That's interesting. I guess it's a good thing if he gets us more exposure in America. $$$ :applaud:

based on, well, a lot of factors including their stupidity in pick their Top 10, i've always maintained that the people that run ESPN's Sportscenter don't know anything about sports.

further evidence today (well, yesterday now) when they hyped today's meeting between Barca & Real Madrid:

Incredible finish to that game. Don't think either team deserved to lose. Hope Carragher's okay too. :(

I still support Eboue; that wasn't a penalty, and the referee spotted it at 101 mins, when they added 8. Terrible (N)

It made up for the double-penalty in the first half that we didn't get when Eboue struck Carroll across the face and then Djourou tripped Spearing.

As for the amount of injury time, there was a minute between them getting the penalty and Van Persie scoring it. Then another minute before the game restarted. Another 2 minutes from when we got that freekick to when it was taken. Mainly because the Arsenal wall wouldn't got back the required distance.

8+4=12. 90+12=102. That's why it went to 102 minutes.

And it was a penalty. Eboue was all over Lucas. He had his hands in his back and pushed him down. Stupid foul to give away at any point of the game, let alone that late on. All he had to do was shepherd Lucas out towards the corner and the whistle would have blown.

Cruzerr wrote:No respect to Dalgish.

Firstly, it's Dalglish. Secondly, you obviously know nothing about him if you have no respect for King Kenny.

Wenger is the one showing no class, complaining and going onto the field to confront the referee.
Strange how he managed to see this incident, yet when the decision against him isn't given he is always looking the other way and somehow misses it.

-----
The fact that we lost 3 players (including our captain) and had a 17 and an 18 year old in the fullback positions, we fought really hard for a deserved point.

The Djourou-Spearing one was a penalty, I'll give you that. But that one, I saw that replay like 10 times, Lucas tripped down himself and then raised his leg, that struck Eboue, who also went down and the referee bought it. Like Ferguson bought him in August. :|

Phil89 You are correct. It is football and these kind of games are very tense. I really didn't like when Dalglish * hope I got it right * blew Wenger off. I did not see the whole game, but knowing Wenger, he was not happy with the coach, which is usual. Im pretty sure I am talking to a scouser ? :D

I guess it doesn't matter in the end. This result doesn't really help either team in their aims for this season. :(

I want Arsenal to catch United to stop them winning the title and overtaking our record. But there have been more than just this game to blame for them not being able to do it. Very much like Liverpool losing against teams like West Brom cost us any chance at going for 4th or 5th. (N)

No, I'm not a scouser. I am very passionate about Liverpool though. Image

That's true. We lost to WBA in both ocassions this year. At least Newcastle stole a point from Utd today.

Still some hope then. Although United always seem to find a way to win.

Their game against West Ham pissed me off. They deserve to get relegated after giving up a 2-0 half time lead.

That was terrible. I also remember a Utd-Blackpool game where the 'Pool had a 2-0 lead too and gave it up. :shake:

Liverpool secure record kit deal.

22/04/2011 - 09:01

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has urged that money be made available for summer spending after the club secured the biggest kit deal in English football history. The £25m-a-year contract with Boston-based Warrior Sports more than doubles Liverpool's present agreement with Adidas and demonstrates the value of the New England contacts of the new owners.

Adidas which launched a new away kit last week as part of a £12 million a year contract with the club had the chance to match the American company's offer. However, they were not prepared to meet the price. It's a big blow to Adidas as only Real Madrid sell more branded shirts than Liverpool.
Warrior is a subisdiary of New Balance, a company best known for its running shoes. Liverpool's owner, Fenway Sports Group, have become increasingly close in recent months to Jim Davis, the chairman nof New Balance. It has entered into a multi-year partnership with the Boston Red Sox including a kit deal and a $1m fee for an illuminated logo inside Fenway Park, the home of the Red Sox.

Warrior has been best known up to now for its association with the game of lacrosse which has Native American origins. It is little known in Britain, but is played at top girls' schools like North London Collegiate and is popular at the better universities.

Whatever the link up does for lacrosse, it is solved the short-term cash flow problems at Liverpool caused by a likely failure to qualigy for the Champions League.

So combined with the kit sponsorship deal signed last year, this will give us £45m a year. Up from our previous deals worth £19m combined from Adidas and Carlsberg. :D

I wonder if Wenger will still be at Arsenal next season. I suppose the board are happy with finishing top 4 every season for financial reasons.
But the fans surely aren't happy with not winning anything since 2005.

Henry said it: There's no Arsenal without Wenger, and I've gotta agree.

At least he said he will buy this summer. Big relief.

As good as Barcelona are, seeing them racing over and surrounding the ref trying to get players booked or sent off all the time is quite pathetic. :scold:

the pepe red card was really questionable in my eyes, especially with dani alves spinning around in the air with his leg still out to draw attention like a punter does in american football to get a call from the referee. it obviously proved to be the difference as barca scored two goals afterwards. pathetic to see matches turn into big flopfests and players diving and complaining after every challenge.
