that t.v. stand is awesome, it would be better if you could get the video in there though or unlikely because youtube has limits of what it can do :(

Mavericks go with “Tough Juice” to bury Spurs and avoid elimination; now trail 3-1
Preview | Recap | Game Info | Full Play-by-Play | Boxscores (SAS :: DAL)

SAN ANTONIO, May 10 -- The Dallas Mavericks appeared to take out three games full of frustrations in just five minutes. Caron Butler collected 28 points and five rebounds and Jason Kidd added 17 points as the Dallas Mavericks went on a big spurt in the fourth quarter to pull away from the San Antonio Spurs and avoid being swept in their Western Conference Semifinals series, with a 94-86 decision. Dallas was leading 68-66 entering the last frame; San Antonio had a 6-0 run to start the fourth, but the Mavericks countered with an outstanding 17-2 run over the next five minutes for a 85-74 lead and never look back again. The Mavericks again missed injured guard Jason Terry -- but they barely got any production from their backcourt apart from Kidd. DeShawn Stevenson was scoreless on 0-of-4 shooting, and rookie Dominique Jones made just 2-of-7 attempts for 5 points as a reserve. “What went right? We made shots and they didn't,” said Kidd. “The big thing, though, is that we came out from the beginning and competed the full 48 minutes.”

“I am disappointed,” said Spurs center Tiago Splitter. “We were right there after the third quarter. When we came out in the fourth, I thought we had some good looks. The shots that we have been making before, we didn't make them tonight.” San Antonio shot just 3-of-17 from deep, while Dallas connected on 7-of-14 attempts from beyond the arc. The Spurs also had 6 turnovers, against Dallas' 15, but the Mavs found their way with their defensive play down the stretch. “I don't know what to tell you,” added Spurs coach Gregg Popovich added. “I didn't like our performance, despite that we played great defense to force all those turnovers. We were outplayed tonight.” Tony Parker led San Antonio with 18 points and seven assists, and Corey Maggette scored 13. Splitter had his worst performance of this postseason, shooting 3-of-11 for 11 points, while Manu Ginobili was held by Stevenson to only eight points. Even so, San Antonio defeated the Mavericks in the painted area, 56-46. “When our jumper wasn't falling, we went to the inside,” said Maggette. “But still, we didn't have a big low-post presence and we struggled to score.” Off the bench, rookie James Anderson had nine points and Drew Gooden had seven and a team-high 12 rebounds.

Butler scored 21 of his 28 points in the first half, while Kidd also chipped in six boards and six assists; Dirk Nowitzki had 15 points and nine rebounds for Dallas. “I think the players were challenged,” said Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle. “The series is not over until someone wins four games. I can't think the Spurs took the game lightly.” Shawn Marion collected nine points to pace Dallas, all in the second half. The Spurs shot a series-worst 37 percent from the field (35-of-94), but the Mavericks were not much sharper, connecting at 43 percent (35-of-80). “We knew we needed this win and we just played hard,” said Marion. “Knowing we didn't want to get swept, we just came out in the second half with a lot of fire. We all have to believe and stick together as a team for a second win.” Game 6 is back in San Antonio and the Spurs can end the series 4-1 with a victory. “Of course, we are happy to be up 3-1,” said Ginobili. “But if you look at it, they had a great shot to win Game 3, so we can't be too satisfied. We really wanted to win this game to close this book.”

Tough loss, but good to see some life from the Mavs. Still, I think with the series coming back to San Antonio, you will progress to the Conference Finals.

Cousin, Gist, Toros win D-League Championship in style, blowout Energy in deciding Game 3
Preview | Recap | Game Info | Full Play-by-Play | Boxscores (IOW :: AUS)
• Forgot to take pics of the boxscores, so dumb; I went through all player cards to get the stats •

SAN ANTONIO, May 11 -- With the entire San Antonio Spurs team sitting courtside, the Austin Toros reached glory for the first time in franchise history. Dominant in every aspect, and lifted by chants of their fans, the Toros bounced back from a Game 1 loss at this same arena, with a stunning 101-74 blowout over the Iowa Energy. “It means so much more to us because these are the guys. Duncan, Parker and Manu,” said Marcus Cousin. “On a small way, this humble Toros squad is a part of it.” Cousin and James Gist, nicknamed “The Odd Couple” by their teammates and the media, combined for 26 points and 17 rebounds, 14 and 10 for the bigman. Both look poised to join the Spurs roster for next season. Center Dan Hicks had 13 points and nine rebounds for the Toros, who built a 30-point halftime lead and obliterated the Energy from start to finish.

Kyle James scored 11 points and five assists, while Jeremy Ryan and Barry Myers added eight and seven points, respectively, for Austin. Just as they had while winning a D-League record 43 games during the regular season, the team got plenty of help from their bench as, apart from Gist, Charles Tate, Joe Beck, Eddie Banks and Hugh Powell all came in and contributed. Tate, Hicks' backup, had only three points but a career-high 16 rebounds. Beck had nine points and seven rebounds, Banks posted five and five and Powell notched in seven points. It was a group effort, as the Toros's reserves defeated Iowa's, 48-28 and the entire squad made 34-of-41 free throws and won the rebound battle 64-54.

Adrian Hill was one of only two players in double figures for the Energy, with 21 points and 10 rebounds; Paul Sherman scored 14. Chicago Bulls assignment, Omer Asik, was held to two points. “They were definitely the best team, the entire year,” said Hill. The Toros, playing their trademark defense, gave Nick Nurse's team no chance. Iowa started the game with a 5-of-30 performance from the field (a dismal 16 percent) and could never recover. They had a small 8-0 run in the fourth quarter, but with no use whatsoever. In the final minute, Cousin and Gist doused Toros coach Brad Jones with Gatorade, a big tradition in sports, and Gist found the Spurs' Big 3 for a long embrace. San Antonio holds a 3-1 lead over the Dallas Mavericks in their West Semifinals series; is this Toros championship a sign of what is going to come for the Spurs? Hopefully.

That's the idea guys, finish the series in five games. Now, as Grandmama said, if the Mavs win another one, that could kickstart an historic comeback. Still waiting on TD to return...

D-League Finals, Toros, of course :cool: This team has surpassed all expectations. 43-7 in the regular season and now, well-deserved champions.

Will try to post Spurs-Mavs G5 tomorrow.

Nice job winning the D-League championship; I'll see if I can help the Vipers repeat (they won last year IRL) in my association. I like Marcus Cousin, I watched him play a pre-season game against the Rockets back in October and I like his play on the boards. (Y) He'll be an excellent addition to your roster next year.

BTW, what about the NCAA bracket predictions we did a while back? What was the prize for getting a near-perfect bracket? :cheeky:
