Can anyone enable EDIT PLAYER of other teams in NBA LIVE 08

Its really bugging me everytime i see my favorite players have stupid jersey numbers/ retired numbers when they sign with other teams. also, if anyone knows how to fix generated rookies ratings (they have higher ratings, hence keeping real nba players unemployed!), pls help. thanks

you can goto my documents/nba live 08/saves and then open your dynasty save folder. then open players.dbf with excel, open office, or DB commander and edit player numbers and ratings to your pleasure.

this one is too cumbersome for me. is it possible to have the edit player selection on screen? i tried to change the values of ishuman at teams.dbf to -1 and i was able to edit the teams. however, when i changed it back, it crashed.

It can't be done. If all you want to change are some jersey numbers, it's easy enough to just open players.dbf with DB Commander, locate the players you want to change and modify their NUMBER value accordingly.

mr andrew, its not all about the numbers. i just cited one situation that calls for the need to enable EDIT PLAYER on other teams' rosters. So there. Is it possible? BTW, how can i add real players in my dynasty? i tried pasting the player values from my save roster's players.dbf to the players.dbf of my dynasty. It crashed. please help. thanks

make sure you also paste in their values from the appearance.dbf, assuming that causes the crash

if the game crashes due to a roster issue the error window will say which dbf is causing the crash....so let us know that.

I added legend players to my dynasty just last week.Do as JaoSming said.Make sure to paste the values from the appearance.dbf.Also make sure the appearid in the appearance.dbf is the same as the playerid in the players.dbf.

Same principle applies for anything you want to edit in players.dbf. Numbers, ratings, position, whatever.

hey it still crashed. i did everything you said. i copied the appearance id (eg. 8 for allen iverson) from my save rosters and then paste it in my dynasty's appearance.dbf. also, i added iverson's values to the players.dbf on my dynasty. i changed the cashyear, cashtotal, cashexp, preflen, isminimum, team value to 50 (which corresponds to free agents). he appeared in the free agents pool, however, when i sign him, the game crashes. pls help me.. i dont have much players in the league anymore!

another thing mr andrew, can i use the appearance id from the TUP11 update pack for the NLSC update 2011? So that i wont have to redo the changes in accessories i had done with my tup11 save (i cant use tup11 coz it perpetually crashes after 1 year in dynasty)

Try changing his INSEASON value to True. That's the only thing I can think of off the top of my head.

Nope, it won't work properly because TUP includes different players and different IDs.
