I'll do a few more teams this weekend (I should have the time) and take some screens using some of the art patches that have already been provided for the patch. :)

I haven't been able to get as much work done on the 95/96 roster patch as I would like, as I've been working most of the last two weeks. I have completed a couple more teams, and I've also started to add the art patches that have been submitted for use with the mod.

Teams Completed

Chicago
Detroit
Houston
Indiana
Los Angeles Lakers
New York
Orlando
Phoenix
Seattle
Utah

This leaves 19 NBA teams and both All-Star teams left to complete, as well as the creation of free agents that were available during the 1996 season.

More Progress

I've started swapping coaches and adding new names to coaches.dbf. For now I'm using generic faces for missing coaches, but perhaps there will be cyberface updates for those coaches in the completed version.

I've started adding the art updates that have already been contributed. I've also been swapping around jerseys in teamgear.dbf for the teams that already have appropriate retro jerseys in the game.

And since it was suggested by a couple of people, I've added Magic Johnson to the Lakers' roster, placing him on the IR. If you're playing as the Lakers, you may choose if and when to activate him. If you're not playing as the Lakers, chances are he'll make an appearance on the active roster sometime during the season. His ratings have been lowered and he's listed as a F/G to reflect his play during his comeback in 95/96.

Here are a couple of screenshots:

I'll post another progress report soon, most likely next weekend.

It's about time for another progress report on the 95/96 roster patch. I've completed the rosters for four more teams, bringing the current total to 14. I've been adding more of the art patches that have been submitted, and am very pleased with the way the patch is shaping up. I still can't give a definite release date, but since I've got a little more spare time at the moment I'll do my best to release it as soon as possible.

Teams Completed:

Atlanta
Chicago
Cleveland
Detroit
Houston
Indiana
LA Lakers
New York
Orlando
Phoenix
Portland
San Antonio
Seattle
Utah

I've also started work on Miami, and will be moving on to Sacramento shortly. I will then complete the 13 non-playoff teams from 1996 and the two All-Star teams, then go over each team to ensure that everyone has accurate ratings and that the team ratings are also accurate. While I'm doing that, I will also be adding the art updates that have been submitted and fixing up other small details. More details plus eight screenshots below!

Here are some more screens:

I'm a bit disappointed because you are using my courts( alamodome and key arena) without my permission and without giving credit to my work.

here are the links to the screens I took of them

So you can use them but just give the credits to who made them....

Gerald, I'm sure Andrew wasn't aware of that. He'll never add any patch without the author's permission, he didn't know that Superman stole your work

My apologies Gerald, I mis-read the credits when I was downloading the files from the NBA Store. If you're willing to let me use your patches with the 95/96 roster, I'd be most grateful. You will of course receive full credit.

Again, I apologise for the misunderstanding, I had asked Superman's permission to use retro art patches and mistakenly believed he was responsible for those patches.

Hey if anyone, is interested in creating the rookie classes for the years after the 95/96 season i would like to help out.

We'd proberly need some formulas to do ratings etc so a lot of info woudl need to be found.

But wouldn't it be kool to be able to have the rookies in each season instead of generated rookies. :D

Unfortunately it isn't easy to add to a roster patch anymore. Because the game clears all players not on an NBA team roster or in the free agent pool, the rookies will be gone as soon as you start a new Dynasty game. It is possible to add players to the draft pool before you advance to a new season, but not before you start a new Dynasty (which is how the feature would work in a roster patch).

Yeah i relise that, but i still think it would be worth it, im sure there are peps who wouldn't mind replacing the gnereated rookies with real ones.
I would use the method you mentioned above, but then you would get generated rookies as well as real ones.

My point is that everyone would have to do that themselves inbetween seasons. A roster patch can't automatically add the rookies anymore, because they're wiped as soon as you start a new Dynasty game with the roster.

Andrew, i can make up a little program that would insert the drafted players into the draft inbetween seasons, i dont have time to make the actual drafted players...but if somebody makes em i can make a draft add on out of it....

When u add 60 players on do the generated rookies go away? or are they still there in the draft?

The generated rookies would still be there.

If you could make a utility that would allow us to develop add-ons for the old season rosters, I'd be happy to help out with the players.dbf side of things. (Y)

Yeah i know that you'd have to put the rookies in yourself, unless you use the tool Repole was talkign about, but for some it would be worth it.

I guess it wouldn't matter having the gnereated rookies, it woudl add mor players i guess.

If you need any help with the Players.dbf side of things dont hesitate to ask me, i'd be keen. That is of course if you are gonna make rookie classes :D

I wouldnt worry bout it till the 95/95 roster are finished anyway.

Great work your doing here, must take a lot of effort.(Y)

Yeah, I won't worry too much about add-ons until there's actually a 95/96 mod to create add-ons for.
