'98 Pacers *Released*

Thu Jan 13, 2011 2:50 am

Image

Retro Teams Included in Roster:

1993 Suns *This team is the work of Juan33. All credit goes to him.*

Refreshed by a change of scenery and a competitive supporting cast, Charles Barkley won MVP and led his Suns to the NBA Finals.

Image

1995 Rockets

Struggled in the regular season but were incredibly clutch in the playoffs. One of only two teams in history to beat four 50 win playoff teams en route to the title. (The other? The 2001 Lakers).

Image

Image

1995 Magic *This team is the work of Juan33. All credit goes to him.*

A supporting cast of solid veterans was led by young guns Shaquille O'Neal and Penny Hardaway all the way to the NBA Finals

Image

2001 Lakers

Featured the unstoppable duo of Shaq and Kobe. Battled injury/boredom/chemistry issues in the regular season but got it together in the Spring and came within one overtime loss from sweeping the entire playoffs.

Image[/url]

2001 76ers

Allen Iverson won the MVP award while carrying an injury plagued and underwhelming supporting cast to the Finals.

Image

2004 Pistons

This group of gritty and defensive minded Pistons pulled off perhaps the greatest upset in NBA Finals history.

Image

1992 Team USA *This team is the work of Lin0v3rG4m3. All credit goes to him.*

Inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame as The Dream Team: the greatest collection of talent ever assembled on one team.

Image

1998 Indiana Pacers: Huge credit to LittleMan for his contributions.
Under first year coach Larry Bird, the Pacers won 58 games and took Michael Jordan's Bulls to seven games in the Conference Finals.

Each team was included with permission. As a courtesy to the modders who worked hard to create these teams and CFs, you will need to visit the following threads in order to get the CF and jersey files associated with each team. If you've already downloaded their files then all teams will work:

Other Credits:
  • Many CF textures are the works of the 2k10 retro modders. They did a great job and I have tried to convert them to 2k11 as best as possible. If you see your work and I did not give you credit, please let me know. I also referenced fifedawg's ratings extensively, so shout out to him for his hard work. Ricoy has done an outstanding job with some of the retro courts, so make sure you appreciate his effort.

Re: The Elite Ten: '95 Rockets Preview

nice to see that you work on a new mod,
looking forward to your release

Exporting the TMM files may sound like a good idea, and it is,because it allows flexibility,

but there are quite a few disadvantages,

it will eventually crash your roster file if you mess around by loading and deleting the teams for too many times.

Also, we can never apply edits to the TMM files.
The changes you made won't be saved and you will have to remake the changes next time you start the game,

you can customize association and export it to apply the changes, but it is too much of a fuss.

I don't think there is a better solution, but TMM files piss me off.

BUT once u have the tmm file and the cf's u can create the players and put them wher u want ...so if somebody does the cf's and gives u a TMM u can not b lazy and do it yourself if u wanna go further

I understand this and I'm aware of the benefits of TMM files,
what I meant was that TMM files may not be as good as we think.
let's hope that 2k will improve it next year

You're right, TMM files are a pain in the butt, but they're the best solution right now.

Was there a Lakers version of Robert Horry made last year? I thought I saw one in a screen shot, but I haven't been able to find him in any packs. If anyone is up for making an afro / goatee version of Horry that would be perfect. I'm having trouble with his cf.

You don't do the stadium...
For rockets i have a basical stadium with 76ers image D:
Can you do stadiums? :D
and the rockets logo is the actual not 95 logo :( (In game there isn't any logo, only for LAL)
Otherwise nice work :D
(If you do stadiums is a fantastic work... XD)

Thank you, but I don't do stadiums. I have contacted some talented people to see if we can get some stadiums done for these historical teams.

Did you put the included logo in your 2k folder? If so then it should show the modern logo while looking at rosters but will show the 95 logo in game.

It shouldn't show the 76er image on the floor. It is a generic stadium but should at least show the 95 logo at midcourt:

Thanks, man. Yeah, make sure you have Tommyhtc's arm bug fixes.

Lordonjohn wrote:bro wolfbeard, where did u get those socks on the 1983 sixers preview?

Those are the normal long socks. They just look a little better with historical shorts.

LittleMan wrote:nice job broo (Y) (Y) (Y) but the tmm file doesnt work

Thanks, but what do you mean it doesn't work? I just double checked and it should work fine. Sometimes TMM files do goofy stuff like mess up the stadium, player names and salaries etc. Is this what you meant by doesn't work? I included a base roster because TMM files sometimes do goofy things.

For now I'm focusing on championship teams, but T-Mac's Magic, the '04 Lakers, Iverson's 76ers, Ray Allen's Bucks and the '02 Kings are all definitely possible.
