off a tough win over the Orlando Magic. They played great defense against the Pacers for three quarters but failed to get enough stops to beat the Pacers in the fourth quarter. It was a sloppy contest, The Celtics shot 36% from the field and the Pacers shot 38% from the field. The Celtics bench including newly acquired Celtic Jeff Green played well providing 35 points. But the Pacers capitalized on the Celtics bad boxing out with 12 second chance points. The Pacers had 19 turnovers and still managed to pull out a win. Danny Granger scored 33 points for the Pacers but had his teammates angry attempting 35 shots from the field and hitting just 12. He also attempted 10 three pointers and only hit two of them. Roy Hibbert continued to show improvement scoring 18 points grabbing 13 boards and swatting away 3 shots. Rajon Rondo top scored for Boston with 17 points. He wasn't throwing great passes like normal. He kept Boston in the game though with 4 steals. The Big Three were quiet Kevin Garnett only had 12 points, Paul Pierce had just 11 going 4-15 from the field and Ray Allen had just 6 points going 3-14 from the field. Jeff Green in his Celtic debut scored 8 points in 22 minutes. He also grabbed 4 points and dropped 2 assists. The Celtics now have to face the Detroit Pistons tomorrow night in Detroit.

Jermaine O'Neal provides lift off bench leading the Celtics 108-99 over the Pistons

Image

Jermaine O'Neal shoots a hook shot

Boston has been playing inconsistent lately losing to some teams way below their level. The whole team was determined for this not to happen last night and it didn't. Ray Allen was on fire shooting 5-8 from deep finishing up with 21 points. Kevin Garnett arguably had his best game of the season with 17 points, 14 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocks. Rajon Rondo was quite on the night but Delonte West and the rest of the bench stepped up. Jermaine O'Neal provided some great play in the fourth quarter collecting 7 rebounds in the quarter and 4 points. He finished the night with 8 points and 8 rebounds. He also showed why he was an MVP candidate a few seasons back with solid defense swatting 3 shots away. Ben Gordon had 34 points for Detroit but did nothing but jack shots going 12-29 from the field. Ben Wallace played like Ben Wallace of the Pistons championship year with 7 points, 15 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocks. The Celtics will take on the Hornets on New Years eve.

Jonas Jerebko will miss 4 weeks after injuring his back in the loss.

Yeah if they did I might have but I'm more of a defense focused guy in 2k11 I get pretty mad when I give up lots of baskets. So those Amare would probably drive me crazy!

Breaking News: Nash to Toronto

Image

It has just been confirmed that the Phoenix Suns have traded Steve Nash to his hometown Toronto Raptors in return for Leandro Barbosa and Reggie Evans. Nash when asked about the deal was happy to finish his career in Toronto but was also sad after all the time he had spent in Phoenix. "I'll miss the fans, players and coaches for sure. I'd like to thank them for everything I had a great time there." Suns coach Alvin Gentry told Media they will play a slower paced tempo now that Steve is gone but will still run a fair bit.

Hornets get Rondo'd lose 112-103

Image

Rajon Rondo was doing everything against the Hornets

Rajon Rondo was not happy with his performance against the Pistons on Wednesday Night. He would've been happy with his performance on New Years Eve against the Hornets. He finished up with 13 points, 17 assists and 2 steals. Rondo after the game said "My job is to control the offense and get the guy's shots. I felt I did that pretty damn well tonight," He sure did Kevin Garnett finished up with 17 points and Ray Allen with 14. Jeff Green and Delonte West both scored 11 off the bench. Paul Pierce had an off night shooting 3-16 from the field. Marcus Thornton was the Hornets top scorer with 24 but got lots of death stares from his teammates after jacking shot after shot. He went 9-27 from the field and 4-13 from 3 point land. Chris Paul and David West both collected double doubles (CP3 17 points and 10 assists, D West 16 points and 11 rebounds). Hornets Coach Monty Williams has announced that players and coaching staff will have serious talks about Thornton's shot selection.

Celtics survive fourth quarter scare v Spurs extend streak to five

Image

The Celtics played great defense for 3 quarters including only allowing the Spurs to shoot 15 points the third quarter. They had a 21 point lead. That's the highest they would get as the Spurs shot the lights out in the fourth quarter to shoot 40 points in the fourth quarter. "There was nothing we could do they were hitting unbelievable shots," Kevin Garnett said after the game. Paul Pierce was great in the first half but couldn't do the same in the second half. He was the Celtics top scorer with 16 points. Six Celtics were in double digits for scoring. Kendrick Perkins played great defense with three steals and four blocks. Kevin Garnett showed all around excellence with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Glen Davis was big off the bench with 14 points. Jeff Green also helped out with 13 points off the bench. Tim Duncan scored 21 points and grabbed 17 rebounds including 5 offensive. Richard Jefferson scored 18 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. The Celtics made some big plays down the stretch despite the Spurs hot shooting. They won 100-96.

Celtics lose third game of season to Bulls

The Celtics lost another close game to the Bulls this season. This time Delonte West missed a shot on the buzzer which went in and out. "I don't know man we keep struggling against them," Kevin Garnett told the media after the game. He also thinks they'll be fine against them if they face each other in the playoffs. The Celtics this time out rebounded the Bulls but still lost. Luol Deng top scored for Chicago with 28. Carlos Boozer scored 12 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Joakim Noah also played a strong game with 11 points, 13 rebounds and 3 steals. Derrick Rose had an off night shooting 6-20 from the field. Rajon Rondo struggled in the second half with foul trouble he finished with 14 points, 3 steals and 11 assists in 32 minutes. Ray Allen hit two clutch treys going 4-9 from three to finish with 22 points. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett both had off shooting nights.

Rajon Rondo dunks on Dwight Howard. Rondo had 19 points on the night

The Boston Celtics are playing well. They are now on a four game winning streak and their defense has been great lately. This is mainly due to team defense which is being led by Kevin Garnet and Rajon Rondo. Rondo last night did not get his usual steal numbers collecting just one steal. Instead he blocked 3 shots. He had 19 points on the night and also had 10 assists. Ray Allen shot well for most of the night scoring a game high 22 points. Paul Pierce had 15 and Kevin Garnett had 14. Shaquille O'Neal provided great play off the bench with 7 points and 9 rebounds in 17 minutes. Jason Richardson was the Magic's top scorer with 22. Dwight Howard was quite with 14 points and just 9 rebounds in 39 minutes. Gilbert Arenas shot selection has continued to earn him angry looks from his teammates going 0/10 from downtown. Brandon Bass grabbed a game high 14 rebounds.

Celtics hold off Jazz for nice win

Image

Paul Pierce was great with 21 points and 8 rebounds
The Celtics have extended their winning streak to 6 with a nice win over the Utah Jazz. Coach Doc Rivers called it a respectable performance after keeping the Jazz to just 10 points in the first quarter but they need to maintain focus after allowing 38 points in the second quarter. The Celtics finished up winning 95-88. Kevin Garnett led Boston's defense with 6 steals and 2 blocks. The Jazz had 21 turnovers to Boston's 15 it was a very scrappy game. Deron Williams scored 21 points and threw 10 assists. Al Jefferson had a solid performance with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Rajon Rondo was Boston's top scorer with 25, he also had 13 assists. Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen had quite night's on the offensive end.

Lakers outlast Celtics 112-104

Image

Andrew Bynum with the putback over a wave of Celtics

The Celtics and Lakers are no strangers. They have probably one of the most famous rivalries in the NBA after many finals series. In the last series it would take seven gruelling games in which the Lakers defeated the Celtics to win the championship by just four points. This game was no different both teams fans wanted a win even if it was just a regular season matchup. The Celtics got out to a good start leading by nine in after the first quarter. After that the Lakers came to play and won every other quarter. Ray Allen kept it close scoring 31 points on 7-12 three pointers tying Reggie Miller's record.

No defense could stop Kobe on the night

Kobe was unstoppable the Celtics threw double and triple teams at him but nothing worked he scored 42 points shooting 17-13 from the field. Andrew Bynum was impressive with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Paul Pierce scored 19 points but Ron Artest made him work hard for every bucket. Rajon Rondo had an off shooting night going 2-13 from the field but instead he threw 18 assists.

Pau Gasol couldn't get anything easy he finished with 8 points and 13 rebounds

Kobe and Ray have always produced great battles this game was no different

The only bad news on the night for the Lakers was an injury to Shannon Brown. He tore his achilles and may miss the rest of the season. Coach Phil Jackson said it's a big loss in the bench unit.

Anthony Parker traded to Boston

Anthony Parker has been traded to the Boston Celtics. The Celtics traded away Semih Erden and Marquis Daniels for Parker. Danny Ainge said Parker will be a solid backup behind Ray and that he'll give Ray a chance to rest more.
In other Trade News

Rashard Lewis has been traded to the Jazz. The Deal involved Rashard Lewis and a 2011 second round pick for Andrei Kirilenko. The Wizards are happy with Kirilenko and Lewis should fit in well in Utah.
The Raptors also traded Jose Calderon to the Suns in return for Channing Frye and Mickael Pietrus. Jose wasn't getting much time with Steve Nash playing in Toronto.

Rondo and Pierce lead Celtics to OT win against the Mavs 116-111

Image

Ray Allen makes history making his 2561st three point field goal to pass Reggie Miller's record. Ray wasn't done though hitting 5 treys on the night finishing with 19 points.

Paul Pierce has had an average season so far averaging just 16 points per game. He's keen to get back to his 19 points per game plus scoring abilities. On Friday night against the Mavericks he began that scoring 26 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. The game started off very start but Rajon Rondo slowed down Boston's offense which slowed the game tempo down.Rondo had a quite first half he had 24 points in the second half. Finishing with 26 points and 11 assists. KG had 16 points, 9 boards and 4 blocks. Glen Davis played great off the bench with 15 points and 5 rebounds. He got the Mavs in foul trouble shooting 9 free throws and hitting seven. Jason Terry was the Mavs best with 26 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Caron Butler had another good game against Boston with 25 points. Dirk had 22 points and 13 rebounds. Brendon Haywood scored 11 points off second chance buckets and he also grabbed 19 boards 6 offensive. The game was neck and neck the whole second half. A clutch turnaround jumper by Dirk Nowitzki with 7 seconds left put the Mavs up two. The final shot was designed for Paul Pierce but he was well covered. He dished out to Rondo who hit a drifter on the buzzer to send the game to OT. The Celtics prevailed in overtime. The Celtics will take on Orlando on Sunday afternoon at the TD Garden.

The Truth leads Celtics to win over Lakers 107-98

Image

Paul Pierce hasn't been scoring 18ppg this season like he normally does. He said before playing the Lakers on Thursday that he needs to be more aggressive and look for his shot more. He was, he finished the night with a great all around performance of 31 points 12-23 from the field (7-7 FT's), 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and a block. The match was very even down low the Lakers winning the battle 52-50 but it was the Celtics 26 free throw attempts to the Lakers 17 that was one of the key factors in the win. The Celtics once again didn't give up anything easy down low with 11 blocked shots. Both O'Neals finished with 3 blocks.
Image

Jermaine O'Neal with one of his three blocks [/font]

The Celtics started off the game with crisp offense but their defense wasn't getting enough stops but they finished the quarter with a 32-27 lead. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen were great from the start. Ray finished with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Kevin Garnett only had 14 points on the night but he did everything collecting 6 rebounds, throwing 5 dimes, stealing the ball twice and blocking one shot. Shaquille O'Neal arguably had one of his best performances as a Celtic with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. The Lakers lost the game in the third quarter with poor offensive execution and because of some smothering Celtic defense. Kobe Bryant had 28 points but finished with more shots than points he was 11-30 from the field. Pau Gasol only played 27 minutes due to foul trouble caused by the Celtics constantly driving the ball. Andrew Bynum showed that he has improved finishing with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Lamar Odom had no points and played just 18 minutes. Laker fans are continuing to wonder why he is playing just 20 minutes per game. The Celtics take on Miami at the TD Garden on Sunday afternoon.

Heat storm past Celtics in fourth 102-96 behind LeBron's 29 points.

Image

The Celtics and Heat played one of the closest games you'll see in a long time. After one quarter Miami led by one. At the half Miami still led by one. At the third Miami still led by one. And at the final buzzer Miami led by six. Boston simply didn't have an answer for LeBron James and Dwyane Wade on the night. James had 29 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Wade had 21 points and 6 assists. Pretty much every statistic was even or close to. Every time the Celtics looked like they were going to pull ahead Miami would make a big play. The Celtics were lead by Kevin Garnett 22 points, 11 rebounds and Paul Pierce 20 points and 3 rebounds. Ray Allen was cold but still finished with 18 points. Coach Doc Rivers said his team simply were out of legs and couldn't get defensive stops. The Celtics will take on the Nets in two days in their last game before the All-Star Break.
