Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

I never saw ANY of the rapping Cena stuff. That was all during my hiatus from wrestling, so this is pretty refreshing.
Opinions are my own.

Seems they have decided to go with Taker/HHH at Wrestlemania, with stipulations (if any) yet to be announced.

you know, i was a HHH fan back in the DX days with chyna, Xpac, Billy Gunn, and Road Dogg, but after those days, i haven't really been impressed with Triple H.

what a terrible set up for the main event at WM (cena & Miz). it showed that the tag titles mean absolutely nothing now. and the mid card is non-existant now... when was the last time the US & intercontinental titles defended? they need some new writers.

i give cena props for his rap. it doesn't take much to spit out a couple lines written for him, but he got some nice insults in.

I dont watch Smackdown, but Daniel Bryan has been defending the US championship nearly every week, at least enough to be called a "Fighting Champion" in my book.

He had a dark match at the PPV and taped a Superstars match before Raw yesterday.

....but looking through results, I guess it has been since January 31st that he defended it, I guess I just remember him defending it nearly every Raw since winning it and then the good matches since then.

And there was a three way feud between Ziggler, Kofi and Swagger over the IC title with a few couple good matches a month ago or so.

What is the Cena rapping you are talking about?

fair enough, i guess he (Bryan) has been defending it i couldn't really tihnk of it off the top of my head. i dont watch SD either but i do remember Kofi & Dolph feuding for the IC belt but Dolph has been feuding with Edge for a while now.

daniel bryan does not need any hype to his title matches to make them great, but the lack of publicity does make the matches a bit forgettable.

That's one problem. The promotion has a lot of good workers, WrestleMania should be the PPV where these guys can shine. See Morrisson. They could have set up Miz-Morrisson at WrestleMania but they went on with the usual run and have Cena win it again -- unless they want to put Miz over and hand him pin the sucker at the grandest stage of them all.

Just three days without internet am I'm already lost on wrestling news. I need to catch up!

I saw Triple H's entrance and it reminds me of Triple H 2002 because of the jacket. :bowdown2:

And I honestly love what they had him to do on the ring, spoiling Undertaker's return. :bowdown2:

The problem is that Morrison is still being elevated and isn't as reliable a draw as Cena. We in the IWC find Cena stale and the main event repetitive, but we're a minority within the fanbase. It makes sense from a business standpoint and at least that particular matchup hasn't been done at Wrestlemania before.

Anyone else catch the 'Taker symbol during Miz and Del Rio's entrances?

Also, three title reigns of less than 24 hours, two of which lasted less than twenty minutes, in under a week.

WWE can kindly go fuck itself.

I get what they're going for with stuff like Ziggler's reign but I'm with you, I don't like it. Better to do an angle where Ziggler takes the belt and claims to be the champion but the company never officially recognises it, with Edge beating him and getting the belt itself back having never actually lost the championship.

yeah it seems like the belts don't even matter anymore. it's like all that matters is cena & all the other main-eventers getting their face seen on tv. not good from the fans' point of view, but good for McMahon and his $$$

Or at the very least not doing it the same weekend they change the tag titles three times in 24 hours. What the fuck is the point of that shit?

I'm off to Melbourne this weekend, planning on heading to Go Figure Collectables. Any recommendations of PPVs I should pick up?

Some might call it a markish complaint but I think it's a legitimate gripe. The championships are supposed to have significance in storylines and that significance is diminished when they change hands frequently and on technicalities. I remember a few years back, following an injury to Cena they had Vince award the belt to Orton for a free reign, he lost it to HHH in the opening match and then won it back at the end of the night, for three title changes in the space of an evening.

There's promoting an "anything can happen" kind of atmosphere with your angles and then there's flat out making championships seem unimportant and easy to win; who cares if you lose it, chances are you'll get it back at the next PPV if not next week! I haven't minded some short reigns and there are times when their hand is forced, but generally speaking I'm not a fan and they don't do much for the belts or the storylines.

Just to add to this, this is the place I'm referring to. They have a lot of older PPVs, I'd like to pick up a few while I'm there. Docos and the more recent events are easier to get a hold of, so they're not as much an issue.

None spring immediately to mind but I'm a fan of the anthology boxsets. So far they've done Wrestlemania, Summerslam and two volumes of Survivor Series.

Maybe Wrestlemania X7 and Summerslam 2002?

Speaking of Wrestlemania X7 after ten years, Triple H and the Undertaker will face again on Wrestlemania.

Yeah, I've already got the WM, SS and RR anthologies. There's not exactly a shortage of the S.S. anthology around JB Hi-Fis and such. I don't really want to pick up anything I'm likely to find here unless I can get it significantly cheaper, I'd rather wait and not blow thousands of dollars in a day. Mostly because I don't have thousands of dollars.

Already have it, not that it's really all that worth having. I've got the main event on both of Eddie's DVDs. The rest of the card wasn't all that special.
