2K Sports touts NBA 2K11 sales, awards

In a post on the official Facebook page, 2K Sports have touted the success of NBA 2K11 in terms of sales and awards. The game has sold nearly four million units worldwide and garnered 25 awards and honours from various media outlets, including 20 Sports Game of the Year awards for 2010.

I think with that amount of money they are making, it would be an amazing payback for the PC people if they could release a simple patch. It's been 4 months and a few games released at the same time, have more than 3 patches. Football Managaner 2011 for example.

2k9 was all through steam, so we didnt have public knowledge of all these delays and teasing like this year and with 2k10.

Well, money can make things go faster. I mean, I don't believe that they took 4 months to make a single patch correcting a few things that a trainer can do. And if they did, they have problems with the staff. Anyway, if they create and release a whole new game in 12 months, they should not create a single foolish patch almost half of the time you take to create a game.
This is old conversation, just more of the same though, don't wanna repeat myself with the same chat from last year.
Sorry I'll never understand the way 2ksports works concerning patch releasing.
I'm having fun with my game, it's almost perfect, but if it wasn't for the tsearch and trainers, some modes would be useless. I mean, the community here is making the support for the game, not 2ksports.

In that particular case it doesn't... But if they HAVE to take prioritys is because they don't have the right amount of people working on this game. Hire more people. Especially to PC plataform, their monopoly is big here, since we don't have NBA Live's for a real long time. I mean, I don't swallow that priority talk, c'mon they can pay even guys here from the forum, real talented. Give them one month and some money and I bet they could correct some stupids bugs and deal with DD's at a blink of an eye.

Well, when you make millions and millions selling something, you don't expect your job to be easy. The only thing easy in this world is to lay down and die, I known they can't hire people just 'cause they have "COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY" degrees, I ain't no kid. I don't expect that whatever they could do to improve the PC support, should be easy, I expect that since you don't have financial issues you can improve the service you offer to people. It's like a punch in my chin, reading their increasing profit but their decreasing respect and intelligent treating old costumers and potencial new ones.

I just want to make a comment on the NBA 2K series. First off, a company that sells 4 million copies of any game at $60.00 dollars a whack and doesn't provide the services that it advertises should be ashamed of themselves. - And probably SUED in COURT!! - For over 3 - 4 years most of us know that 2K sports servers have been shamefully HORRIBLE. Many, many people that play that game on a daily basis complain about how bad the online game experience is for them. And alot have given up on the game altogether and have UN-INSTALLED it form there PC, because the game isnt worth playing anymore. I am no stranger to this either. I bought NBA 2K9, 2K10, and 2K11 all expecting that each year it would get better, but it didnt. Im not talking about in-game (gameplay) because that is pretty good, the Ai is pretty good also. But most people are playing ONLINE these days, and all that happens is NETWORK ERROR DISCONNECTIONS once you are playing in a game. it usually happens within the first half of the game. It kicks you out, and it wont let you continue the game. 2K for 3-4 years has been the same, nothing has changed, and 2K has showed us that they aren't going to, and never had intentions of fixing there ONINE SERVERS. They simply ignored the entire community that purchases there games every year. Most people are FED UP with this shit now, and are finally moving on (by not buying there games.) - So you tell me, why isnt, or hasn't 2K fixed these problems yet ?? Its not lack of money ? Its not lack of ability > is it ? - its one word i can describe it: GREED!!!!!! - Money HUNGRY WHORE''S of the gaming world (2Ksports) They dont want to spend a DIME to Fix anything, because they want all the money for themselves. I figure it would cost somewhere around a MILLION DOLLARS to UPGRADE and buy new SERVERS, but 2K doesnt want to spend the money.. FUCK 2K sports, and FUCK RONNIE 2K the ADMIN..He sucks! - enough said...

brian2017, that's right dude. That's the reason I came here to remember the same talk we had the last 2 NBA 2k, 'cause I can't read the news saying they are selling than ever and still can't make a server right? I mean what's the big difference from the FIFA series or others FPS games that have real good servers, real good support. The sorry thing for me is that I only play PC games and I love NBA 2k11 and I loved back there when we still had NBA live's so I'll always buy NBA 2k series games. I wish they could do better with this lack of competition.

You sound skeptical. I know you are a big patcher and you are very satisfied when you can make your MOD's but imagine a NBA 2k you can't edit and mod? There's people out there that don't know how to use trainers and tsearch to make the game a little better and there's people who likes to play online. I mean, you know that if one person go sue them it won't make a difference, mostly because they will release a patch and probably they have very good lawyers that will justify the shameful online experience. So it sounds very ironic when you say it that way. We should be together against this, even on a forum.

You mean the console version? or 2k9 for a few months? still very fun games. They dont need to cater to modders, they can encrypt the shit out of the game and I would still play it and have fun. Gameplay and feature wise, this is the best basketball game ever created.

Then do it, just try to remember a game called NBA Live 07. On the PC the player never fatigued and autosubs were messed up. Terrible gameplay and online never really worked for any PC Live game. Now the ps2 was an exact copy of the PC version and obviously never got fixed since you cant get patches on the PS2. Nevermind the 360 version that was just atrocious and broken. No class action lawsuit, no refunds, just a bunch of meaningless whining.

Online leagues still exist for 2k11, hell even I've played a few full games on it. So the feature is working, you have nothing to stand on and sue about but if it makes you feel better then go ahead and try to get money back on what is widely considered the best sports game since NFL 2K5.

I never said the opposite, it is the best basketball game ever. You're being selfish because there's people out there that don't like to play single player modes and people like myself that like careers modes like MY PLAYER and if it were not by TSEARCH this mode would be unplayable untill I got my hands on the patch. I think everyone should do what their rights allow them to. And we are not discussing the quality of the game, we are discussing the quality of their support, since bugs and malfunctions in general are part of every business, like cars, aeroplanes, etc. This MUST be clear to everyone, I'm not talking about the overall quality of this product, I'm talking about their support, and why I came here in this post to talk about that? Because IF their problem supporting PC players was lack of money to attend every aspects of their product, now it should be not, since they are making seas of money.

Any mod, admin, or forum member can call it a "bunch of meaningless whining" the same way some members here use the F word in addressing 2K or Ronnie for their inaction regarding the PC patch.
People here are free to express and discuss (within considerable boundaries) regarding such troubles with the game the same way some people are also free to disagree with others' opinions and call it "whining".
If the mods and admins are really trying to shut up the whining, they could have just easily deleted some posts or banned some members.
Judging by this thread and countless other posts in the Patch thread, they have let the "whining" continue...
