2011 Playoffs: (1) Bulls vs. (8) Pacers

Postby Lamrock on Mon Apr 11, 2011 3:16 am

This match-up is set in stone, so let's make our predictions and discuss the series. (you know the drill) I got Bulls in 5 here. As dominant as Chicago has been, one of their recent losses has been against the Pacers. With Indiana's tendency to play up to their opposition, I see them stealing a game.

I've got Bulls in six. The Pacers have played well lately and could steal a couple games.

Bulls in 5. Pacers will have a good game, but they still need some more time to mold into a better playoff team.

Bulls in 5. The Pacers are a good team at home and have beat Chicago there already. I don't see Indiana winning more then 1 game.

i think it really depends on the Pacers' inconsistent big men. Hansbrough, Hibbert, and McRoberts will need to bring their A-games which don't show up every game. rooting for the underdog here and i think they have more of a chance than most people think, but the bulls will still win here.

I wouldn't rule out the Pacers taking a game but I'll go ahead and pick the Bulls in four. Everything seems to be clicking right now and it seems like everyone's healthy (or as healthy as they're going to be the rest of the way), so I'll take them to pick up the sweep.

Bulls in 4, they've been unbelievable lately and it'd be hard to predict an 8th seed taking a game from them at this point.

Bulls in 6, giving the Pacers a couple wins because I want them to be good again

I know i'll be wrong (In that it will go seven) but i got the bulls in seven, strickly because if Mike Dunleavy and Tyler Hansbrough play well, and by well i mean 15 ppg from each in each game, then i think it can go to seven. I also agree that the pacers have been playing well, and seem to win when those two players score big, but of course as it was said, this series is set in stone.

My sources say Derrick Rose is the MVP.

But when I think about it, Larry Bird is the true MVP. Look at the team he's put together, and yet they're in the playoffs. If that's not reason to give Bird the MVP I don't know what is.

Derrick Rose was able to lead his team all season long, Larry Bird wasn't even allowed on the court, yet there's his team in the playoffs.

I know, I know, all my sources are telling me to not bet against the Bulls. But then I look back at their record under Tim Floyd, and I can't be sure they're ready yet. Meanwhile Larry Bird led the Pacers to the East Finals and NBA Finals. I think the choice is clear here.

Bulls in 4.

I like Indiana, or at least, I dont actively dislike them in the same way I dislike other teams in the East. I could see them keeping it close in Indiana, but they cannot guard the Bulls, certainly not when Chicago are playing as well as they are.

Indiana will make a run at the 6th seed next year with Atlanta likely to slip, but this year is going to have to be an "experience" year.

You have a strong feeling it's going to seven, but you also know you'll be wrong? I'm not picking on your prediction, if that's your pick then that's your pick, but those are two conflicting sentiments there. ;)
