hey! i've made indiana jerseys for personal use.. but i thought these jerseys could be useful for your 95/96 patch Andrew.

I have a question: Will the players have the same size of shorts as in that season? Cause the short shorts that is in the game is too short and the regular shorts are too big.

A little question: the patch will overwrite current rosters, courts, jerseys of the NBA teams?

Only the courts. The patch will be in a different save slot, and has a modified teamgear.dbf so that it will use the retro jerseys as long as the 95/96 patch is loaded. Once you re-load the default rosters or the current roster update, all of the jerseys and players will be restored.

To restore the courts, you could simply delete the xcourt CustomArt folder. I'll include more details in the readme once the patch is done.

Right now they're using the default long shorts. The short shorts are a little too short for the 90s (except for John Stockton, of course ).

I do have one additional request for a jersey if you've got a spare minute - the Los Angeles Lakers. There was a design that came between the 80s and their current jersey that is similar but with slightly different colours and lettering (I believe the shorts design is a little different too). I can send you the art from NBA Live 99 if need be.

Thanks again to everyone for all the contributions so far. Adding the art as I create the teams, I can tell the finished product is going to look simply outstanding. Hopefully the roster itself won't disappoint.

I've just checked, and the art files from NBA Live 99 aren't high quality enough to patch from. However, I've compared some photographs to the retro jerseys in Live 2004, and the design is the same. However, the colours are slightly different. The jerseys from the 80s aren't quite as deep a purple as the jerseys the Lakers wore in the mid 90s. Would it be possible to edit the colours of the classic 80s jerseys (llcl04 and llcl05) already in the game?

hey Andrew, how big do you think the patch will be with all this customart ? or maybe the roster will be available separately from the artwork ?

It will be fairly big, but I'll use 7-zip when I compile the installation so that it's a little smaller. It will be a little larger than a regular roster update, but I think it will be worth it.

holy crap, you guys are amazing. love the work, can't wait to play it when it's finished . all this, and i recently found the nba on nbc theme song reminds me of those good 'ole days...when there was actually good broadcasting of professional basketball lol.

March eh Andrew, its May. Im just waiting for this real badly, btw there is this guy who has a historic patch, im not sure who it is, he has a few teams and the "all" nba teams for all the teams. Is yours gonna be much different and better?

I'm aware of that. I hoped to release it in March, but it has taken longer than anticipated, with work and other committments getting in the way. Also, I did not guarantee a March release, it was an early date that I've since pushed back a couple of times.

The Historic Roster patch is a much larger update. This is just a mod for the 95/96 season, so it won't contain any other season rosters or All-Time teams. It's possible I might add a couple of special teams (the East and West Rookie teams from 1996 for example) after the initial release.
