I am a big Owens fan. A versatile athletic guy who at times can man both forward spots. He made the Bulls inside defense look incredibly soft.

I was a bit surprised here. I expected more from Hardaway but then Owens made one by one... well Hardaway booked 16 assists on that way.

The next game will be in Houston against the acting NBA Champion.

126 : 118 OT

November 16th 1992 Game 9

Chicago wins in Overtime

A memorable game this evening in Houston. The Houston Rockets as the acting Champion welcomed the Chicago Bulls the Champion of 1991.

The first quarter of the game was tied, but then Chicago made a step and had a 9 point lead after the third quarter. In the fourth quarter the Rockets came back outscoring the Bulls with 25 : 16.

With 5 seconds left on the clock the Bulls tried to take the game but Jordan missed the crucial jumpshot and the game was still tied. In overtime the Bulls intensified their defense and reduced turnovers. This lead to a very close 126 : 118 win over the Houston Rockets.

Axel Gomez the second round Pick of the Rockets showed a solid game, but not a great one. He had some problems defending on Jordan but who doesnt have problems with that?
Gomez made 4 points 3 assists and also grabbed 2 rebounds, he seems to be a good backup for Houstons starting PG Kenny Smith.

" I love to play for the Rockets in my hometown Houston. Rudy T. is a great coach, i can learn so much from him and improve my Play as a PG steadily. "

The Rockets had a hard time aiming for the rim. It didn't help that the Rocket's Gomez got jammed on. :o

I got posterized by greatness. :bowdown2: I did not know that Brad Miller and Courtney Lee played in the 90's. :P Still, Axel did good with his mini triple-double stats.

The Rockets had a very bad FG percantage, look at Kenny Smith 6 out of 21. I think i underestimated them in the last Q, so they almost got the win. I am not used to playing concentrated 4 quarters long.
My turnover-rate was again sky high, but i am workin on it. I am a bit concerned about that, when i play with my 10/11 Pacers i only have about 10-12 turnovers. I think i am to much into highlight plays when i compete with the Bulls

I knew you would recognize them  ... there are still some original players in the Roster because of some capacity issues with created players. However they are all second or third backup.

Some news around the league:

Injuries:

Phoenix: Isaac Austin > broken back 6-8 weeks out

Players of the Week: nov 7th-nov13th

East: Jay Humphries MIL :cheeky:

West: Karl Malone UTA

Jay Humphries, the Point Guard from the Milwaukee Bucks

his last games:

vs. GS 39pts 2reb 11ast
vs. NO 33pts 4reb 5ast
@ IND 21pts 5reb 6ast
@ BOS 26pts 1reb 5ast

I think MJ did too much turnovers over the last few games. However Player Of The Month should be Jordans trophy :D.

Shaq and Lewis challenge Chicago...

The two new players from LSU Shaquille O'Neal and Willie Lewis really challenged the Chicago Bulls today. The Mavericks who finished last overall in the past season already won 7 out of 10 games this year.

Shaquille O'Neal couldnt get the big scoring numbers so far but his defense and rebounding really improves that 92/93 Mavs team. With Willie Lewis the Mavericks got a talented Shooting Guard who also knows how to put his team member into good positions.

O'Neal nearly had a 20/20 score this evening with 19 points and 19 rebounds he made his best NBA game so far. On the Bulls side it was the duo Jordan and Pippen who could turn the game and finally secured the victory for Chicago.

Lewis impressed also through his defense, he booked 5 steals and kept Jordan under 30 points.

Long way to go

Willie Lewis benefits a bit because Lafayette Lever is slightly injured so he could play over 40 minutes this game.

I am also considering to give all NLSClers a push from December on, because i like to get them a bigger role in the league.

-------

Here are the next games on that 7 game roadtrip:

nov 23rd @ LAL (9-5) , with Steven Joes (clevelandwins)
nov 24th @ PHO (7-7), with Zee Otoo

nov 26th @ DEN
nov 27th @ SAC , with Casey Lee

then i finally get back to Chicago on December 1st , against the Magic
