The "who's better?" thread

Postby rise on Fri Jul 15, 2011 1:01 pm

I'm sure most of everyone bored with the lockout and everything. So I'd like to initiate a little discussion thread kind of like the "what if" thread from a few months ago. Except this time, we actually answer each others questions. (and give reasons, etc)

I'm sure this will probably turn into another Kobe Vs. Lebron thread, but until it does, here are a few:

Who's better?
-Lamarcus Aldridge Vs Kevin Love
-Brandon Jennings Vs Stephen Curry Vs Tyreke Evans vs whoever else you want to put here
-Chris Paul Vs Derrick Rose Vs Deron Williams Vs Rajon Rondo vs Russell Westbrook
Or we could always go the Brian Scalabrine Vs Brian Cardinal route.

There you go. Have fun

@axel., Shane battier, because Bruce Bowen is retired. :D

Also Bowen was a dirty-playing bitch.

Which brings me to another one: Bynum Vs Noah.

I'm assuming we're talking about each player in their prime right? Or are we talking right now currently? :?

As for Bynum vs. Noah, that's easy, Noah. He can defend his teammates from hecklers by calling them faggots, AND he won't elbow you in the ribs!

I was talking about currently, but we could always look back at others' careers, say, current Dwyane Wade Vs. Prime T-Mac?

This thread can go any way you want as long as it doesn't become fixated on Kobe and Lebron.

Love because he can easily pad his stats.
Kobe Bryant.
Chris Paul because he is.
Scalabrine. Cardinal is a bum only the Mavs wanted. The Bulls and Celtics were fighting for the services of Scal. That's value for you.
Shane Battier. Same D with Bowen but Shane's a better offensive player.
Bynum if you ignore his brittleness. He can get it done on both sides of the floor. Noah needs a teammate to miss a shot to be able to score.

1. LaMarcus Aldridge
2. Michael Jordan, if you don't accept retired ones than it's Kobe Bryant.
3. Chris Paul

4. Brian Scalabrine. Funny guy.

5. Joakim Noah. Healthier than Andrew Bynum. Also Joakim has a NCAA championship.

It might be better if we try creating separate threads for different match-ups so that we can discuss them in depth. Otherwise, the temptation is to post lists of short answers.

I'd say 2002-2003 season for T-Mac is better than any season D-Wade ever had. But then D-Wade has done more in his prime than T-Mac did during his prime. Neck to neck I think but Wade has it in my book. No cock sucking.

Injuries played a factor in that. I seriously think T-Mac could have had as good of a career as Kobe (minus rings partially won by Shaq and Gasol). He could've really gotten there. :(

I think it should be like this - first person posts two players, Rose vs Rondo for example, the next says who's better and why and then posts his own two... This current sort of setup is quite unorganized.

Any player comparison thread is always unorganized. Even in benji's 'best of the three point era' threads there are some people that don't know the guidelines.

Try a weekly vs type thing. Every week debate 1 player vs the other.

z02 needs to change the topic of the thread each week then.

Can I suggest... our season MVP versus the finals MVP?

Dirk vs Rose

if that's the case, then can a mod change the author of the first post to someone else, because after the next few weeks I'm likely not going to be a regular poster anymore. :(
