The defending champ is on a great start, losing only three of their first eighteen games and two of those are close loss. They end the month of November with a three games winning streak, hopefully they continue their good way of playing.

Image
Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant continues to dominate the league.

Leading the pack is their star players, Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant. Bryant is averaging a league high 32.0 PPG while Gasol continues his all around performance with 20.0 PPG, 9.2 RPG and 4.3 APG. Many look Gasol as the sidekick of Bryant but for his teammates there is no sidekick; it is like 1a and 1b. Both can be a star on any team and can be the main focus on offense.

For now the team can improved their inside defense and three point shooting, Andrew Bynum can make those things easier with his presence. Reports say that the young big men might return early this December.

PLAYER STATS:

Kobe Bryant: 32.0 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 4.3 APG, 1.5 SPG, 0.4 BPG, 53.1 FG%, 39.2 3P%, 92.6 FT%

Pau Gasol: 20.0 PPG, 9.2 RPG, 4.3 APG, 0.3 SPG, 1.4 BPG, 54.5 FG%, 0.0 3P%, 76.8 FT%

Shannon Brown: 10.3 PPG, 1.3 RPG, 0.8 APG, 1.1 SPG, 0.1 BPG, 46.7 FG%, 36.2 3P%, 87.1 FT%

Kobe is putting some unreal numbers this season. Instead of slowing down he is putting up his best numbers in years.

STORIES AROUND THE LEAGUE

Image

New Big Three
When Lebron James and Chris Bosh decided to team up with Dwayne Wade and play in Miami it is expected that they will be a contender. The three players still average allstar numbers, in fact the three combined 68.4 of the team’s 100.9 points average. But still they are only second in the Eastern Conference.

Who needs a King
Cleveland might get over soon when you know who leave the town. Coach Byron Scott really brings out the best of the Cavaliers especially on the veteran Antawn Jamison; he is averaging 26.1 PPG and 8.0 RPG as he leads his team on the top of Eastern Conference with a 12-5 record.

Trouble in Texas
Even though the San Antonio Spurs is an old team still they are capable to make noise in the league, but now they are currently in the 10th spot on the Western Conference. They lose three straight game and now fall to an 8-9 record. Rumors about Tony Parker wanting a trade might be affecting the team’s chemistry.

Losing the Touch
The Boston Celtics made the Finals last season but now their return might not happen; they are now 10th in the East with an 8-9 record. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen both are struggling; Allen only averaging 14.5 PPG while Pierce is 13.5 PPG.

Clippers 5-13?

I was hoping for some news on Blake

Also, (this is just nitpicking..but) i think u got the Turnover leader in reverse? I thought the lower the number of Turnovers the better?

unless ur point is to show that Monta Ellis has the worst handles in the league...?

KidJustin, I might do it in next month, about the turnover leader I just copy the way NBA.com presents it. The player who turns the ball the most is the leader.

Wizards-Lakers notebook
By: NBA.com
Posted December 7,2010

THE FACTS: Kobe Bryant scored 20 points of his 26 points in the first half, Pau Gasol had 12 points and ten rebounds as the two star players sit almost the whole second half. Both players only played their season low 20 minutes. As the bench takes over the game. Rashard Lewis led his team with 23 points while star rookie John Wall finished with 9 points and twelve assists.

THE STAT: The Lakers bench outscored the Wizards bench 60-18. Almost all players in the Lakers scored at least 5 points, only Theo Ratliff scored 4 points but did grabbed eight rebounds. The "Killer B's" scored 35 points combined, Shannon Brown (13), Steve Blake (11) and Matt Barnes (11).

TURNING POINT: The game is tied at 10 early in the first quarter when Derek Fisher finds Ron Artest for an alley-oop layup. Bryant then nails two jumpers and that was the start of a 15-2 run by the Lakers.

HOT: The Lakers shot 72% in the first half and they continue it in the second half. They finished the game with an outstanding 69% shooting.

NOT: The Wizards only shot 38% mainly because of the Lakers great defense, the Wizards have been outmatched in almost every team categories except for blocks and steals. They did not score any fast break points in this game.

GOOD MOVE: Phil Jackson sits out his regular starters early in the third quarter, the bench surely did not disappoint their coach and played with great energy.

BAD MOVE: Flip Saunders decided to get small in the second quarter to out run the Lakers but it backfired to them as they Lakers continue pound the ball inside for easy baskets. The Lakers outscored the Wizards 38-23 in that quarter.

Must just be the roster that dare is using. The standings in mine are pretty good, Cavs are 12th in East with 5-14 record. Jamison does overachieve though :P

I think Lamrock is same as me, loves the way you're "recapping" the sim games (Y)

Highlights are too harsh on eyes for my liking. Fraps is letting you down as very herky jerky. Background sound/music would be good.
