An idea for a franchise

Postby R-Tistic on Wed Apr 21, 2004 8:41 am

Just for somethin different, IF I get enough time this summer, I might come up with a franchise and some more that is gonna be somethin I haven't seen on here before. I don't know how I am gonna do it exactly, but I want to turn NBA Live 2004 into Live 97 or 98. This is what I am lookin at doin:
-Makin the rosters the same as either Live 97 or 98, which would have Kobe as a 1st/2nd year, Jordan with the Bulls, Etc. etc.
-After each season, I will get the players who came out that year in real life to be put into a draft. This would shake up the rosters a whole lot. So each year when new people came, such as Carter, McGrady, B Davis, Francis, etc. etc., they would end up on completely different teams. Since I hear that it might be possible to only draft players that you choose, instead of havin generated players, this would make it possible to have the draft classes imported into each season.
-This is not really supposed to be that realistic, but it is just somethin that I am interested in doin, just to be somethin different.

So if I plan to do this, first of all, will anybody be interested in downloadin this or usin it? Is there anybody who would even be interested in helpin me with it?

I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in such a patch, though you would have to develop a utility that automatically added the rookies to the DBF file at the conclusion of each season.

well, R-Tistic, your project would be kinda redundant with Andrew's 95-96 season roster

It is very interesting that you mention that...before I had this "idea" I was looking to download the 95-96 roster on this site, because I was almost sure that I had seen it before. But I realized it wasn't on there, and then I have been very involved in creating rookies that are to come out in the next few years...and I said it would be a good idea to make a dynasty starting in 96 or 97 (I wanted Kobe and Shaq on the Lakers!) and then have the rookies come in each year. But I mentioned this to Lil_repole, and he told me that Andrew was doing this with a 95-96 roster so I might just have to scrap the idea and work with what he has.

I won't be adding the 1996 draft class to the 95/96 roster straight away - as I said, the way the game works a utility will need to be developed to import the rookies after the first season. But I'll probably look at the feasibility of such an add-on after the patch is released. (Y)
