it was only a matter of time. the only real change from last year was losing chandler and i guess raja bell maybe that's why their defense has been lacking all season

They also lost Felton, who is an above average defensive point guard and is currently enjoying an all-star season. However, their struggles on the offensive end were there just last year. Problem with this team is that in addition to their atrocious offense, LB seems to have quit on the team, and their league best defense a year ago is now middle of the road. Chandler was hurt most of last year, so he wasn't a huge difference maker.

It's pretty obvious that the Bobcats need a rebuild. I mean, this team sucked for almost their entire history (they made the Playoffs once in a weak Eastern Conference because Gerald Wallace was having an All-Star season and they played good team defense - they have never been anywhere near good on offense) and in my opinion they never were able to get a really good player from their lottery picks. This is why their future and presence pretty much sucks.

I looked at their all-time picks and Emeka and Felton were their best decision. That's really lolcat-style.

Let's see who takes over this messed up roster.

Not at all surprising given their current record, Brown's reported reluctance to continue coaching them this past offseason and the mere fact it's Larry Brown and he's already coached them for two whole seasons. Apparently Paul Silas is close to reaching an agreement to take over.

That's not unusual or unprecedented for an expansion team that's only been around going on seven years though. Only one NBA expansion team has made the Playoffs in its first year in the league, followed by Playoff appearances in four of its next five seasons (in comparison to the Bobcats' lone playoff appearance in their previous six NBA seasons).

Excpect to see the bobcats to make more changes either this year or in the offseason, did you see the look on Michael Jordan's face during the cats lost to i think it was oklahoma city a day or two ago? He was disappointed, they might move Stephen Jackson next.

As long as G-Force doesn't get traded for like a pair of draft picks and a load of scrubs...

Bobcats are a shining example of what happens when you have a bad GM. They just need to move the franchise out of town & start again.

I think they should ditch their Bobcats' name, take back Hornets' name & history, & the current Hornets' team just changes its name once it moves city ala Thunder

What was the last time a coach stepped down, and didn't get fired?

RESEARCH TIME!

Top of my head.
Stan Van Gundy with the Heat. Officially, he stepped down.
Pat Riley with the Heat (Spoelstra coming in).

He said last, which probably means latest before what Brown did. [/nazi]

I know shadow, I just thought Rudy was after Van Gundy, but one year has melded into the next.

dude I am a HUGE Paul Silas fan going back to his Charlotte Hornets days. too bad he doens't have Chandler, Felton, and Bell from last year's team so he will be put in a really though situation. i think at this point they need to get desperate and start Tyrus at center.

oh and this makes Paul Silas a G:

dammit well, i thought it would be easy to find a video of it, but yeah he called carlos boozer a cunt.

If you watched some replay NBA 'classic' games from the 70s, you'd know he was/is a G.

"A league source said that Brown walked away with $8 million severance from Charlotte. Combined with guaranteed monies he received after leaving the Pistons, Knicks and other teams, Brown has been paid well over $25 million for not coaching NBA teams -- an extraordinary income that says as much about his value as it does about his fickleness"

For what it's worth, he played for five teams during his five year ABA career.
