Winning Mentality

Postby bowdown on Wed May 11, 2011 2:27 am

How many of you consider yourselves winners? Im not talking whether you win every single time because that is not realistic. But Im talking whenever you do something, you have nothing in mind except to win.

I would like to have this mentality, especially with all the other traits that I have. I am just a very passive personality due to multitude of reasons growing up I suppose. But sometimes I feel this surge of wanting to win...its easy to notice especially playing basketball and I feel very strong and resilient those time. I would just like to have this mentality constantly. Because if I could mix the winning mentality along with my very good negotiation and verbal skills with people I think I could do good things in life.

Have anyone of you trained yourselves to have a winning mentality over time? Or do you just have something to say about this?

Charlie Sheen has a winning mentality. In fact, it's a bi-winning mentality he has.

In all seriousness, I've never really thought about this. I have a pretty good work ethic; when I do something, whether it's every day chores, working out, perfecting my jumpshot in basketball, or just playing video games (lol), I stop at nothing until I get it (whatever I'm trying to accomplish) done. I don't see life as trying to 'win' at it, I see it as more as getting the job done.

Charlie Sheen is an exception because he may be a sociopath . Ofcourse lets not go to extremes because extremes are never good either way. Its tough especially at my age figuring out doing what will lend me best results for the future. One thing I know for sure about myself and that is I am a passive person most of the times. I guess this type of a personality could get me by if I was still living in India but over here in USA I need to become more aggressive if I need to establish myself in my career and socially because people have a different mentality overall

I don't know whether I'd call it a winning attitude/mentality as such but I believe in being positive, making the best of any given situation and persistence. I don't think moping and negativity will get you anywhere or allow you to be anything but bad company and someone content to complain but never do anything constructive.
