Suns was one of the most massive teams in the 2003 year. They had Amare, Joe Johnson, Marbury and Shawn Marion. But they never got to the title, which is why, I am here to change it. Get Ready folks, cuz we are going back to the past ;)

Hawks @ Suns

November 3
Atlanta Hawks(0-1) @ Phoenix Suns(1-0)

Two heros shine in the forth

Image

FIRST LOOK: With Suns getting a sleeper pick, they have more strength in their front-court, as Amar`e Stoudemire will be a beast in the future. With still having a 20-20 threat Stephen Marbury and Shawn Marion, they still had a huge offensive player named Joe Johnson on the bench. Atlanta had a similar season, and with no major changes or draftees, they still looked like their last season. But players like Jason Terry and Shareef Abdur-Raheem, they are no easy picking.

OVERALL GAME: It was pretty intense. Hawks took a quick lead and dominated from there, but Suns well-rounded game got them back. Both teams contested eachother a lot, with neither team taking the game away. However, with Glenn Robinson making most of his shots, it was hard to stop him. Everything changed in the forth, as Phoenix made a huge run, as two men stepped up. Shawn Marion picked up his scoring, posting 11 points in the forth. He got the plugs on Robinson and helped out the team overall. Making his debut, Amar`e Stoudemire was dominating the inside game, taking 5 rebounds in the last and helping out with the scoring as well. He got a double-double (18 points, 12 rebounds). With their help, Suns took the lead for the first time and it was all-over after that.

STAT:Shawn Marion hit the only threes from the Suns point-of-view, making 2-3. Atlanta on the other end made 9-10 free-throws, as Ira Newble missed one of his.

QUOTABLE: "It was great to have my first double-double, in my debut also. We will see how I will do my next game."
-- Suns power-forward Amar`e Stoudemire

QUOTABLE II: "I think this one loss is not the worst. Our next game is against the Sonics so we will hope to win there."
-- Atlantas point-guard Jason Terry

BOXSCORE: Atlanta Hawks @ Phoenix Suns 66-70

Where's Big Jake Tsakalidis??

Nice win. That 2003 Hawks had a nice lineup with Shareef, Jet, Big Dog and Ratliff.

Phoenix Suns(1-0) @ Chicago Bulls(0-0)

Marbury shines in the spotlight

Image

FIRST LOOK: Suns came up with a lucky win over Atlanta Hawks, but Chicago Bulls otherwise start their season with this game and hope for a win, "This game is going to be tough and we hope for a win," said Jalen Rose. Suns have great players like Marbury, Marion and Stoudemire, then they need to stick with defending and hope to score from the fast-breaks. One of the toughest parts is the Suns bench, which is lead by Joe Johnson.

OVERALL: The game started off by very intense attacking from both teams. Suns picked up the lead very quickly, but the Bulls came back to score from the fast-breaks because of the sloppy throwing by the Suns. The Suns had a 30 point lead from players like Marbury, Marion and Stoudemire, the game relied mostly by them. Marbury had 18 points and was 8-11 from the field he also dished out 6 assist, 2 steals and a block. For the Bulls, Jalen Rose was on fire by scoring 25 points. Tyson Chandler had a good game with 12 points and 11 rebounds, getting a double-double. Phoenix Suns had a horrible fourth quarter, as the Bulls got 32 points in that quarter alone. Still, the game finished 98-79.

INJURY: Joe Johnson strained his achilles. The doctor said he will miss 2-4 weeks.

STAT: Chris Jacobsen was on fire, hitting 6-7 from the field. The Bulls were shooting poorly, hitting 33-77 shots from the field.

QUOTABLE: "I`m very impressed of Chris Jacobsens play from the bench, we need more players to step up like him."
-- Phoenix Suns point-guard Stephen Marbury

QUOTABLE II: "We all had a great game but it wasn't enough to get the win."
-- Chicago Bulls center Tyson Chandler

Yeah, this was a cool team too. I think '04 might've been a little more powerful though. What year did Nash come over, '05?

If only Atlanta hadn't overpaid Joe Johnson...

Looks like you're off to a good start. Sucks JJ might be out a month.

Ah. I think that was probably the most potent Suns team. Amare, Marion, and Johnson with some experience under their belts. Nash feeding them, still relatively young.
