Are there any particular Association/Dynasty stories that you follow or check into every once in a while?

I check in on The X's Wolves story, I liked hov's Sonics before it ended and I check to see if Thierry is still going . I tried to keep up with all the active ones but it's so hard remembering everything that's been happening in everyones threads so I try to limit it to a few stories. I should start replying more actually.

On a side note, my new story should be starting soon.

Probably Ben because he's a lot smarter than me but we've never had any conflicts in the past that lead to flame wars. I think he'd beat me pretty easily but it'd be fun because he'd easily be the biggest challenge of anyone who posts here.

I see so much dumb shit written on the NLSC these days that I have a really hard time telling when someone is being serious and when they're not I didn't know if the Ben thing was a joke. That's not a reflection on Axel but I mean there's a thread on NBA Talk where a guy is saying Jameer Nelson for Derrick Rose would be a fair trade. It's hard to tell when someone's joking.

Our biggest problem other than being correct, sensible and rational all of the time is that we're open to being wrong (even though we never are) and also open to the existence of fundamental disagreements. What, five years ago you didn't know much about stats, but now you instantly see just how stupid the RealGM "experts" are. Yet at the same time when we disagree about something we state our position, argue it respectfully to a point and then recognize we can't square the circle and move on to something like the greatness of BrokeNCYDE. People who only know us on NBA topics or mocking people would see us near lockstep, but we disagree fundamentally on other topics they'll never look into but unlike most people our logic and rationality extends to this and allows us to say that we disagree and we don't really matter so it's not that important. We've disagreed with many things, taxing the rich, immigration, etc. But we never turned it into a flame war so nobody cares instead we had an nice argument and realized there's simply no point of agreement even though we can understand the other persons point of view. And it's also worth acknowledging that me and Jae disagree on things that do not have a right answer. A point missed by too many.

There have been plenty of NLSC members who are capable of doing this, but entirely unwilling to do this. He who should not be named and I had plenty of cordial MSN chats but he would turn into a raving lunatic over some minor point he removed from context on the forums.

I can't believe shadow mentioned Thug and Shane Hefty as good flame warriors. The only good thing Thug ever did was make a jean shorts patch we could use as a meme forever and make Mike Davis try to sue him. Look at any of his LeBron James homer threads (in hopes of LeBron coming to the Knicks) from the last few years and recognize that he's utterly deficient. This is the guy who could not figure out how to urinate properly. And Hefty mostly just worded people into submission. Let alone included me with them when the "utter destruction" prospect was out there. There's a thread entirely devoted to Indy and Shannon having to change definitions and their arguments constantly until they can find an out. And what about the black forum? Even when I may or may not have been arguing with people as a teenager while intoxicated (which never, not once happened, it's illegal) I have to ask Jae if I definitively lost any of those. (Should be noted I regret and wish none of any of that ever happened and I was a fool for actually arguing with people over the internet in that manner.)

Plus, Jae can't win anything ever because in the best NLSC flamewar ever he contended that Australian was a race. And Stevan has to lose points for missing my sarcasm in the same thread. I'm pretty sure I was TRYING to tell you it was Thug.

Also me and Dr. Seth were the only ones in a season prediction thread to ever say that the Jordan Wizards would never make the playoffs. Eat it.

In my defense I did continue to argue that Australian was a race without any intention of admitting to being wrong, because I knew that would negate any and all other arguments being made in said thread at the time.

God knows, I'm just over their bullshit. We've had patchers on this site for over a decade and there's always problems here and there with them disagreeing with forum rules or patches being stolen or whatever, but when people are trying to start mutinies and stuff it goes way too far. The whole "RIP NLSC" thing.. over what? Because they didn't get their own way? That's why I haven't changed their sigs, I'll leave them there to remind everyone who sees them of how pathetic that persons life must be to focus their energies on something like that.

The funny or sad thing is those drama queens will eventually be back if/when 2K12 for the PC comes along.
Something similar happened last year (or was it for 2K9?). They even had their own site/forums and yet and most of them came back here when the next NBA 2K game was released. They just can't resist because they're a bunch of attention whores really.
