What do you carry in your car?

Postby Doobie on Mon Nov 29, 2010 1:19 pm

Simple enough thread, items that are always in your car.

Glove Compartment - Insurance papers and registration, cologne, deoderant, and mouthwash. (I carry the last 3 things in case I have a bad smelling emergency.)
Middle compartment - CDs, a bunch of change, gum, lighter, phone and wallet(while I drive, those last 2 items come with me as soon as I get out)
Under seats - Air freshener (febreze) , more CD's in a big folder.
Trunk - Gym bag with sports gear (shorts, t-shirt, sneaker), a case of bottled water, a towel, tools, tape, basketball, and jumper cables. (I carry the sports gear incase I get out of work and meet up with some friends to play ball right away. The deoderant comes in handy then too.)

So what do YOU keep in your car? And in case you are wondering, my car always smells very good. You'd never be able to tell I smoke weed in my car unless you stick your nose directly on the seats.

Outside of the ordinary, I carry my medications (adderall and xanax) because I am always worried that that might be stolen if I left them around my roommates.

Not very long ago I always carried marijuana paraphernalia, lighters, and of course pot. Glad those days are gone.

Glove Compartment - Insurance papers and registration, cologne, extra napkins and straws (in case i spill something on my seat or my self or the fast food joint didn't give me a straw), and a few CDs that didnt fit in center console
Middle compartment - CDs, a bunch of change, gum, pen (very useful, especially for bank trips), extra mp3 player, (i never take my phone & wallet off me unless im going to play basketball. i would simply forget i even left it in my car)
Wedged between the shifter and the seat- small book of cds, my (rarely used) workout gloves
ashtray- my mp3 player i have connected to my stereo, sometimes extra AAA batteries for it, and i used to keep 5 $1 bills in there for emergencies (also came in handy back in the day)
backseat- two basketballs

Glove Compartment - Insurance papers, registrations and fixing receipts and all the records of broken items and stuffs.
Middle compartment - I put my Blackberry and wallet here but the stuffs that are always here are coins, pens and papers for writing notes.
Trunk - All the emergency equipments, distilled water bottles, a few baskets, a few magazines and books that I'm too lazy to remove and some basic tools.

the only things I keep in the car are an umbrella, napkins, ipod and ice scrapers. in the trunk I have a roof rack and all the stuff for our kayaks, 4 basketballs (indoor, outdoor, grip ball, and a ball made of recycled tires to show people), car fluid crap & other car essentials and usually a dead hooker from the night before last.
Opinions are my own.

I have no car. In my jeans pockets I usually have my keys and a lighter, along with the occasional used tissue, and in my jacket I have my iPod, my purse, and usually I have tobacco, rolling papers, and filters. Sometimes weed.

In France we call it "porte-monnaie", couldn't remember how it was called in English, and apparently online translators seem to think I'm gay. But I was sure there was another way to call it, I did know that a purse was more for women then man. Well, I COULD be a woman, but then I wouldn't be posting here (Women don't know how to subrcibe on a forum).

I was gunna say.....why is Sit giving Q shit? lol

I think I legitimized having all 4 in the car though....even though there is snow now so there is no outdoor ball to be played.

I left my Wallet in El Segundo

on topic:

surprised you all have your own car. When driving with my mum's car I usually take my mp3 player with me to listen to some music and that's all.

Yeah unless you're lucky enough to be in a nice college town or something: taxis are sketchy, buses dont go anywhere you need to go, and most cities dont have a train/subway system. Also, no sidewalks in most towns ive been in so a car is a necessity.

For me:
95% of the time Ipod/aux cable to plug it in
GPS/cable for that
Box of Tissues
Various pieces of schoolwork
usually some sort of drink (propel/gatorade)
wheelchair

Here in Paris we have a great public transportation system, you can go anywhere you want by using subways or buses, so there's no real need for a car.

there are plenty of sidewalks over here in california but i think the issue is that buses don't go where you need to go or not in enough time. or people are just too lazy to check bus routes. plus, if you've seen the movie Crash, people who take public transportation tend to get looked down upon becasue it's a sign they can't afford a car

Honestly, a great public transportation system means nothing when you don't have a single Burger King in town.
