*Sorry for the horrible pictures, had to take my own. Trail Blazers win at home, tie season series
First QuarterAs the last time these teams met, Cleveland had a pretty easy victory, as they won 109-86. This time however, as the Blazers are undefeated at home, things would tense up. It started off as a really close game, but when the game got near the four minute mark, Portland went on a 15-6 run to control the game. When T-Will hit a buzzer-beater, it ended as 25-19.
Clevelands top scorer : B.Griffin 8 PTS 4 REB 2 BLK
Trail Blazers top scorer : L.Aldridge 8 PTS 3 REB 1 STL
Second Quarter
Things started off just as things left in the first. Both teams were scoring visa-versa and it was a six point ball game. However, it took Ricky Rubio, Nicolas Batum and Brandon Roy, to turn the game completely around, as they got the lead to 20 points. It seemed that Cleveland was dominated on the boards and had no chance to fight back. Blake or nobody else could step up also. Newly signed Ivan Johnson got his first minutes of play, but he did not do anything.
Clevelands top scorer : T.Williams 9 PTS 1 REB 1 AST
Trail Blazers top scorer : B.Roy 17 PTS 2 REB 4 AST 1 STL 1 BLk
Third QuarterIt started off just like the other two. It took some time but Roy and Aldridge got the game going. Cleveland got the game to 10 some point, as they went on a 12-4 run, but it was no use, as Portlands big-men dominated everybody and got the game back up 20. Later, with two minutes left, again Cleveland started to show some hope, but with the all dominating game of Aldridge and Oden, it was no use, as it ended 79-61.
Clevelands top scorer : B.Griffin 14 PTS 8 REB 2 AST 1 STL 2 BLK
Trail Blazers top scorer : B.Roy 21 PTS 2 REB 5 AST 1 STL 1 BLK
Forth QuarterAs it seemed that they would somehow get back, it was no chance. From the first minutes to the last, it was all Portland game. All though, Griffin had some solid rebounding in that quarter and DeRozan put up some points too. But considering the game of Roy and the big men of the Trail Blazers, nobody could stop them from dominating in the paint and blocking every shot near the rim. Fun fact- the score was pretty similar to the one in Cleveland, only visa-versa.
Press conference : "Roy, your huge game has carried this team to places, yet the playoff spot is not certain. What do you think that needs to be done about your playoff chances?"
"First off, I want to thank you about commenting on my game. We are on fire at home and with LaMarcus back, I think we can get the fifth or sixth seed.
"Blake, your team was dominated but at home you dominated them. What happened?"
"Well, as you know, I did not play the home game. But considering that Portland is undefeated at home, it is no wonder that we lost. The fans are extatic and really love their team."
Conclusion : As Portland needs every win they can get to get a proper seed in the West, this huge home game streak helps them a lot. About Cleveland, this loss does not hurt them badly, as they will get a better look at their opponents, Pacers and Heat, as they meet each other tomorrow.
