Re: The "How is your Association going" Thread

Tue Feb 01, 2011 2:22 pm

Fellow 2k players, i'd like to seek your help about this matter. I've been playing association mode and two of my players have been sidelined because of injuries. Now, my problem is that everytime i try to activate my player/s in the d-league, it says that "You should have at least 12 players on this team". I'm in dire need of a big man, really, and when i try to sign someone in league minimum, it says that i don't have a space in the hard cap. I'm using the lakers. Can you please help me? thanks a lot.

For the D-League problem, you can do nothing about that. It's a persistent problem even in 2K10.
As for the hard cap. You can do nothing about that unless you dumping some salaries by trading or letting go of your free agents during the offseason.

Temporarily edit down the salary of one of your players

Simmed a season with the Thunder. Went to the playoffs, beat the Spurs 4-3, then got sweeped by the Mavs.

Enjoying my first game of the second season so far. Durant and Kris Joeseph have been on fire. Time to rape the league.

Started my second season with a reach of the final against the Heat. Thought I was going to lose but made a good come back in the fourth. I hit a 3 in an inbound pass and fouled Chalmers who made one of two free throws with 1.6 seconds left. I called a timeout and called a play, but it started too slow. Kyle Korver was supposed to set a pick, but it didn't work, so I used a lead pass to bring him behind the 3pt line and he knocked down a contested 3 in LeBron James face for the win at the buzzer. My first buzzer beating game winner in 2K11. :D

being the nerd i am i spent the morning updating my 2k9 rosters to now with minimal fuck ups. Sure the ratings aren't right and the contracts arent right outside of a few: but for the most part i have the rights guys on the right teams. Gonna play a few games and see if anyone strikes me enough to do a "real" association. May sim a season or two and just make moves/do drills/watch and then take over

Possible Candidates:
Jazz
Clipps (I know i know, but blake is fun dammit)
Bulls (trying to avoid boozer though, i use him in like every association somehow, kinda sick of him. If i do the bulls, i'd probly trade him)
Suns (trying to get Nash a ring before he retires although their playstyle is bad for me)
Knicks (and trying to get Melo/Paul up there...)

Really im just looking for a team with a hook i won't get bored with. My only definite no's are the lakers (if i did them i'd blow them up on purpose) and the wizards.

I'd use the Jazz, but probably because there hasn't been a Jazz story in years. Try to get Jerry Sloan a ring (Y)

Amar'e dropped 53 on the Nuggets in an OT thriller last night. Game was tied at 106 at the end of regulation, NY went on a 13-6 run with Eddy Curry scoring seven straight points to ice the win. Carmelo had 43 in a losing effort. Landry Fields added 27 for the Knicks.

I'm at 4-2 with Clippers. I'm using Alby's roster and sliders. Though, I set it to superstar for a thrill. won the first 3 games then lost the two, it's consecutive. Just played the 4th game. Oh, I trade Gomes for T-Mac, and scored 20+ in his debut, and 35 for his 2nd game. Anyways, back to the 4th game, Nuggets lost to me by 11 points, Carmelo was on fire, but everybody in my team was on fire!

Just won the championship with the Thunder in season 2. Sweeped the Heat. Got Fab Melo and he's my starter over Chuck Hayes.

EDIT: Damn, the Warriors are fun to play with. Expect an association soon :cheeky:

It's taking some time, but Mozgov is developing an inside game. Once it's as good as Curry's, I'll start him over Turiaf.

Some news from my Pacers:

After some chewy games and the annoying lost against Chicago in overtime, i decided to make a cut.

I traded the old men Foster and Dunleavy, the promising rookie Paul George to Phoenix for another old man, Vince Carter, plus Josh Childress.

I am a bit upset trading Paul George but he didnt help me either in the last games.

Foster IND > PHO
Dunleavy IND > PHO
George IND > PHO

J. Childress PHO > IND
V. Carter PHO > IND

Well, somehow it helped me. I won against the Lakers 106:92 , both Carter and Childress scored more than 20 points.

Granger to Carter

My record is 10:14 now

this is my lineup:

C Hibbert
PF Gibson
SF Granger
SG Carter
PG Collison

update:

send B. Rush to Chicago for Taj Gibson.

Just won 5 games straight. T-Mac and Griffin are both doing great.

Damn Bulls hit every shot in my face. They didn't utilize Rose, though. Mainly Boozer, Ronnie Brewer, and Joakim Noah had some hustle baskets. I couldn't knock down anything with Eric Gordon, Blake Griffin was being muscled in the post but still pulled a double double and mce numbers, and my guys were getting stripped left and right. It was a close game, but the Bulls just shot the ball well and found the open man for easy baskets on many occasions. I wonder why Rose didn't take it to the basket much.

When i played the Bulls Rose scored 37 points, i lost in overtime.

...........

Some news from my Pacers:

Now the Suns and Celtics made a strange move:

Steve Nash and a 51 gen Center to the Celtics

receive:

Nate Robinson and Jermaine O'Neal.

There are also rumors the Celtics want to trade Shaq.

The Suns really look strange now, after i stole them Carter and Childress now they are without Nash.

.

My new players are doing very well,

i won the past 4 games VC is scoring around 20 ppg - Taj Gibson strong on the board helping out Hibbert - Josh Childress always does 10-15 points from the bench.

I dont regret the trade with the Suns.

Try using Davis. I'm using him to penetrate the basket then pass the ball to Kaman for a mid-shot. I'm too annoyed at Griffin. He never posted, he's always in the freakin' three point range.:/

Re: The "How is your Association going" Thread

Fri Feb 11, 2011 1:14 am

That's weird. Blake is always self posting for me. I also call plays that could end up with an alleyoop when he cuts past a screen to post up. I use Davis a lot off the drive. He finishes well and gets to the line frequently. It's just that Rose was playing good d and their big men were blocking my layups. You win some and you lose some, but that was a very intense game, that's why I posted about it.

Started one with the Warriors. Traded Monta for Josh Smith and Biedrins for Ben Gordon.

C - Lee/Udoh
F - Smith/Amundson
F - Wright/Radmanovic
G - Gordon/Williams
G - Curry/Law

Beat the Clippers in my first game by 40+ points behind 19 threes and 4 guys (Williams, Curry, Smith, Wright) with 20+ points. Josh Smith had 21, 13 and 9 assists.
