What are you expecting to see?

I want to see some updates in the Franchise mode, maybe some added options, and hopefully promising upgrades to gameplay.

Mainly an improved Dynasty Mode, with further gameplay tweaks. Mostly I'd like to see improvements to Dynasty Mode though. Most of my pet peeves with Live 2004 were Dynasty related, so I'll take Live 2004's gameplay with improvements to the modes and features.

Good news (Y)

Cool of them to have stuff so far progressed by then (hopefully anyway) so that they can show off a new game...
Hope we can get some screens and whatnot from it.

I also wish to have a better Dynasty. Aslo some better graphics and gameplay feel to it. The surounding court feel so it looks more realistic.
A good thing would be more shoe also :) I doubt that they'll make new ones though. The jump from 2003 was realy big, and they already have so many great shoes. But hopefully it will be more patchable...

I hope they'll have a multiplayer dynasty mode--and i'll be happy. Fix the offensive rebound slider too.

Def Jam Vendetta 2 (Cube, PS2, Xbox)
The Godfather (PS2, Xbox)
Madden NFL 2005 (Cube, PC, PS2, Xbox)
NBA Live 2005 (Cube, PC, PS2, Xbox)

That's what I'm looking forward to. BTW has anyone seen the new Madden 05 screens? I'll make a post in other games.

I want to see stuff about them working hard on Dynasty mode and not trying to add a whole bunch of features that are 30% done. I'm looking for some gameplay vids that show that you can throw a proper outlet pass and that you don't aoutomatically protect the ball, or stumble around so much after being hit in mid-air.

I hope the player animations are completely different.

I mean, i like NBA Live 2004's gameplay, in fact i love it. But the player animations are annoying... they're cartooney... sudden... they slide all over the place... it just looks funny so i hope they change it completely to make it look more realistic.

And Dynasty better improve or else! :furious:

Fri Apr 09, 2004 3:13 pm

when mutombo blocks a shot they should show him doing this :scold:

seriously though they need to add more dynasty features and more realistic ratings.

Fri Apr 09, 2004 3:52 pm

The sliding thing is caused by the 'always face the hoop thing' which I at first thought was kind of cool, but now strongly dislike. Otherwise I like the actual animations (just not how long they take)

Holy crap I've posted a lot today.

Found some cool news regarding NBA Live 2005:

Release date for USA: 4 October 2004.
Acording to EBGames and GameCube Europe

European release seems to be 15 October 2004.
Acording to Game-and-Fun.de.

I don't know if they are correct. But it seems realistic.
But EA have a tendence to delay their game though...

Fri Apr 09, 2004 7:49 pm

i know you guys are talking about the defenders sliding around like iceskaters, but it reminded me of the sliders. i hope they make all of the sliders more effective in gameplay. because some of them seem to have no effect at all even if you're putting it at 0 or 100. this allows us to have more flexibility based on how we play the game.

EA should just make it look like the real nba in every aspects (at least as much as possible and a lot more than now).
I dont think its asking for too much as the game is called nba live...

Sat Apr 10, 2004 3:52 am

Dahl, everybody knows you just take the release date they say and add a month. Look for it around November.

Sat Apr 10, 2004 4:52 am

March Madness 2005 (PS2, Xbox)

I wish they'd put this on the PC.

Sat Apr 10, 2004 6:09 am

Yea, Colin. The game has been known to be delayed a few times. It's in the nature of it all.
It will probeblly be delayed this time also, but I guess that's a good thing. Gives them more time to improve it

By the way; I got a mail from Gamespy;
I'm invited to the E3, free of charge. But I have to pay my own travel though.
And since I live in Sweden, that's not gonna happen

And NO I won't/can't give anyone of you it.
It was sent to me as a member of the hosted sites...

I don't think its a big deal, really. Last year, didn't they show NBA Live 2004 at E3? It was just about three screenshots of the Dallas Mavs, and we all thought the graphics looked crappy. They probably won't reveal much besides a couple of screens.

Yeah, another one of those weird double posts. I know I didn't click the Submit button twice as the posts were 18 minutes apart...and I was offline before the second one was apparently posted. Oh well.

They showed a brief gameplay video that had the Kings and Cavs playing which showed some of the new animations, and problems with the animations. That might have been a bit after E3 though, there was probably about 10 screens.

Frankly if they don't change the speed of the players in the game....double team recovery speed, fast break catch up speed I will be severly disappointed. THe gameplay needs an overhaul because nothings really changed since before 2000 in terms of spacing/double teaming/fast breaks.

Also every team better not run dynamic offensive sets.....Every game the CPU jacks up 30-40 three pointers.....Team specific plays and offenses need to be implemented.....like New Jersey's princeton offense, Lakers Triangle sets.....they may be in the game but they sure don't work!!

I am looking forward to Inside Drive whenever that comes out next because that game played like NBA basketball it just looked and moved terribly.

Wed Apr 14, 2004 1:16 am

I heard they weren't going to make Inside Drive anymore, I don't know if its true though.

I was just about to post that. Anyway, freestyle air sounds tight. I hope EA sticks to their promises this year.

Sat Apr 17, 2004 6:38 pm

HTTP 404. It can't find anything.
Cout you post the main contesnt of the thingy? What's this Freestyle Air?

Sat Apr 17, 2004 7:23 pm

yeah please, we really want to know whats going on this year!!!!

Sat Apr 17, 2004 7:55 pm

i hope they are not introducing Freestyle Air as a distraction for not fixing the other aspects of the game..
