That's a big if, with Bischoff and Hogan calling the shots.

Taker/HHH seems to be getting favourable reviews. Dropping the Bryan/Sheamus match was definitely a bad call. Giving the call to JR and King was a good move and should be made permanent.

6/8 on my predictions (or I guess officially 5/8 given the reversal of the result of Lawler/Cole) and eliminating the dropped US title match.

Agree what Jao said that Mania is a decent show. Some matches could have been longer and have better finish. Rhodes vs Mysterio is definitely my favorite match aside from Taker vs HHH and liked the fact that Rhodes got a face reaction from the crowd.

I wish Rock will have a funny promo again like this one

Meh.

Dropping the US title match was bullshit.

I didn't like the HHH/Taker match as much. It was clear that the only way they could create the illusion that HHH might win it, is by letting him hit countless pedigrees. Really missed the back and forth action that made the HBK match(es) so great.

only 4/8 on the predictions, 5/8 if you count that Lawler won.

Jae, Mistico is gonna debut on RAW today.

i think mcmahon really dropped the ball on this one. no one really cared about the 4 on 4 match where the wrestlers walking to the ring almost took longer than the match itself. and putting the snooki match after taker/hhh was a bad call too it was basically trish vs michelle mccool and then they took a bad fall to the outside which allowed trish to tag snooki to do 1 1/2 moves to win it.then in the main event, a quick match (at least it wasn't as quick as sting vs jeff hardy) that resulted in a bullshit double countout. only to have the rock restart it no DQ (why didn't they save us the time and make it no DQ beforehand?) and the rock bottom to cena was fairly predictable even before he made it a no DQ match. also, cole "won" his match although i think that was just a reason to give josh mathews a stunner to set up a JR/King announce team for the rest of the night. lol @ miz getting cheered during his match vs cena
i also think they totally over did the thing where wrestlers kick out of their opponent's finishing move i forget what it's called. i can't believe i actually expected almost all of the matches to be halfway decent.

Done well, kicking out of a finisher is an effective spot. False finishes build excitement in a pro wrestling match and going against expectations - that a finishing move is indeed the end of the match - can really make a match and fool smarks. There were a couple of times in the Taker/HBK matches at Wrestlemania 25 and 26 where it really looked like HBK was going to end the streak, which is the effect they were going for. It's a technique that can certainly be overused though, at which point it has the opposite effect.

^exactly. and it got really bad especially in the taker/hhh match for me because i really didnt think taker was gonna lose. but i gotta say i was a little surprised that taker won by submission. not many matches end that way nowadays.

Man the Rock is not giving out the same vibe anymore. This lame ass WWE is an insult to me as I watched it through late 90s and early 00s. Fucking kiddy bullshit. Even the Rock seems lame with his lines right now. I never though the Rock could look lame in the ring. But he is starting to look like that. Maybe it is because I have grown out of wrestling and the fact that it is all scripted makes me keep a watchful and critical eye on everything they say or do.

Sigh. Wrestling was one of my loves. Ruined.

Why is #WWE insisting people that people who can't wrestle should wrestle. Vickie Guerrero, Michael Cole, Snooki... John Cena.

lol

Tough Enough wasn't terrible

oh, and seriously? Rock Cena WM28? 362 days away?

Meh. Really all I can say about it. Did Trips or Taker use a move other than a punch, a spinebuster, a chair shot, a tombstone, a last ride or a pedigree? Worst match of the night. Nice to see a chairshot to the head though.

Since there were rumours of Rock/Cena actually happening, I figured it'd be Summerslam since it's one of their Big Four PPVs and it's obviously only a few months away rather than a year, but that ought to sell a bunch of tickets right off the bat. It'll be great to have The Rock back for one more match, though I imagine Cena would go over as the active wrestler, a passing of the torch kind of deal.

So, SmackDown has The Cor(r)e losing to Kane/Show/Kingston/Marella yet again, though they at least won a fall (2/3 falls). Remember when these guys actually looked like they were a threat to people?
