WNBA Mod

Discussion about NBA Live 2004.

Postby serigala on Mon Mar 08, 2004 7:42 pm

grrrr....I've made some female headshapes and textures myself, the women look somewhat more caucasian than your works. I think they're nice and everybody who has seen it said they're very good(hint: think Angelina Jolie). I was gonna upload it so you can grab them if you like as another female face you can freely use for your WNBA mod(that is, if you like 'em :) ) but so far they can only be seen in the oedit perspective screen because somehow after I use Morphmesh to convert them and tried them in-game the texture is applied...wrong. They're applied to the inside of the headmodel I think, which makes the players look real messed up. I've wrote in the forum asking for help with this problem, but so far the nice people there never even dropped a single letter in response  . So frustrating. Anyway, kick-ass work with the female body model, I hope your mod will progress smoothly, cause I'll definitely dl it!

I responded to this in one of the 0-Edit threads............. you have to un-check the Invert ? button or buttons before saving.

Hey serigala. Just wondering if Dirtdog's solution worked for you. (I had the same problem myself the very first time...freaky). Anyways, have you had any luck with your head shapes and textures? I'd be interested in checking them out. Thanks.

Hope you solve this problem (I'd offer advice but I've never had it myself, hopefully Dirtdog1_David's suggestion will work), I'm curious to see Angelina Jolie in NBA LIVe!

I hope you are continuing work Ozio, looks like a pretty neato concept.

I finally found some time to patch................ Damn i have been busy! Ozjo- PM me; so we can chat on MSN.
Well as promised here is my first preview of the handful of WNBA players i plan to make.
It's only the Bhed, but the patch is coming soon. I still have to experiment more messing with Morphmesh body parts and women's hair.

The Bhed is of (Karl Malone's daughter) Cheryl Ford of the Detroit Shock.

Tell me what i need to fix??

it thinks this isnt about finishing the whole WNBA asap, i think this is a more creative way of exploring the possiblities of O-Edit and stuff

No. I plan to create a new head shape using O-Edit.

I don't think it would take that long to make a WNBA patch.

Needed:
1) Roster- Shouldn't take that long................ except getting the ratings and game play right.
2) Arena's- Might take some time!
3) Logos- Should be relatively quick
4) Jerseys- 2 done already.................... Anyone want to help?
5) 3-4 more generic women’s faces and frames
6) As many cyberfaces as i could cook up.

Who wants to help????

C'Mon- Wiggle- This was your Idea?
Serigala- Looks like you are interested

This is going to take long.. :( I think you guys should just release an add-on for it (if it's possible), like what Tony does with classic teams. Maybe the top 4 WNBA teams would be a good idea and the East/West WNBA All-Stars.

Snilrch- Yes those jerseys are really needed. :D

I really have never been a fan of the WNBA. I caught a few games on T.V. back when the comets were dominant, but never seen it live.
The reason for this patch would be to give WNBA fans a game they could play, and a challenge to make something new!

Here is info i got from the website:

14 Teams
34 game seasons
April 17th 2004 is the draft
The season starts sometime on May 20th - August 1st, (so we have time)
Detroit Shock won the 2003 Championship
Lauren Jackson- MVP

Hi, sorry it's been quite a while since my last post. Thanks a lot for those of you who wrote in response to my problem. Finally, the oedit, IT WORKS FINE FOR ME NOW!!! man i'm so relieved, i've been trying everything for the past week and finally found what's wrong. It was so simple it makes me want to kick myself for not trying it sooner. To anybody that (maybe) has the same problem, or would-be patcher who are going to download oedit:

 DON'T DOWNLOAD THE LATEST (2.4.0 OR SOMETHING) VERSION!

It won't work properly for nbalive2004 (um... at least that's true in my case...)! Stick with the 2.3.8 something version and spare yourselves the trouble and frustration. Believe me. I mean hey, you're an average guy and you want to download a software and are presented with a list of versions, is it unreasonable to expect for you to d/l the latest one?
But anyway, when i finally got it to work i was ecstatic. damn, now I can (theoretically)make whatever! unfortunately though, the cyberfaces that i made with the busted (for me) version won't show up right even after i opened and edit them with my current version of oedit. So I can't use the female cyberface I mentioned earlier.  and it was my best work, too (out of my long long headshape editing career of...one week? )! grrr...but to anyone that are interested, I'll make it all over again right away. Hope you'll like 'em.
(Man, I'm having so much fun with this, my roster now has Solid Snake of Metal Gear, 3 ninja ballers, Spawn and a 7-10 tall demon. :D morpmesh and oedit are a godsend!)

thx.
PS:um...btw, how do you add new dred (hairstyle texture) to the viv file?
PPS:that Malone's daughter facepatch looks real nice.

There are only 13 teams this season................ Cleveland was eliminated.
One less team can't hurt!

WNBA Mod Progress report! New team member frAnNn

Well all the jerseys are done! Thanks to frAnNn.............. He hooked them up! :D :D

We really need a roster specialist................ I can do rosters i guess............. if the DBF writing is anything like the National Teams patch i did for Live 2000; then i will be able to get it started............... but if you know a lot about the Live 2004 ratings, and want to help; please E-mail me.

Also need someone who can piece the whole project together (knows how to write installation .bat files)

Someone who can hook-up a WNBA ball and a T.V. logo patch????

Here is a Bhed preview of the newest player i am working on- Chamique Holdclaw.
