1st Half Story: The Phoenix Suns squad looks for a fresh start this January but they would have to go on against the Timberwolves to start their road trip, the Suns picked up the pace early in the First Quarter with their Big man Marcin Gortat blocking 2 shots early and converting it to the offensive end of the court, Steve Nash did the job for the Suns dishing out 6 Assists just in the First Quarter but surprisingly the score did not go far despite the struggles of the Wolves stars, Wolves Rookie Forward Wesley Johnson kept the Wolves up for grabs for the win. As the 2nd Quarter underwent Minnesota didn't get what they would hope they would get from their stars, Double-Double machine Kevin Love hasn't been delivering and has just lost track of his game. Meanwhile for the Suns their Bench went on fire from long range and from the paint, Channing Frye lead the Suns bench squad in scoring.

2nd Half Story: As the 2nd Half went underway, the Suns simply dominated the whole half and opened the 2nd Half with a 20-5 run well ofcourse, lead by the Suns Bench, including a lead that the Suns took that simply made the crowd leave their team in shame, just in the 3rd Quarter that the fans left the building. With all momentum lost, the Timberwolves's performance got even worse, Frye has been firing 3's all night long and had been draining it, with no challenge at all. Jared Dudley also got hot, but most impressive from the Suns bench was Rafer Alston, dishing out another Career High of 16 Assists.

Both the Suns and the Heat are seated at the 3rd seed of their conference but theirs no need to call this game a mismatch, South Beach's Trio against the Suns streaky three point shooting is no mismatch. Can the Suns stop the Heat's fire? or can the Heat add another win to their streak? Lets see.


The Suns opened the quarter with a 5-0 run against the the Miami Heat early on, but you know LeBron ain't gonna back down that easy he got to the line as often as he could in the First Quarter but hasn't delivered much from the stripe he just had 3/7 at the line in the First Quarter, but Miami kept it close behind LeBron's prolific First Quarter performance. LeBron James had 18 Points to open the First Quarter but a fantastic quarter by Jeff Green placed the Suns on top of the Heat by just a little margin. Both teams were streaky on the court as they started the Second Quarter but still LeBron James was on fire in that quarter, well as the Suns bench provided lots of energy behind Mickael Pietrus forcing LeBron to make turnovers in the quarter boosted the Suns momentum into a higher level.

With the Heat still trailing the whole game and LeBron James resting on the bench to start the 2nd Half, Dwayne Wade wasted no time and got to work early, in a epic battle between the Suns bench and D-Wade's strength in getting to the rim, there were alot of momentum switches during the Third Quarter. As the Third Quarter was about to end, the Miami Heat gained the upper hand after forcing alot of turnovers and Wade leading the charge, the Heat ended the Third Quarter on a high note & including their first lead of the game. With the Fourth Quarter starting and all momentum belongs with Miami, Miami pulled away early and gained a 10 Point lead and holding that to 7 minutes. With the last five minutes of the game, the Suns bench really picked up the slack and slowly eating Miami's lead behind their defensive effort on the glass and offensive glass and converting them to buckets. As the Suns look take the lead, Jeff Green carried the Suns all the way and with the pressure at its highest with the Heat leading by 6, Jeff Green put upped a wonderful shooting performance, Jeff Green fired back to back 3 Pointer and got it to go. With the game all tied, the Suns pulled away in no time as Jeff Green continues to deliver for the Suns.

Chapter I

The Suns opened up the season with full off pressure and curiosity from the fans with the departure of All-Star Forward Amar'e Stoudemire to the New York Knicks in free agency, the Suns were left by a bunch of role players and 3 veterans. But the Suns were able to close out games better than anyone else in the league as they started their 2010-11 campaign, battling 2OT against the Chicago Bulls, and even despite losing against the Lakers and Hornets in OT by just a small margin you can see the Suns team as a competitor in the Western Conference. But so far in the past month and recent week, the Suns were able to overcome the odds like the San Antonio Spurs, and South Beach's Superstar Trio. But without the Suns smart management, the Suns were able to strengthen their Roster even more with the addition of Jeff Green who has been struggling with the Celtics, and with big surprise, Rafer Alston came to play for the Suns as he top himself every game. Just recently, the Suns Head Coach Alvin Gentry was invited for a interview with NBA TV's David Aldridge.

"Welcome Sir Gentry to NBA TV"
"Thank you for inviting me here, its a pleasure to be here with you"
"Now, moving on to the show, regarding the Phoenix Suns how were you able to keep the team focused after your loss in the off-season?"
"Well, honestly me myself was really depressed by the loss of our team, losing our All-Star Forward to free agency and losing a General Manager, who i think was really played a key role in our success last season"
"But now, you see your team with a 21-9 Win/Lose record this season despite age is a problem with the Suns this season do you think that the Suns will be able to win a NBA Championship this season?"
"I think every team has what it takes to win a championship but some teams just excel more and thats why they win it very much consistently, for my team i think we have what it takes, well its too early to say that but i believe with the Roster we have now pretty much has what it takes, even without flashy numbers from our stars, we can win it"
"With the schedule up ahead this season full with a bunch of contending teams in their respective conferences, how are you gonna handle that?"
"We don't have to necessarily play our starters more, since we have a great bench depth, i think i would balance their minutes to avoid exhaustion from our players."
"Alvin, its been a wonderful season for you and the Suns, we wish you all the luck for the rest of the season."
"Thanks!"

Right after the interview between NBA TV's David Aldridge and Phoenix Suns Head Coach Alvin Gentry,

"How did it go Alvin?"
"It was great sir, i felt that our team is very much grabbing attention in the league"
"Well, we have a game versus San Antonio coming up, better get the boys ready for action, lets sweep the season series against them this season"

While in practice, Gortat approached Alvin Gentry for something

"Coach, i don't feel well i think im not in condition"
"Why? I thought you told me your were ready to give me your A game this month?"
"I know but i kinda feel different, i mean really different"
"WHAT? Alright, i'm gonna call the medical staffs, stay here"

After 5 minutes of waiting....

"Marcin!, what the problem here?"
"I really don't feel like my self right now, i feel really sluggish"
"Hmmmm, are you experiencing headache lately?"
"Yes, yes i do feel headaches lately"
"I suggest you take the day off."
"Are you sure? Have you informed Coach Gentry?"
"Yes i'm sure, just go ahead and take the day off, i'll inform your coach about this"

"Sir i would have to inform you that Marcin Gortat have taken the day off, due to his condition"
"So you mean Gortat can't play against the Spurs later on?"
"Im sorry to say this but yeah, he can't play against the Spurs, if we would let him play his condition might get even worse."
"Geeeeezzz.... "

As the Suns would be playing against the Spurs without their Rebounding Big Man Marcin "The Polish Hammer" Gortat, due to his severe headache he experienced during team practice before they faced the Spurs, the Spurs look for advantage against the Suns now that the Spurs would have much more power on the low block. Lets See..


The Spurs quickly gained the upper hand in the First Quarter behind a solid play from Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, but then Suns would match the Spurs scoring duo in the form of Steve Nash, Nash scored 8 points for the Suns in the opening quarter including 5 assists that set upped his teammates for easy scoring opportunity that would eventually turn out to be a great offensive ball movement from the Suns made the Spurs look foolish on defense but the Spurs still ended the First Quarter solidly. With the 2nd Quarter underway with the Spurs leading by 1 against the Suns, the Spurs picked up where they left behind in the First Quarter, only their youngsters picked it up for the veterans, DaJuan Blair and George Hill contributed very minimal but those small things they've done helped in a number of ways for the Spurs, for the Suns they looked up to Channing Frye with his defensive effort and contribution on offense, not only Frye drained the three ball but also on the low block, Frye had 2 blocks in the second quarter and a couple of second chance points too. With time running down, Channing Frye drained a long distance two pointer at the buzzer to keep the Suns tied up with the Spurs to end the First Half. Both teams had solid plays in the First Half that kept the crowd wanting for more.

As the 2nd Half gets underway the Spurs kinda lost track of there game, which is why they lost there last game with the Suns and was really a bad start for the Spurs, but the Suns were in a familiar place, with the Spurs collapsing with there play and stars, Grant Hill went red hot for the whole quarter and scored 15 points just in the 3rd Quarter and when the Spurs needed hope, nobody stepped up for the Spurs in the 3rd Quarter. Doris Burke reported "In Popovich's last timeout, he aws clearly fuming, Gregg said to his players "you look like your sleep walking out there!". Like wise, the Suns would turn on to their bench and the bench kinda humiliated the Spurs team even more with the Spurs lack of defensive effort. On the 4th Quarter, Carter was in the free throw stripe very often and converted all of them, and as Vince took charge in the 4th Quarter, the Spurs knew already that they got swept once again.

Former Suns Power Forward Amar'e Stoudemire said on his Twitter page that he is very much looking forward to their game against the Phoenix Suns this Tuesday. With this game, it will mark Amar'e's. Amar'e was interviewed by a couple of news reporter/sportswriters regarding his excitement for his first game against the Phoenix Suns, Amar'e said "Im very excited to the fact that i don't know how would my former teammates react to me after i left for New York, and it will be my first time to play AGAINST the Suns and now i'm playing with a whole new group of guys."

With the news quickly spreading over the world, Former Suns Center, "Big Cactus" Shaquille O'Neal had some words regarding the news, "I've gotta tell this now, its gonna be a great match up, its gonna be great i'm telling you! Forget about their standings you know."

"Its gonna be a different atmosphere in Phoenix, its a whole new squad versus a whole new squad too, i know that our team is pretty much struggling in fact we are not in the playoff picture right now and the Suns are surprisingly on the Top 5 teams in the league right now without Amar'e. Me myself is pretty nervous about this match up this Tuesday." A couple of words from Knicks Head Coach Mike D' Antoni.

Gortat Ready to Play, Would Return Against New York

After sitting down for the Suns last 2 games due to a severe headache, Phoenix Suns Medical cleared Gortat to play on the Suns next game against the New York Knicks this coming Tuesday. "I feel great now, and despite my absence im proud to say that our team did a nice job and the medics cleared me to play this Tuesday against the New York Knicks and im really looking forward to my comeback after missing a short period of time"

Gortat will play a huge role this Tuesday against the Knicks as the Suns would really need the presence of Gortat on offense and his defense.

The Phoenix Suns unexpectedly unveils their new Home and Away jerseys, with this the two jerseys would replace the Suns old White/Violet color scheme for their home with Orange/White/Gray and for their away jerseys, the old Violet/Gray scheme would now be replaced with a new color scheme for the Suns, with Black/Violet/Gray on it. Fans say on blogspots that the Suns black/violet/gray color scheme should be their alternate jersey but Suns GM Lance Blanks said "Let us try something new to this team!" But the Suns would remain to use the Orange/Gray scheme as their alternate jersey for this season.

The Suns would finally wear their newly made black away jersey against the Knicks. "It maybe to late to introduce this new color scheme and design to the people but thats just how everything went." - Phoenix Suns GM, Lance Blanks.

The man who once lead this Suns team to glory. Is now a villain to the sight of the Suns fans. How much can he do for his new squad? Would 3 be enough? Let's read in order to see what really happened.


The start of the game was in favor of the Suns, but both teams were shooting on a high percentage from three points. A huge momentum surge by the Suns second chance points and intimidation style of defense was pretty much good enough for the Phoenix Suns take the early lead in the game. The 2nd Quarter was again taken over by the Suns, but the ever energentic Jeff Green took over the second quarter with his defensive effort and his consistent mid range shooting the Knicks could not do anything to stop Jeff Green. But Landry Fields did his best to carry the slack for the New York Knicks but not much can be done with the situation the Knicks have, despite Fields shooting on a high percentage and taking smart shots his team still wasn't able to get back on track.

The Knicks fans were very much disappointed with their team not doing anything on the court and the 3rd Quarter was showtime for the Phoenix Suns' with all the alley-oops and streaky three point shooting by Jeff Green, Jared Dudley and Channing Frye. After months of finding his spot on the Suns team, Mickael Pietrus finally found his spot on the Suns roster as the team's best defensive player, forcing turnovers has been Pietrus new specialty. Also Pietrus was able to find his range and got his shooting deadly as it has ever been in his career. Right after the 3rd Quarter Knicks' fans started to leave the Madison Square Garden with disappointment.

This win marks the Suns' 7th Straight Win.

What's your rebounding ranking among the teams? From the box scores I've seen, it looks like that's still not Phoenix's strong suit. Although starting Gortat probably helps.
