Unnable to play with TWO custom teams

Hi guys,
I created 2 custom teams and the game always crashes when i want to play with the two. But when i play with one of my teams vs. nba teams, it's OK. I don't know what's the problem. Where in the DBF editing did I fail?
So frustrating... Please help.

The teams are most likely missing an entry in location.dbf, which is required for the court. That's usually the one people overlook when creating custom teams.

I found my problem a little bit strange because the custom teams works great in a game with NBA teams(away or home there's no problem). But when it's Custom team 1 vs Custom Team 2, it crashes just after the loading screen.

OK, I will check it soon. Effectively, i did not spent a lot of time with location.dbf. Thanks you sir!

I opened the location.dbf but i don't know what to to because i'm not using custom art yet. For my teams, i used west/east all stars' court. So i don't think i have to add an entry. i just matched location ID in teams.dfb with the location 40.
i'm lost...

Try adding a new location, using the four letter abbreviation for the All-Star court and assigning the new location ID in teams.dbf.

There is no column for the 4 letter abbreviation in the location.dbf. And if the problem was not about the court? i tried with another team's court (by selecting another arena on the screen before "select jersey screen") and it always crashes.

At this point it would probably best if you post what you did in adding the teams, step-by-step. That way I might be able to identify something you missed.

I had this problem in 06, not sure if it's the same in 05. My problem was that the teams had no coaches.

Try adding coaches in the coaches.dbf file.

That's certainly a possibility, either a missing entry in coaches.dbf or possibly teamgear.dbf. Later versions of NBA Live include the four letter abbreviation in location.dbf, sorry for the mixup.

Thanks SydynElemental ! OK, I'll check those entries next time. I thought that those 2 entries, were optionnal. Andrew, how about erasing a team? I don't know how to erase a team. How to make them dissapear? For the players, i can move them to Legends Pool or Free Agents by changing their team columns, but how to do the same with Created Teams?

PROBLEM RESOLVED ! ! ! ! ! thanks to Andrew and SydynElemental After adding entries in coaches.dbf it works perfectly (until now )

Unlike players, any team other than the 30 NBA teams/East and West All-Stars can safely be deleted from the database. You'd need to use MS Excel or OpenOffice to do it; open up the teams.dbf file and delete the necessary row. Make sure you save the dbf in the correct format and as always, have a backup on hand in case something goes wrong. Once again, you can't delete any of the 30 NBA teams or the East and West All-Star teams, at least if you want Dynasty Mode and the All-Star Weekend to work properly.

Follow the steps outlined in the custom team tutorial, be sure you have entries for the team's jersey (teamgear.dbf) and coach (coaches.dbf).
