Timberwolves - Kings Notebook
• Posted: November 14, 2011 8:01 PM EDT

THE FACTS: The Sacramento Kings turned out to have a perfect start to the game with 8/8 from the field. The Kings managed to hold a double digit lead against the Minnesota Timberwolves to end the opening quarter. Cousins had 10 Points in the first quarter and was a big factor on the defensive end of the floor. In the Second Quarter, the Wolves turned the game upside down and dramatically outscore the Kings but the Kings would still manage to hold a small lead over the Wolves by Halftime. The Wolves bench was able to step up in the second quarter and they were actually the reason why the Wolve was able to catch up in the game. Also a solid quarter it was for Wesley Johnson who lead the team in scoring by halftime.

The Kings and the Timberwolves took it hard during the game as both teams was able to score emphatically and consistently, Kings Guard Tyreke Evans took charge of the game as he scored 19 Points in the 3rd Quarter alone and even with the double team, Evans still finds a way to score. While on the other hand, the combination of Ricky Rubio and Wesley Johnson was able to match Evans's offensive showcase. Johnson and Rubio made a run in the 4th Quarter that would force the game into Overtime, one of the great moments in the game was when Johnson stripped the ball from Evans then Johnson passed the ball to Rubio and Rubio made a fantastic alley-oop back to Johnson and Johnson finished with one hand and the game was forced into overtime.

The Timberwolves wasn't able to deliver early in the overtime as they were man handled by Malcolm Lee who scored the first 6 Points for the Kings and the Kings was able to open up an 8 Point lead, but eventually late in the extra period, Michael Beasley was able to put up a show of his own, Beasley scored all 8 Points in the final minutes of the overtime and including a game saving block that would secure the Wolves dramatic win over the Sacramento Kings.

THE STAT: Ricky Rubio not only recorded a career high on Assists, but Rubio also broke the record for most assists by a Timberwolve. Chauncey Billups originally set the record for the Timberwolves as he had 17 Assists back in March 2002. Tyreke Evans also had a career high of his own with 44 Points, Evans's previously career high in points was 37 Points.

HOT: No question, Tyreke Evans only averages 14 Points a game so far this season but his performance tonight was way beyond outstanding. Tyreke had a career high of 44 Points in the losing effort against the Timberwolves. Well, the Timberwolves got all what they needed from Wesley Johnson, Johnson was firing on both ends of the floor and he has been an explosive weapon against the Kings as he almost posterized the whole Sacramento's starting lineup but the main guy in this game was Michael Beasley, although he scored 24 Points he was the main guy because even though he was just sitting in the bench for most of the first half due to foul trouble Beasley managed to go red hot in the 2nd Half and helped the Timberwolves in a number of ways.

NOT: Beasley was in foul trouble but still managed to carry the Timberwolves to earn the huge W, but Enes Kanter wasn't like Beasley, although Kanter had 14 Points he wasn't as effective as he usually is. On the other hand, Caron Butler wasn't much of a force in this game as he went for a bad shooting night with 5/15 FG. Butler missed a game winning shot in the 4th Quarter and had a crucial turnover that gave the Timberwolves the lead.

QUOTABLE: "It really doesn't matter if you record a Career high or what, that career high really means nothing if you lost the game. It better to score less but get the win." - Kings Guard, Tyreke Evans

QUOTABLE II: "I really like the effort of my boys who didn't give up on a single play, our hard work had really pay off so far this season and were looking forward to continue our run until the season's end." - Timberwolves' Head Coach, George Karl

Rubio Interview & The Kanter Issue!

Postby Larvae on Sun Jul 10, 2011 4:03 pm

Chapter I
What's the matter Kanter?

Right after the Minnesota Timberwolves won in OT against the Sacramento Kings, NBA TV's David Aldridge was able to catch up with the Minnesota Timberwolves' Rookies Enes Kanter and Ricky Rubio...
"What's up guys? Welcome to NBA TV."
"We're both fine sir!"
"Well, to start things off, lets kick it with Ricky first shall we? So Ricky, you made your NBA debut with a bang, recording 18 Points and 17 Assists against the NBA's 5 Time Assist leader, Steve Nash. Well both of you were on a roll and pretty much going for a showdown for alley-oops."
"Well at first i was really nervous, like i said back in 2009 on Draft Night, i would like to compare myself Steve Nash and to make my debut in Phoenix against Steve Nash was really a thing i looked forward too and i was really, really nervous."
"But you were terrific in your debut! Moving on, just a while ago, you recorded a franchise record of 23 assists and did you knew that the record was previously held by Chauncey Billups?"
"Honestly no, i had no idea that i broke the record."
"And you were a huge part of the run that Michael Beasley performed during the last minutes of the Overtime and the fourth quarter."
"Well, Coach Karl told me to do my thing, so what i thought was move the ball and confuse the defense but quite frankly Beasley was in good position so i kept feeding him the ball almost every possession."
"In your previous games, we've seen that you had been struggling to reduce your turnovers and you almost averaged 5 turnovers a game, but tonight you managed to lessen you turnovers and you were able to convert them to assists. What was your motivation?"
"Coach Karl told me a dozen of times to make the right pass at the right time, and probably Coach Karl was a big part of my motivation towards reducing my turnovers."
"Its been one hell of a ride to kick off your first season here in the NBA and were looking forward for more of your fantastic alley-oop plays and no look passes Ricky. Thank you for your time."
"Your welcome sir!"

Well, the program was actually meant for the Ricky Rubio and Enes Kanter, but Enes Kanter did not appear in the program and was missing for the whole night.

"Coach George! Have you seen Enes Kanter?"
"I'm sorry but i thought he was with you in your program?"
"I know, but after i interviewed Ricky, Kanter didn't show up."
"Oh my goodness! Where could that young man be?"
"Quick we need to report to the Security!"
"Good idea!"

While Aldridge and Karl was looking for the Security, suddenly one of the Security met Aldridge and Karl running...

"Sir! Sir!"
"Oh there's the security.."
"Sir! I've seen Kanter running towards the outside of the arena!"
"What? Did you try to stop him?"
"I tried but i wasn't able to catch up with Kanter sir, I'm very sorry!"
"Its fine, its fine. Why was he running anyway?"
"I screamed and asked him why is he running and he simply answered, "Its none of your business!""
"What could be Kanter's problem?"
"That's what we have to find out."

Luckily for Coach Karl and David Aldridge they were able to meet a security along the way. Minutes later though, Coach Karl quickly called the Police to search for Enes Kanter.

Nets - Timberwolves Notebook
• Posted: November 17, 2011 11:31 PM EDT

THE FACTS: The New Jersey Nets and the Minnesota Timberwolves are pretty much both young and very talented young team. Anyway, the game kicked off at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The game was kept close by both teams as the Nets and the Timberwolves has their own scoring machine to lead their team to victory. The Nets no.1 overall pick in this year's draft Alec Burks and Minnesota's Michael Beasley wasn't shy at all. Both would have their own share of highlights in the first quarter and both would have 13 points to end the first quarter and so did both teams ended the first quarter with 34 points a piece. Despite Beasley leading the way for the Timberwolves, the Wolves rapidly lost their composure early in the second quarter and a scoring duo of Alec Burks and Travis Outlaw would put the Nets on top by double digits by half time.

The Timberwolves would trail by double digits heading into the 2nd Half, but Michael Beasley would go for a scoring rampage as he would go for an amazing 10-0 run all by himself to kick off the third quarter although Travis Outlaw would manage to keep the Nets on top of the Timberwolves, Beasley almost outscored the Nets in the third quarter alone. The fourth quarter momentum belongs to the Minnesota Timberwolves as Beasley would go on and continue his fantastic scoring but Beasley's rampage wouldn't last long in the fourth as the Nets were able to handle Beasley's shots and with the performance of Brook Lopez in the fourth, the Nets would finally regain the momentum of the game but after a little while Beasley was able to pass more rather than scoring more as he gave Anthony Tolliver a lot of scoring opportunities and no surprise, Tolliver was able to convert them into 2 points every time. In the last minutes of the game, the Timberwolves finally got some love from Kevin Love as his second chance points were a huge part of the Timberwolves' final run against the Nets. The Nets would have a chance to tie the game with 8 seconds left, but Deron Williams missed a potential game tying three that would have sent the game to overtime but instead Tolliver was able to rebound the ball and quickly passed the ball to Wesley Johnson and the Nets fouled Johnson and Johnson would put the icing on the cake as he converted both free throws with a second remaining in the game.

THE STAT: Michael Beasley has scored 20 or more points in the Timberwolves' past 3 games and plus one to include this game.

HOT: It's obvious! Tonight's hot guy was the Timberwolves' Michael Beasley. Beasley led the Timberwolves to a huge comeback against the Nets though despite struggling from the free throw line, Beasley has converted them back to two points with his offensive rebounding. Beasley's passing was also a key in tonight's game as he delivered 3 crucial assists to Anthony Tolliver who also is a part of the "HOT" group of tonight's game. Tolliver scored a season high of 15 Points and 4 blocks, with Enes Kanter still missing Tolliver has showed that he could be reliable on crucial possessions on offense and defense.

NOT: He's usually automatic from the field when he's left wide open, but not on this game. Rudy Fernandez was clearly struggling on the floor as he shot only 1/8 from three point land and shooting only 20% from the field.

QUOTABLE: "You could really see Michael's passion for the game and how greedy he is to win. So far, i see Michael in my top list for Most Valuable Player this season if not for the league, but in our team." - Wolves Head Coach, George Karl

Burks has really been the focus of the Nets' offense, well he could have been more of a beast if he wasn't in foul trouble :cheeky:

Bucks - Timberwolves Notebook
• Posted: November 19, 2011 12:00 NN EDT

THE FACTS: A strong start for the Milwaukee Bucks as they opened up the game with a 9 to 0 run against the home team that is the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Bucks got their fast start behind Captain Stephen Jackson who was recently acquired by the Bucks in the off-season via trade with the Charlotte Bobcats, Jackson scored all 9 points for the Milwaukee Bucks. But Michael Beasley wouldn't let his team down, Beasley would go rampage mode again as he would score 12 consecutive points all by himself and the Wolves were suddenly back on track of the game a they lead the Bucks 12-9 after 3 minutes of play. Both teams would go back to back at scoring and was a really competitive fight, although the Timberwolves would stay on top behind solid plays from Beasley who managed to score 15 points in the opening quarter. The second quarter turned out to be Beasley's quarter, Beasley would amazingly own the whole Bucks team as he was a one man drilling machine as he would play Point-Forward at both ends as he would bring down the ball and explode to the basket Beasley scored 20 Points in the second quarter.

A blowout was going on at the Target Center, but after struggling for most of his three point attempts, Brandon Jennings would pick up his slack at the first half and would drain as much as three's as he could, Jennings's performance brought back the Bucks close to the Timberwolves. Jennings and the Bucks would like to continue their solid play but Michael Beasley was too much of a beast! Beasley would go on for his scoring tear and his all around game got his teammates involved on offense.

THE STAT: Michael Beasley would continue his prolific scoring streak to 5 after recording a career high of 57 Points. This performance also marks another new franchise record for most points scored by a Timberwolve. Thsi record was previously held by one of the Timberwolve greats, Kevin Garnett who is currently playing for the Boston Celtics.

HOT: He's always in this category, Michael Beasley was the main attraction to this game as he would almost record a triple-double as he just came short to 1 assist and 2 rebound to complete his triple-double, unfortunately the triple-double didn't happen, but even so Beasley got his teammates involved in the offense as maybe his favorite teammate to pass the ball to was Anthony Tolliver who scored 16 Points and recorded 4 blocks to the stats sheets and was a huge part of the Wolves' second quarter run. Cap Jack, Stephen Jackson and Brandon Jennings is also part of tonight's hot list as they would combine for 61 points together in the losing effort. Jennings also recorded 7 three pointers during tonight's game.

NOT: Ricky Rubio, its not pleasant as it looks like but yeah, Rubio is the one and only guy who would be listed down to our not hot list, Rubio was kept out of the game for majority of the night due to his early foul trouble as he had 3 early fouls and a couple a fouls kept him out of the game. Although Rubio wasn't such a huge loss to the Timberwolves, this performance wan't the performance the Wolves' needed from Rubio.

QUOTABLE: "Guys would just keep feeding me the ball and i just thought that this might be my lucky night so i went hard to the basket every time and i thankful that it was my lucky night. I'll just keep on working hard so that next time i make this type of performance, i will not say that its just lucky." - Wolves' Forward, Michael Beasley
