Does this mean the 94 Rookies you gave to Nique 3011 for some tweaking of their ratings won't push thru?

R-Tistic wrote:I don't know exactly how to put them into the draft, but I know there is a thread in the 2003 Franchise section on how to do that. Otherwise, you could copy one of these and paste it into any folder in saves that is just a rosters file. Don't paste it over a file that you want to keep though. If you already have a season going, there is a way to put these rookies into your season without puttin them in the draft, but it takes a lot of time, and last time I made many fatal mistakes and killed my dynasty which frustrated me enough to stop playin it on computer.

Always back-up your files before doing anything with it.

Well I donno what he did with them, I haven't talked to him. But I might get back into it once I figure out how to put the rookies in the draft, but only havin those rookies instead of the generated ones, if that's possible.

Mon Apr 12, 2004 10:24 am

I dont think its possible to put them in without the genereated ones, i rekon instead of putting in the real ones at the draft, just let the team draft the gnereated ones then, put the real ones in with a DBF editior, so for example, the team that got first pick, you would delete their genereated rookie then in his place give them Nelson or Okafor, which ever you thouht would go first.

Just an idea, but its gonna be silly wiht all these genereated rookies as well.

OK but im pretty sure that the generated rookies r not in the players.dbf, r they in a different file? and then y not just put them in as free agents

Hey rtistic can you send me these rosters? My email is xnike2livx@comcast.net. Thanks!

That's what I did the last dynasty..it was takin foooooreeever, and it messed up a lot of times because I'd get IDs messed up and all else possible that could go wrong.

Yeah, its a pain, it wouldn't have been hard for EA to make it so we can replace the genreated rookies before the draft

the only game that I know of that let's you edit upcoming rookies is ESPN Football. It was nice to edit the upcoming rookies and change there attributes and look as well. Hopefully 2005 will incorporate this idea.

btw Felton isn't entering the draft...he's returning, along with Mays and McCants (can't remember if you put them on or not). Here's some constructive criticism...

Okafor 75
Jameer Nelson 72

most ready guys, but none should be higher than LBJ was...nowhere close. Okafor doesn't have the greatest post game and his strength (legs) could use some help. Nelson isn't very fast and his shooting is OK (needs time to set up).
H. Warrick 59

IMO his rating should be in the mid 50's (bad defensive player, weak jump shot, horrible strength for a post player)
L. Deng 58

hasn't officially declared yet.
Podkolzine 57

the kid is incredibly raw, should be low 50's or high 40's, but if there's a potential category, he should be close to 100 (horrible hands, bad awareness, bad basketball instincts, good shot blocker, rebounder, defender for a young kid though).
R. Gomes 57

hasn't officially declared.
Blake Stepp 56
D. Rice 56

these two guys should be in the low 50's...Rice has shown in pre-draft camps that he can't play. he's a shooter that's all...no passing, no handles, no defense, no rebouding..stepp is a mediocre point guard.
Luke Jackson 50

he's a guy who should be in the high 50's. he's the complete package...almost. very nba ready player, very good shooter, passer, ball handler, can play the 1,2, and 3.

Don't know if you are already doing this or not, but to see whose in the draft and whose out, check this out. IMO, www.draftcity.com, a new draft site, is a better site for player profiles than nbadraft.net, mostly because they have more and i've seen some totally ridiculous player profiles on nbadraft.net.

i hope some of this stuff helps. :D

Alright, thanks that sounds pretty accurate. The only reason I made Okafor and Nelson 70s is because I always make Lebron 78-82 because 69 was waaay too low for him.

I made Luke Jackson so low because he was like #35 of the nbadraft.net mock draft. I haven't even seen most of these players play before, and nbadraft.net does have some suspect profiles but that's all I was goin by.

Sun Apr 18, 2004 11:37 pm

I think Luke Jackson should be in the low 60s.

Yeah that's true about LBJ, but we don't know how Okafor and Nelson will do for sure...there's always a risk (Joe Smith anyone?). I personally love Okafor and Nelson, but I do have my doubts about them.

The misleading thing about looking at the mock drafts is that more often than not, a player with a vast amount of potential (like Pavel) will go before a very solid senior...like Chris Duhon. That's why you see guys like Duhon and Jackson in the 1/2nd round...they don't have this retarded "p" word ... potential.

Mon Apr 19, 2004 11:01 am

I think Nelsona and Okafor shouldn't go too much lower, seeing as in most roster patches Bron is 75-82, maybe they should be 68-70 or something.

Are the player ratings getting updated??
