My thoughts and prayers are with her X

Even some of our fellow countrymen died there at Christchurch. Hope she can recover fast, X.

Started an association thread today. Played the first game. 22 fourth-quarter points from Odom, a couple of buzzer beaters, really good game. Then the game crashed, before it could save.
Booted it back up to see how much got saved and how much didn't, redid my sliders and coach settings, saw that Rondo got injured and is out for the season. Figured I could make that an article and have that as something to sit there until I get the Houston game played again. Halfway through writing it, BSOD.
On the bright side, I booted the computer back up, opened Firefox, and my post was there exactly as it had been before the computer crashed, which is kinda cool.

Wow. My computer froze completely in the middle of an enormous, long-winded, and perfect post in the LeBron vs. Kobe thread. (yes there's another one.) I'm not redoing it, because it took me a half hour!
Also, floods are expected all over southeast USA. I haven't heard rain this noisy since my trip to India during monsoon season.

Which browser you use?

Firefox.
It's my computer's problem, not my browser.

Look above, maybe it could've worked for you too:

I didn't get a blue screen, my computer froze completely, couldn't do a thing, so I powered off the computer and started it up again. I searched Firefox for it and I didn't find it, but it's not a big deal. We all know Kobe was better than LeBron three years ago, but LeBron's better now, and I was going to basically say the same thing in more words and back it all up with stuff.

so i've been stressing a lot in the past couple days. haven't been sleeping normal hours (it's 6:42 AM right now and i didn't fall asleep until 11 AM yesterday). i'm beginning to think that my unemployment benefits [my only source of income] have been cut off, so i have like no money coming in and i gotta get money somehow. long story short, i tried to be honest in the paperwork about me interning and it's messed it all up and i haven't been paid since december. i've just about run out of money that i've saved up as I've been working freelance graphic deisgn work as an "intern" (slave) with one place since november but they haven't really needed me past mid december. I just signed on last week as an intern far a startup company doing pretty much the same thing. I would be really happy doing what i'm doing if i was getting paid but i'm not.
so i figure i have a few options. i was thinking about getting a job at a bank as a teller or those people at the desks you talk to (personal banker). i figure with a lot of cash handling experience, this would be the best paying entry-level job i can get into right now. pros-steady source of income, should get paid more than what i need (ability to save money each month). cons-takes an arm and a leg and your first born child to get hired, uncomfortable meeting required sales & referral goals.
i could ask my roommate who works for his dad to see if i could get hired. no real details on this as i haven't asked about it yet. pros- could be easy to get hired. could be hired very quickly. cons- don't know exactly what job i'll be doing, might not get paid as much as i would like or not as much as a bank job.
or i could get ridiculously desperate and look for a job at a fast food joint or sometihng. these type of jobs are absolutely last resort options though.

Doesn't sound like much fun Q, hope you can sort it out soon.

There was a time during the my period of unemployment that I almost applied as a janitor. So much depression almost took me in on hating everybody. You can get through it, Q. Just be persistent.

After a week of reading break, I am back to school. No more NBA TV for whole day for me for awhile. I watched like 7 games this week and were awesome.
Mon Mar 21, 2011 5:15 pm
YOU KNOW HOW TO READ?!? We find that hard to believe.

Thought I'd update the couple of you who were interested.
So yeah, my 24 year old second cousin came out of her induced coma, that she's been in for almost four weeks since the earthquake in Christchurch. She's going well. Don't know how she took it or if she knows completely or whether it has sunk in that she's lost both legs completely and part of her pelvis (which I'm guessing means she probably can't have kids now).
Good for her to be alive I suppose, but it's not going to be an easy road for her.
Mon Mar 21, 2011 8:45 pm
That's a good development, X.
Mon Mar 21, 2011 9:21 pm
Thanks for the update X. Obviously that's got to be devastating news and as you said, a tough road ahead but I'm glad to hear that she survived.

better than a life lost, thanks for the update
