Wah, wah, wah, cry me a mother-fucking river. Cleveland does need to get over it. LeBron didn't handle this well, but someone should remind those fools we have the right to work wherever we want in America.

Heck no.
LeBron was stupid enough to pick the wound again with that (clever) commercial (by Nike). Cleveland deserves to respond back.

LeBron asks 'What should I do?' but Clevelanders comments are for 'What should I've done?'

Jesus Christ, quit bitching about your former player and celebrate the fact that your current team hasn't been shit thus far this season. Make a commercial celebrating the fact that, through three meaning-less early season games, JJ Hickson has played like a star. I think this public anti-LeBron whining is going to continue until the Cavaliers fall back into local obscurity... which will probably be within the next two years.

Quiting is forcing a trade or sitting out and not playing until you get your way. The fact that these people still focus on Game 5 of the ECF is more than pathetic. If LeBron quit that night then the rest of the team "quit" that night too because they were all garbage. I feel fully comfortable in saying that if the Cavs, say, drafted Darko No. 1 and passed on LeBron (which obviously never would have happened, my point is if they didn't get him at all) there wouldn't be a team in Cleveland.

The negativity of Cleveland isn't just LeBron's fault; blame can be thrown on the terrible NFL and MLB teams. The town is tormented to the point where criticizing their own players doesn't even make them feel better, they have to follow the former player and bitch about them until they eventually lose interest with the franchise.

Its a cool ad. Im sure a lot of ppl in Cleveland dont even care anymore. Just because a few people made an ad doesnt mean the whole city is still in their bedroom crying.

I don't see why Cavs fans/the city of Cleveland has to just shut up and get over it. They're hardly the only ones holding onto something from the past (and in their case, it at least happened within the last six months), that's what fans do. That's why they're called fans, because they're fanatical.

Creative as the Nike commercial was, it left itself open to this. Fans wring their hands at the lack of heated rivalries in the league today and pine for the good old days, then when something like this happens one side is supposed to just get over it? Forget that, let them boo him and bitch about him and resent him just like every other fanbase has the right to do.

And for South Park fans in the audience:

As a cleveland cavalier fan most of my life, i don't hate Lebron, i'm over the fact that Lebron left. I'm use to the things that happeneds to my former home town of cleveland. The shot, the drive and the fumble, i call this move by Lebron going to miami, "Lebron's burning rubber and will set miami on fire".

As a cavs fan, the new Lebron commercial means absolutely nothing to me, i've stuck with the cavs through good times, yeah, and through bad times. No matter what player comes and goes, the cleveland cavs will always be my favorite team. Lebron who?

Advice for cavalier fans, please get over it, almost all teams have lost someone whom they loved.

So? Like I said, we have precious few intense, meaingful rivalries in the league these days. If there are Cavs fans that are passionate enough about the team to hold it against LeBron for leaving, resent him and boo him, that's their right and so much the better for any future Cavs/Heat games. If Cavs fans should get over it, then there are a lot of sports fans out there who should do the same for past events concerning their favourite teams.

We've criticised Stern for trying to take the emotion out of the game. Let's not do that ourselves.

Instead of talking about Lebron, they should talk about JJ Hickson and how the Cavs are doing good. Man, Cleveland needs to get over it. I feel bad to be Mo Williams, because all the media talks about is 'Lebron is a douche' or 'More evidence LeBron quit' Talk about the freaking 2010-2011 Cavs! I understand the hate, but it's too much attention now.

I agree it's a shame the current Cavs are being overshadowed by it but again, why should Cavs fans have to get over it when other sports fans are allowed to hold onto their resentment for this and that? Also, it's not as though the Cavs are doing that great; they're 3-3 after winning a couple in a row but they're not exactly defying expectations to the extent of the Hornets or Warriors. They're doing alright in a division that's been ordinary so far early in the season but not to the point where all the LeBron stuff is forgotten.

Mo Williams is sad because his boyfriend left. Like when Cuttino Mobley and Steve Francis got separated.

Mobley may claim he retired due to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, but we all know he left the game because of a broken heart.

Thank you, Simpsons.

Cavs ban anti-LeBron James apparel

The team and the league have been planning for this date since the summer, starting a continuing dialogue since the Heat's first game in Cleveland was scheduled in early August. The Cavaliers, the league and the Cleveland Police Department have had conference calls discussing the proper way to secure the game, which will be televised nationally on TNT.

To ensure James' safety, there will be dozens of extra police officers on hand, both uniformed and undercover. Officers will be stationed inside and outside the arena, and many will be positioned by the Heat bench and at the tunnel where the Heat players will enter the court.

The team has done research on the various crude and offensive James T-shirts in circulation locally, and officials will be stationed at entrances to make sure no fans enter with such shirts or signs that disrespect James or his family members. They'll also be in the stands, authorized to take away inappropriate apparel. Fans who have such shirts will be required to remove them and then will be given a Cavaliers-branded T-shirt to wear instead. All inappropriate signs also will be confiscated and officials will be on the lookout throughout the game for inebriated fans or fans who are preparing to throw things onto the court.

Makes sense to have added security, good call there in case anyone gets out of control. As for banning anti-LeBron signs and shirts, I'd say fair enough if they're profane or threaten violence or whatever but you can't take the emotion or voice entirely away from the fans. As I said before, it's not fair to says Cavs fans should get over it any more than any other fans should get over issues related to their favourite teams and there's nothing wrong with a heated rivalry. Draw a line if you must in the name of a family friendly environment/broadcast but let the fans hate and boo as much as they like. That's just a part of being a fan and feeling a strong connection to your team.
