there was a 2 month stretch or so where he was barely on camera. his and Flair's TV dates had started to run low and only Bicshoff was on screen each week

Wasn't that due to his back surgery though? I have read that the dates on Flair's contract are starting to run out, so there are less appearances to cut costs through paying him per appearance.

At least he's had the good sense not to main event for the company, for the sake of business and for that matter his own health as it seems he's in pretty rough shape these days. Still, it was difficult to imagine him staying behind the scenes.

from my PWX newsletter
2) PWX TNA Connection
**********************
Did you see Hogan putting over that new TNA World Title belt on Impact this week? I'm very happy to share with you the news that the belt was none other than Jesse Justice to Jeff Hardy's specs. The same Jesse Justice that recently did the killer 2D character art work for PWX Uprising. Congrats, Jesse! The belt was manufactured by topropebelts.com which should give Jesse a raise and hire him more often.

3) Hulk. Please. Stop
****************
In an update to last week's posted video showing Hulk Hogan rapping and flashing his wiener it has been uncovered that the footage was censored unnecessarily. Hulk never exposed himself. But was I the only one who thought his rapping was the most disturbing part in the first place?!
Opinions are my own.

TNA had an empty arena, no ref, "fight" between MCMG and GenME. It's not on YouTube yet but it was shot in the same format as their Reaction interviews and was pretty gritty and had a lot of swearing (bleeps). It had a similar setup as a normal tag hardcore match but both teams did a lot of crazy shit.

It had a more "realistic" feel to it to the point where Kathryn actually asked me if this was scripted like the rest of wrestling. IMO that kind of direction is where TNA needs to head. A more gritty, serious story telling where the babyfaces step on heads, swear, and taunt. I find it really weird that I preferred the "shaky cam" to the normal cameras since I normally don't go for that but I just really really liked that "match".

Once it's uploaded I'll embed it, but if I forget you guys should definitely watch it.
Opinions are my own.

what's the point of an empty arena fight? i don't get it

anyone notice Cole actually called a powerslam correctly on RAW? Mark Henry looked like he semi-botched it so it didn't look like a regular powerslam maybe that's why Cole called it correctly. he then called Orton's powerslam at the end of the show "scoop slam" as usual.

It was a feud blow-off match. Foley and Rock had one and TNA had one with Angle I believe. Both of those had refs though, this was more of a fight until the other guys give up or KO'd.

Still not on YouTube.

Towards the end of its run, the AWA was holding matches in an empty arena under the guise of things getting out of control and the matches needing to take place away from the public. In reality, it was done to avoid the embarrassment of declining attendance.

In TNA's case, either before or after the rest of the tapings. The AWA would just tape shows without any crowds towards the end of its run.

The Old School RAW wasn't too bad. Nice to see JR again, though Cole getting his heel gimmick over kind of ruined it.

No, probably on the replay. But I heard Orton won again making Cena "fired" by Barett.

So Orton retains and Cena got 'fired'.
Watch him return at the rumble which happens to be in Mass.

I thinks that really gonna happen tomorrow since Cena is "free" since he is "fired". A heel turn for Cena is still unlikely.

If Cena is reinstated tomorrow, it'll be somewhat reminiscent of WCW late in its run when wrestlers retired "forever" one week and were back in action the next. Wouldn't surprise me all that much though. I also thought Undertaker might make a surprise return and cost Kane the championship, this being the 20th anniversary of his debut at Survivor Series and all.

Cole messed up YET AGAIN and made the same mistake he did on raw. called the Fame-asser the Zig Zag again, but he got called out on it this time thankfully

also, nice to see natalya finally pull off a win instead of getting destroyed by lay cool like she had been doing before. honestly, their "mean girl" act is getting old. i think they need another duo/group to go up against. mccool tapped rather quickly to the sharpshooter and it was nice to see them going old-school and rolling in and out of the ring to break the referee's count. they NEVER do that anymore and usually the ref just stops counting/ starts his count over on his own for no reason.

WWE "has" the Usos and the Harts who I think are pretty good teams but the whole "are the Harts going to break up" crap is getting old. TNA has MCMG, GenME, and Ink Inc. as good teams in their tag division.....I really hate the whole pair up 2 random wrestlers and call them a team then break them up a month later. I miss JeriShow.
